Didn't he pay a shop to do it? Not that that is a bad thing, just might make it easier to part with it. But surely it won't make much of a profit if he did?

Might have to ask the Rev about the mentality of doing up a beautiful car and then selling it ;) :D

thats a fine piece of work...no doubt about it.

if you do the sums, he can make a profit..$40-50k US dollars gets you a lot in "shop-work"  in Australia we pay $90-110 for basic k-mart mechanic work....in the US that same money gets you top-end specialist workshop pro's..

Not only do I look at the car thats up for grabs, but I also look at the surrounds the car is kept in...... ???

At $1500 and the amount of bog I can see in the pics... maybe ok for spares, but transport from Gero to Perth would be around $600 or $1000 plus to the Eastern states

Hi there

I've been looking for a 240Z/260Z for a while and have seen this on eBay – http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260716165542&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1623wt_1141

Any knowledgeable guys out there want to spill the beans on the worth of a 2+2 with an RB20 transplant?

Apart from the killer rust issues, what are the main areas to focus on?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers Martin

Almost positive the link for that car for $1500 is not from geraldton, otherwize i would have purchased it!

Also just a point of interest, from my limited experience in car transport ( as i travelled with car on the Indian Pacific ) from Peth to Adeliade was only $770 Fully Included for safe transport of me and my car. I then rung up to bring a friend and the price dropped to $750 for both of us plus the car! Go figure! When i rung up to confirm the price of car transport dropped from $500 to $300 with two people travelling and it only cost $180 for a cheap seat on the train!

In WA, yes and no. We got alot of gray market second hand cars being sold by car dealers in the early 90's until some law was passed making it harder to import them, as the new car yards were crying foul.  Not sure if that happened in the rest of the country.

So no it wasn't uncommon to see JDM only models cruising the streets of Perth back then, there were boat loads of JDM RX-7's, Cordia Turbos, Fairlady Z's and the odd C210 GT2000 turbo Skylines, and lots of R30's shipped over.

These days though, yep. Most of them ended up as scrap metal after they were used and abused.
