Each to their own I guess. I have seen the originals so it's not that I'm foreign to the heart of the story. I just don't think they did what they could have but I guess it all comes down to budget? I just think if you're going to re-do a good story with the addition of modern filming techniques and special effects, do it properly not half assed. But hey, if you guys liked it then I guess they've still accomplished what they set out to do.

If you think the fast & furious movies are gay then you're not gonna throw up your dinner with this movie. The only thing worse that fast & furious is the failed b grade copies which seems o be what this movie is.

Glad you all got home safely. Just after I got back in to Launceston an Ambulance went up the hill toward perth and my wife turned to me and said "hope that's not for one of the guys at the track". It was one of those nervous laugh moments However since moving to Taz I've come to the conclusion it's safer to be on the race track than dealing with Tassie drivers on the highway!

Mate I'm sorry to hear that too. As everyone has said at least there's no serious injuries. I know you've spent a lot of time and money on that car and you'd done a fantastic job from what I could see. I hope you've still got other Zed project cars, I'd hate to see you give it up.

Thanks to all the boys today for welcoming us and extra thanks to Lurch for taking me around in the 240z, twas a blast! but tell Bruce to stop being lazy and get a 5 speed would ya! You people just got me motivated to get my zed over here. I was tossing up the idea of selling it but how could I possibly do something so shameful. Especially since I live 30 minutes from Symmons Plains. Har har

Thanks for the info on the unregistered vehicle permits fellas, sounds like the way to go. The car does run but I might get my brother to do a couple of things on it for me before taking the plunge to get it from the Barossa to Launceston! Does anyone know how many people ended up coming over for the Tassie tour in the end? I counted it at about 11 or 12 but I don't know if that's cars or people? c'mon track day!!!

I'll be taking my video camera to track day (if that's ok?) and I'm sure others will have camera's also, hopefully we will have something to stick on youtube for everyone. Damn I wish I had my Zed here with me Anyone know a really cheap way to get a Zed from SA to TAS without registration?!

I"m now living in Launceston (moved 4 months ago) and was looking forward to meeting some of you guys at Symmons but my 260z is still in SA!!! doh!! Don't have a way to get it over here at the moment, maybe next year?! :'(

Just watched the new Wangan Midnight movie at a friends house (wont say how he got it ) It's possibly the worst car movie I've ever seen! So many terrible errors in this movie that it just destroys it. The car that is supposed to be an s30 crashing looks like an old mitsu with hubcaps. Later in the movie the car is supposed to be on fire and again the rims are completely different and very very obvious. As mentioned before the car in the junkyard is a 260z 2+2. Most scenes are sped up to around 2x and it's obvious, especially when cornering it looks more like a Herby the love bug flick. When the main character is working on the car he's using a ratchet on places that don't have bolts. This crap is in every scene and it just takes away from the story which is also left wanting. And what's with the small rims? and the wrong ferrari? and the 2fast2furious rip off scenes (poorly done at that) etc etc etc. I went in expecting this movie to be crap and I was still dissapointed

This might help you guys with tuning the round top carbs. It's a bit like watching Al from Home Improvement on their "tooltime" segment but the dude knows what he's talking about.

Most of the datsun's on that first site are from about $30,000 to $80,000!!!!! I think the Jap's are getting ripped off
