Morning

Tidy looking L28 powered bus in SA, even has original books.

for $14,000 shouldn't last long, unless there are nasties hiding behind the shiny paint and fluted guards ;)

Hi All,

New to this site and recently fallen in love with the z car and keen to get a 240z or 260z 2-seater as a project car.

Been looking at all the usual gumtree, eBay, Unique Cars etc.

Looking through this forum I have noticed no-one has mentioned these cars that I found on Trade Unique. They all seem to be from the same seller and judging by the pics has a lot of z stuff lying around.

Prices seem a little too good given what I have looked at so far. Has anyone come across this seller before. Any advice on what to look for would be appreciated. Thought maybe it was because it was LHD, but judging by wiper location in the pictures they are all RHD. Other thought was he has Frankensteined them because they were written off.

Like I said Z-cars are a bit of a new obsession and so don't know the intricacies as yet.

Thoughts?

Isaac the woodchipper is infamous around here. Those listings are all old. I don't think his cars are as good as photos often suggest I'm afraid.

Thanks for that.

Have always gone on the assumption that if it looks too good to be true it usually is...but have also missed out on some killer deals in the past using that assumption.

Will keep looking.

Had a look at this car last weekend. But did not spend much time on it.

It is actually not bad, not my color of choice but apparently it had full body respray a few years ago, if this is true then it is holding up very well.

If you are going to have a look then check the infills where the door mirrors used to be, this should give you an indication of the quality of work.

Rails and lower radiator support also worth checking as I did not look at those areas.

If I did not have 3 datsuns already I would buy it.

very little rust? i feel like i need a tetanus shot just from looking at it!

Contrary to what he might believe, the longer he has that car, it will actually just devalue due to it getting slowly blown away into the sunset in a cloud of rust as the years pass on like sand through the hourglass..................

Yeah it's definitely got more serious rust underneath that paint, probably in the slam panel of hatch the sills are probably rotten.

But it is a good looking car, love the colour and the white wall tyres with 260z rims. Great combo. You could do a lot worse in terms of a 2+2 I think this is the same car I sold an older fella driving around Melbourne / Caulfield years back with his Labrador in the passenger seat. It hasn't deteriorated much in the last 14 years (if it's the same car).

The interior condition looks great.

That looks like a good example, if it's as solid as photos suggest that is.

240Z pricing continues to blow me away every time i look at it. I remember when a car like this was $6k, could have even been that one...

This is getting into 930 shape 911 pricing!

Thats an original colour isnt it?pretty sure I have seen a few of this colour around.........always liked the green and tan combo

Doesn't seem all that long ago, makes you wonder what the upper end of the market is ?
