O what fun. Can't even do one lap in first gear without crashing. Only got the standard controller. Does it get any better with a steering wheel?

Gotta take it one step at a time. Missus freaked out at total cost so gotta buy one thing this week, another thing next week. You know how it goes. Just like buying things for the real cars. LOL

Picked up a near new Logitech  g920 wheel & pedals for $260 today. Only used twice by spoilt brat. Included a fold up table to sit it on.

A friend from work just gave me his old logitech G920 wheel setup as he is way past that - his pedal setup alone cost him near $2K. So thanks to him I lost the last 2 nights trying to set the new best 240Z time in "time trial" around Bathurst. A couple of late nights but finally I strung a good lap together - 2.28.7 to go back to the top - just saying!!!!!!!!!

For those Xbox One owners and newer, if you are worried about Hard-drive space, or the 1TB costs too much more, and play a few other games, this is pretty good, 8TB, and you can buy from the US Amazon site, delivered, cheaper than anywhere in Australia (that I have seen)

I am slowly getting a better feel for the car, but it sucks not having access to the ghost option. Linking a perfect lap together is difficult, and particularly when I come off on the previous lap so the next lap is not counted. My best so far is a 2.34, but there is a lot left on the table. More practice is in order

Did you check out the viczcar 'rules' back a bit here? Driver aids are limited, the idea of the 'rules' is so everyone runs the same basic car if they want to compete and compare times.

Ok. So FWIW, driving aids are not available in Time Trial. So that sorts that concern 260DET.

I just had an epiphany with driving through the top section of the track and it has made a huge difference. I also previously was driving with the braking suggestions on and I found it is really distracting to getting the right line and the right braking zones. Good for a rough idea on a track you don’t know, but then it needs to be refined a lot. This 2:28.923 time doesn’t count as I came off at the bottom of the straight the lap before which sucks, but I can see there is a heap more in it.

Yea, off track penalties are odd to say the least. You run wide coming out of a corner and it disqualifies the lap. Bizarre. Running wide is enough of a time penalty already.. Lol

 

It reminds me of iRacing, which is notorious for strange off track penalties.

I am down to an official 2:29.2, but I just need to pull it all together into one lap, but that is what it is all about I suppose

I’m going to have to ask people do not post any more simulator vids otherwise I’ll be strongly tempted to investing an Xbox, steering wheel, pedals and game which I can’t afford.
