Shouldn't he be restoring an RX-7?

Somehow I shudder to think what paint colour and wheels will be put on this 240z.

I have also been following him on bookface....

I wouldn't worry Gav. I have faith he will do a nice job, remember he is an actor and the whole F&F thing was only a movie. He wont build something like that in real life..... surely? i hope.......

I laughed at the photo of him in a white shirt after removing the engine, I thought hmmm wish my clothes would stay that clean.

No not at all, I'm just cynical when they have corporately sponsored restorations. I think it may have a bit of a Fast N Furious build quality to it / restomod feel to it and I much prefer period correct builds myself. Which I doubt we will get with this build. But looking forward to seeing what they do.

Just seen too many automotive programs do horrible horrible things. :)

I saw his latest pic on fb, a guy is buiding the roll cage and he's playing with the steering wheel in his clean white shirt, I can imagine the brooom brooom noises for myself ;D ;D

It must be hard to build a nice car by throwing money at a workshop...

I wouldnt know, im not rich.

Is that any different to some of the builds on here? People on here have done it, they probably aren't rich, so its done little by little over 3-5 years, opposed to a few months like Sungs car.

I'm just exited to see what he will do with it, I'm happy that he likes Zeds, and old metal, a humble or poor mans car so to speak.

He could be just another movie star driving around in a Ferrari or Lambo, and I'm sure he might have one of those also. He could have had a liking to expensive classics, and would be restoring a GT40, or a Shelby GT500, something that would cost $150 000 before restoration.

But the fact he is restoring a humble poor mans Datsun. A car we can all aspire to and relate to. Somehow to me, it makes him seem normal, not a Hollywood tinsel town movie star, not connected to reality.

What excites me the most, is because he has a lot of disposable income, he can build something we could only dream about, a high HP NA RB, he could have done a tc24 twin cam motor also, and it could be finished in a reasonable time, not waiting 3 years while average Joe scrapes together cash to slowly get it built.

I'm loving it!

That is a awesome build. The videos are worth a look as well. This should draw more attention to the zed cars increase their value as well.

I don't understand why people refer to this as a "Fast and Furious" car, when it's Kang's personal build, and nothing to do with a movie franchise he played in.

I also don't get the haters because it's Kang building it and having it built for him/with him by using hired help. Jealous much? I think so.

While he built it in a way I might not have, I do like most of the final result.

haha love the analysis of his motivations and his white shirt guys. I just think he has tried to copy love the beast but in a soulless hollywood/westside customs way-no connection to the car as it is to sell brands not a story :) one thing it lacks is a personal touch.....it doent look as bad as i was expecting actually, after seeing some of the rocket bunny kits i was waiting to see a horrid widebody crazy angled mess......but it doesnt look too bad and that is coming from someone who is a period guy who hates big plastic body kits

Jealous? Whatever.

It looks like an amalgamation between the Type B ZG kit and a regular S30z front end.

I've seen worse but also a lot better.

yeah cant say i'm liking the kit. The rendering looked alright but seeing it on the car looks a bit much especially with the rear flairs cutting into the doors. but hey its not my car.

What's the go with the stitch welding they have done on it, not the conventional 1" on 1" off, they have also done it just about everywhere instead of just engine bay/ strut towers. Any benefits?
