zzzzed
I am taking over where Ryan (thriller) left off in the rusty red rocket. As you see from the pics it's a very clean example of a rust bucket. I have heard this car calling for my help from over the ranges for a few years now and Now I finaly get the cas to save it Any way check out the pics and enjoy JDM-TOY and Oliphips
Brabham
I like the optional lightweight floor and removable battery tray did you get a roof cut with it to fix the blasted sunroof? Look forward to seeing it progress, good luck.
zzzzed
I got a roof section that I will have to tig in. It's a bit more work than replacing the whole skin but they are getting hard to find. Might have to get Freddy at top stage to start making fibreglass roof skins. curtis 240z
Hey mate, did you get the original motor as well, of memory hat car was matching numbers. I'll put up some pics of how the car looked before Ryan bought it if your interested.
zzzzed
Yeh sure fire away. A bit of history is good. Yes it has the matching number engine
Administrators gav240z Posted November 29, 2014 Administrators Share Posted November 29, 2014 Good to see you got another car, there is a bit of work there alright but nothing that can't be resolved with a bit of work and I'm sure you're capable of doing it right. I know Ryan didn't want to sell it so glad to see it went to a good home. Especially after you missed out on #150 (sorry about that!). zzzzed
That's ok gav. I rely wasn't financial enough at the time Things have turned around since then This one is more for the thrill of the build than the end result I may or may not keep it when the build is done depending how attached I get But the plan is if I sell it to use the money to restore my blue 260z 2 seater

Moderators PB260Z Posted November 29, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 29, 2014 Hi, Catchy number 1001. Aside from the big and really obvious rust she actually look alright. Looking forward to seeing her come back to life. Cheers PB
zzzzed
Yeh because the rust holes are so big, as I fix them it will feel as though it is improving faster. I think if I keep it it will become my favourite zed. It will be kept to a concorse build
vorn70
Well mate I admire you for giving it the love that it needs to be back on the the road. It will be a big thrill and a long chase. I will enjoy following your build. ( I can't believe you are already talking about what you are going to go after this one). Good luck mate. zzzzed
The best part about this one is that I think it is the original paint so nothing is hidden by bog What you see is what you get.
curtis 240z
How it was when i got it a few years ago.
Administrators gav240z Posted December 2, 2014 Administrators Share Posted December 2, 2014 OMG that interior shot, looks like it was actually running in that state? Can't help but think it would have made an awesome rat rod.
zzzzed
Wow. It actually had a passenger side floor back then That must have rusted out fast. Thanx for the pics. So where did you get it from.
curtis 240z
I bought it from Stuart Wilkins motorsport in Sydney, they got the car west of Sydney out near Cattai Ridge of memory where it sat in a paddock. The car did run when I had it (not to well) but amazingly it would move around under it's own steam and it was fairly original as far as all the plastics being there and in the engine compartment, just very rusty. zzzzed
Thanx for the history mate. It's always good to know. Hopefully this will be its last stop before it's all shiny again. I hope to have it on a rotisserie by the end of the year.

thriller
Wow. It actually had a passenger side floor back then Sort of! Here's a snap from about a week after I got it & had taken out the seats. There was more sound deadening there than actual metal floor. Looking forward to seeing it all come together!

Administrators gav240z Posted March 24, 2015 Administrators Share Posted March 24, 2015 You ripped that roof turret off quick, shame you didn't take more photos of the process and where all the spot welds are, that rear beaver panel area looks shagged. Do you have another piece or was it bent bad?
