  1. That would be awesome Gav, also rear valances!!
  2. It's all down to personal preference. I tend to sit on an idea for a few months before doing it, just in case I change my mind. The rear guards on my 240z are rotten/mangled, so I tossed up the idea of having flares and whilst the flares look great from some angles, they look out of place from all other angles. So I decided against it, but overall build the car to your taste and not to someone elses for the purposes of resale value, you can't please everyone.
  3. Thanks for the photo Chris. I understand what you mean, its looks abit rougher than the OEM finish but its definitely looks alot smoother than most textured bed liner sprays available. I'll probably go with the same paint you used or if I can source one; Upol Plas 4F - fine texture coating paint.
  4. Chris, hows the overall texture of the duplicolor armour paint? Looks like it turned out great!
  5. Thanks George. Will definitely be using the correct grade bolts for the mechanical components as they're designed to be torque'd to spec, however it seems that these SS fittings aren't even suitable for simplest of fixtures. Will probably purchase zinc plated fittings as I go along.

  11. I purchased a set of seats from Dave and can vouch for the quality of the seats.
  12. 1. Seats no longer available - I've decided to re-trim them as the foam is still in good condition. 2. Passenger side nosecone - SOLD
  13. I just recently sold my NA8 clubman for a more practical car that I can transport parts in to finish off the 240z restoration ... Would definitely buy one again, it is definitely an awesome car to own.
  14. Yeah post it up on gumtree, facebook, i.e. wherever you can to get more exposure. Even if they decide to part it out, you might be able to track down the person by his posts
  15. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get first dibs Thanks though Jeff.
  16. Gav, how different is the 240z and 260z rear valance panel outer dimensions wise? As it seems like its not too hard to modify one to suit a 240z?
  17. Hemma, did you mean an external spray bar? or an internally oiled cam?
  18. I find it funny how someone who's never built an engine before and clearly knows jack about engine building thinks that a quote outweigh's experience. If you factor in the cost of the rb25, engine mounting kit, labour to install it (just so it sits in there and not yet runs) that'll cost you up to 10k alone. Let alone the rest of the powertrain, engine management system, and etc. If you do it yourself, it'll obviously be cheaper, but you'll have to know how to spin a spanner at the least lol. Also you're display picture makes you look like a flog, which is 50% of the reason why you're getting these responses.
  19. Thats a good deal, especially with a spare roof thrown in as well.
  20. I purchased mine from All Z Parts in Hornsby. Contact Details; AllZParts Unit 1/17 King Road Hornsby NSW 2077 Ph: (02) 9476 0966 Mobile: 0410549 070 It's best if you give him a ring first to ask if he's open, and then pick it up / pay in person.
  21. It honestly depends on how much rust/paint/bog the car has and how much of a perfectionist you are. The way I'm restoring mine is; Step 1. Strip the car bare Step 2. Remove all the rubber seals and glue with a wire wheel Step 3. Search for any bog and rust, by manually sanding down all the exterior panels (mainly roof, quarters and rear beaver panel). 99% chance there will be no bog placed on the interior / underside / engine bay of the car as there is no point. Step 4. Cut out any major rust that you can find. Step 5. Think of any repairs you'd like to do and get those panels removed as well (e.g. replacing the floors, rear quarter, etc). - Remember to brace the car by welding steel box section if necessary. Step 6. Then media blast. You can always media blast the car first, but this way 1. All the bog and most of the major rust sections have been removed prior to blasting 2. You can access areas of the car, you might not have had access to, if you decided to blast the car first. 3. You've got a better chance of getting all the media out this way post-blasting.
  22. 2. Autobooks Datsun 260z Owners Workshop Manual - SOLD
