When I contacted superpro they only sold individual bushes and that can be very $$$$$$$ There was a seller on ebay who sells a superpro kit front and rear separate but for around $240 for fronts and $130 for rears it is a bit expensive. The rear kit didnt list control arm bushes or sway bar link bushes

Hi mate I tryed chasing up a set of bushes but with no luck. I was concerned buying from American as sometimes american 240z and 260z dates dont quiet line up with Aus cars. I didnt search everwhere but places like, Whiteline, Pedders and Nolathane didnt have a kit. Superpro has individual bushes but wouldnt put a kit together for a discounted price!! So I risked it and purchased from Prothane in America and cannot compliment enough. Every single bush fitted no issue at all!!!

Rear suspension is now complete!!! New springs, shocks and bushes all installed and it looks good. The lowered springs dont seem to have done alot but that was expected, the reason they where put in was for a stiffer ride not to drag along the floor. Over the next few months the datsun will be put on the back burner as I have a gable verandah to start fabricating so it will steal alot of my shed space. If my girlfriend see's me working on the datsun and not on the verandah she will probably kill me.... Here is a before picture After picture And ride height

So I got down the shed this arvo after work. While waiting for rear suspension parts paint to dry I started on something I have been tossing up for a little while. I have been looking into heat sheilding around my carburetor and finally fabricated something up. I was going to mount below the intake manifold but it is a very tight little spot and would be difficult to make up all those notches so it clears the header. The holley intake is not the prettiest of all things and I think this makes it a little more pleasing, and Once all the fuel/vacuum lines are all tied back it will be much better. BLU also recieved a new Ramflo air filter for our 1 year anniversary ☺

That car has been for sale for atleast the last year. Chances are things dont add-up. -
I honestly dont know how. Wish I never seen it now ☺

When they list Pro's and Con's and the Con's list is double the length of the Pro's. I seen an add the other day saying chopped springs and a straight pipe on a magna was a "Pro" How and when did this become a Pro!!!!

Ok a quick update the trike is now finished!! It got the full "Ricks Restorations" treatment and I am stoked with how it finished up. The baby is still 20 weeks away so I wont hand it over quite yet I think I will sit and look at it for a bit, I really dont want to hand it over now ☺. Full steam ahead on the 260z now..

Andrew I think what Sirpent said is the nicest way he could put it. What he is saying is, is all this just for RWC? Because Its not really "fixing" the problem, its pretty much the same as it was before. The entire area needs to be completely cut out and the time you spent cutting, welding, grinding then bogging and sanding you might aswell spent an extra day or 2 and done it properly. Its difficult as I know your only young and cash can be an issue but in the long run doing things twice, costs twice as much if not more. !!!

It was only mentioned the other day about 260z 2 seaters and their value, let see what this sells for then !!! Looks to be in good condition but still needing some TLC http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=151990734505&alt=web -
Some people are just lazy. Maybe so it didnt remove the strength from the weld. Bog will hide anything.
-
That would work Razed. It all depends on the sheds wiring, I always use my 10amp to 15amp adapter on my closest power point to my shed fuse box aprox 1m. I have welded alot and never popped a breaker. But it all depends on how your shed has been wired and its age. Better to be safe than sorry could be a good investment.

Hey guys. Nothing has really been done lately, the rear suspension has been removed so it can be rebuild. I thought I would show another little project I am working on at the moment. So my sister inlaw and husband are having a baby so I decided as a babyshower /birth present I would build something a little unique. I purchased a 1950 solid wheel tricycle in very poor condition, stripped the paint re built certain metal components, made a front wheel guard that was missing, Purchased new wheel rubbers and painted it in some really 1950s colours. It still needs a few finishing touches some pinstriping, a painted silver trim on the wheels and a upholstered seat. Let me know what you think ☺

I love this build already and its only 1 post!!!! Monkeymagic the 240 is coming along great picture size is fine nothing better than just scrolling down and having all the pictures there with no need to zoom.

Thanks. That answers my question I think will have to look for something around the 15x8 0 offset.

25k for this makes every person trying to sell their restored 240z or 260z worth so much more.. its not such a bad thing guys -
I did. My mistake :/

To be honest Andrew I wouldn't class your shell as very little rust! You have hardly scratched the surface trust me, bog can hide some pretty horrible things If your rust is in the chassis rails thats structural and a serious fix. If I was you and you where happy to wait to fix just wait till you can afford a 2 seater in better condition, just my 2 cents have a serious think buddy. I sat down and had the same think and decided I am to deep in and the rust has been fixed so I will continue

Visual and strength will be the same or similar. It all comes down to the ability to weld nothing to do with the welder unit (within its limitations). Some of the strongest welds are done with a fluxcore "gasless" type wire. Practice, practice, practice.
-
Pete your car has made me appreciate the factor z rims so much more now. I was going to get rid of mine but I might have to keep them. Very nice work well done Chris
-
All my welds are done with a gasless mig you have just got to know how to use it. Dont get me wrong a mig welder with gas is great and comes out mint. Get some mild steel sheet and practice if I get a chance this weekend I will see if I can make a small video on welding with gasless.

I can confirm BJ85 definitely fit a 260z. Just fitted them to mine. Ebay ball joints are way over priced my local auto shop got them for $20 each and the cheapest on ebay I have seen is $38+ postage

I cant wait for the day till I can take it for a spirited drive through the hills. It will make all this worth wile.
