  10. what car? if it's a 240z, 10 wide with -32 offset, it would be poking even with flares. I have 9.5 - 14 or something and it's 1mm from the flares.
  11. damn those door cards and plastics seems to be in good nick, very tempting...
  12. figured out what happened, the coil itself was no good, fortunately for me the motor came with a coil which I never had thought to use, plugged it up and it fired into life but it's spitting petrol everywhere. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152876520694328 it's also really loud and won't respond to the throttle. not sure what to do now.
  13. hi everyone, I've removed my L24 and put in an L28 into my 240z. Tried starting it today, fuel is there, but it's not producing spark. The motor has an electronic dizzy, and it didn't have the ignitor module so I purchased one from the z shop. wired it up (there was 2 wires within the dizzy it was really short but I somehow managed to get it connected to the bottom of the ignitor. The other two wires were on the top of the igniter with B and C labeled on each of the terminals. B went to the + side of the coil C went to the - side of the coil on the + side of my coil I also have a constant 12v to power the coil. (I am not sure where the source of this 12v is from.) and on the - side of the coil, I have a wire which is used to pulse an autometer tacho and another wire which is earthed. so new spark plugs, new fuel, I can see fuel is being supplied because it was spewing from the banjo bolt which I had forgotten to properly tighten up. I took a spark plug off and had it touching the motor and gave it a crank and no spark at all. Anything else I should check?
  14. they look like replicas of SR Recaro, check the adjustments knobs if they have the recaro logos, and made in germany etc. the replicas won't have those details. Check the bottom of the rails there should be serials of some sort. Take a pic of the bottom side of the seat. The fabric looks poor from the photo but it could be light etc. I hope I'm wrong.
  15. selling an injection parts off an L28 so I have 2 sets of inlet manifolds, both with fuel rails and injectors. one has all the emission gear removed and one hasn't $150 each I have a surge tank with the associated lift pump and high pressure fuel pump - $80 for that. and ems stinger 4424 ecu that was used to run the injection, it has a map sensor built in, requires a loom plug though which you can buy from ems themselves. - 200 pick up from braybrook or cairnlea or shipped at your expense cheers
  16. http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k181803325 solex 40mm triples with L6 manifold, not sure if L series looks like it. 60k yen
  17. the motor had an efi setup and had a ems stinger 4424 ecu wired to it I think it was connected to that. so I can buy a MSD6AL and hook it up to that?
  18. it was of a (very well) running car before I took the motor out. the module is not missing, it looks like it just never had one. will take a pic tonight. I am looking at the old loom and spare parts and there's no ignitor or anything like that as well.
  19. Hi guys I am about to put in an L28 into my z, just planning and making preparations with replacing parts whilst the engine is out etc, one of the things that looked different is the distributor that came with the motor I got. I don't have a picture at the moment but it's a hitachi one (I can see the logo) has a vacuum advance thing on the side, and 2 wires coming out from inside where the spinning thing is located. It doesn't have a small black plastic module thing that you would usually see with the eletronic L28 dist. It's not a petronix converted one, and it's not a points one (I had point not long ago and sold it to retro z) There is a black and red wire I think coming out on the side. Do I just hook these wires to the coil? thanks Phil P.s I did do some research and there was a page that mentions how there are 3 types of dizzy and I've got the first one I think, it fits the descriptions but I wanted to make sure and also ask how would I wire this up ?
  20. I've got one, I just need to take it out.
  21. jesus.. 97k at the moment that's so good
  22. still at work I have a pic of it on my motor. not close up of the holes to see how it's all sparkling clean inside
  23. But mine will save you money.
