  1. 9.5k 2 seater, looks reasonable http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/burleigh-waters/cars/datsun-260z-for-sale/1004038814
  2. mine
  3. Whilst they're reviving the 240z, they should revive the RB engine and put that in. Use some old technology to keep the price down.
  4. Hahaha yes. I'm bringing my A game this time.
  5. I'm in!
  6. Welcome! Depends what look you are after but if you want the car to have a nice stance, I recommend not going any bigger than 16". 15 and 16s look great, any bigger and the car will sit too high from the ground.
  7. Shipping is like 150-200 bucks. Just save the effort and support the guys business and get it shipped. Everything costs more in Australia too so are you sure you'd come out ahead?
  8. My prediction: Will be called 240z. Will be a straight 6 turbo 2.4l. Have a very similar body shape at the rear, front end will be less influenced by previous Z's. 2 doors, 4 seats. 35k. Makes most sense to revive 240z because it is iconic, first z, looks best, and there is an option to revive 260 and 280 if it's successful.
  9. Nice wheels. I love the engine bay, black ignition leads would make it look a bit cleaner I think.
  10. Accounting is like fixing a car. It's daunting if you've never done it before, but really you don't even have to have finished high school to be able to do it, just need to do some reading. I'd suggest reading up on the PSI test on the ATO website and make a self assessment. If you don't agree with your accountants ruling, then try to fix it. If you do, then best to call the ATO often. It is possible to have fees and even interest waived in some cases. An option to you could be still to make an ammendment to your tax return, which you can do for up 5 years after that year. So time is running out there. Also, after the 5 years (or maybe 7, something like that), the tax office can't pursue you for anything you've done wrong on your prevoius tax returns, unless they've already started a case with you. So really your old accountant did you no service by bringing up this thing when close to 5 years is up. You should get a new Accountant.
  11. In my honest and often wrong opinion, put them where you like, doesn't matter if it's original or not. The zed is great cause you can do all sorts of modification to it, airdam, flares, rear spoiler, wheels, etc etc and as long as it's tasteful, the community embrases it. All sorts of personalisations are in scope, and that's a very good thing. I attempted to fit the fender mirrors as per the diagram and I didn't like where it placed them. It doesn't mean the diagram was wrong, I just didn't like the original, just as I don't like the original front end without an airdam. So I put them somewhere else. Put them where you like, the s30 looks amazing, has aged incredibly well, but it isn't perfect so do as you please to make it your own.
  12. yeah there are two bolts that as Phil said. Face plate is held on by the tuning and volume nobs.
  13. that will last all of about 20 seconds.
  14. Probably around 4k.
  15. nice grill though
  16. My parents own a big 4wd that has "Sedan" on the rego. And there are 4 door "coupes". Point being these terms are used very loosely. When someone says, WTB 240z or 260z coupe there is no doubt what they mean, they want a 2 seater. When someone says they own a 260z coupe there's no doubt what that means. When someone is selling a 2+2 and says WTS 260z coupe and no where does it say that it is a 2+2 that is totally misleading. Sure there are pictures but those new to the scene might not pick it as easily.
  17. I still think I'm right. Yes technically both could be called coupe's but coupe is a very loose term. I think with 260s it is used as a term to differentiate 2 seat from the 2+2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_S30 ctrl+F "coupe", each time it is referring specifically to the 2 seater to differentiate it from the 2+2. Search this site for coupe and you will read things like: "Once i got there, i found out it was a coupe, not a 2+2 like i was expecting." More evidence: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/thread29015.html
  18. I always thought coupe is a very loose term with no standard definition and when it came to 260z, assumed coupe refered to the 2 seater version. Am happy to stand corrected, as I usually get it wrong when it comes to cars
  19. yellow seater? like it only seats asians? Jokes aside that is a 2+2 not a coupe.
  20. I think you mean DANGER Will Robinson. Sheesh I'm a Gen Y and I know that.
  21. 22 is such good value in my eyes for this car. Just need to wait for the right buyer.
  22. 15 or 16 looks better if you can find them.
  23. +2 on the points Chartoo +1'd. Again thanks Freddy for taking the an interest and the time to work on this! I'm sure our collective ideas will get a really good product out that might even get interest from overseas.
  24. Yeah thanks Freddy!!! You're the maaaaaan!!!!! Agreed 2 is my favourite but less aggressive, softer lines that follow the body.
  25. looks like you might have another best 260z award in the bag come christmas
