  1. Anyone got one tucked away & want to sell? PM details Thanks
  2. It was regularly updated. Siddins had an electrical drama & did not complete last stage of Day 3 - retired from event following day, Gainer has had regular problems of some kind but has managed to continue with considerable time penalties added etc, Cardinaels had some kind of engine/mechanical drama but check website - look at targa live comments etc
  3. Umm It happens very quick with turbo power! Only my suggestion but give the 4th to second downchange a miss- as combined with an LSD etc. you can too quickly end up in the direction you came from! GREAT DRIVE THOUGH
  4. Well - when Tom is willing to consider his options (in his own time) - I have a rear half cut that I could be persuaded to donate. The front half already helped a mate out from an argument he had with a gum tree in Classic Adelaide in 2008. As the saying goes "if ya fall off ya bike - best get back on it soon!" I understand the financial hurt of these projects - so just a small way to assist.
  5. Orange one is Richard Galley's old Tarmac zed - Les Collins L series too!
  6. I have had good experience with debeer epoxy primer used it straight after sandblasting - POR 15 on rust repair sections/repair work following the sandblast/epoxy prime
  7. Suggest you go with the Hankook Z214 as it is a very consistent tyre through its life & available in both soft or medium compounds. Alan Stean in Brisbane is Hankook Motorsport agent (Z Car Racing PH 07 3808 2755) and has good stock available now in the country. We all tend to use the size he has in stock 225/45/15 (ideal for 8 inch rim) Most zeds up here are running on them & very happy .
  8. Several of the NA cars in Qld have been tested at Lakeside & recorded early 90's dB
  9. Behave you two Some people have to work you know!
  10. $25k to this the stage shown in photos Honestly, even a good zed will set you back $5k in bodywork before painting & some will set you back $10 - $15k in rust repairs before you get to bodywork!
  11. Will he need a bigger tank Peter? Be good to see him take some time back off that blue Ford perena supercar!
  12. Knew that one was coming! Settle on now boys - we all have something in common "cars & race circuits" where we can use them properly! BTW: Sorry Jason - I have not made it back up the hill for a New Years drink - will rectify this Sunday if your about?
  13. Hi Paul, Well done! Must say I had my doubts on how this would turn out :-\ But think I would like to convert one of my race cars now! Cheers
  14. Hi Sorry could not find my 'spare set" - must have either given away or lost
  15. Hi I may have a "spare set" will need to check on condition & get back to you. I can not remember colour of them - but is that important? Regards
  16. My guess is Underwood Brakes Plus? A few years back they did some technical brake talk stuff for the club & they didn't seem unreasonable. Hope it's not them - BUT if so you may be able to tackle the issue with some assistance from Alan Stean (Z Car Man) who has used these guys. Just speculating - but let's get the name & location out there

    L28 cam cover

Hi I have one available for sale:) See if you can get one a little closer to home - but mine available if you get stuck. I think mine has the older style Nissan (smaller writing as per earlier L series motors). Can photograph & send you a picture tomorrow if you give me an email address.
  19. Good Stuff - on the way to MP
  20. Sounds like SCRC ??
  21. Vendor finance option sounds like a good way to move it on Jason! Combined with your download of knowledge - it would be a irresistible package for someone to go racing!
  22. Fuel price check today in Brisbane (The Gap) 91 ron unleaded Petrol 1.36/litre diesel 1.53/litre If your towing the sums are worse when you realise the fuel companies are pricing in the economy difference between petrol/diesel :'(
  23. Hi Guys, After 8 years hauling my Tarmac Zed all over the place - I am a 4WD man through & through Mass = safety, as a fully loaded zed car and trailer travelling at 100kph+ will soon dictate! I have used both Petrol & Diesel with a slight preference to Petrol for overall performance. Cars used as follows: Toyota Prado 120 series 4WD 4.0 V6 Petrol 2004 - 2009 average fuel usage towing 17-18 l/100 (though if you sit on steady 140kph across the Hay Plains in NSW on way to Adelaide it's 22 l/100!) Toyota Hilux SR5 Dual Cab 4WD 3.0 TD CR Diesel 2010-early 2012 average fuel usage towing 12 - 15 l/100 Toyota Prado 150 series 4WD 4.0 V6 Petrol average fuel usuage towing 15 -17 l/100 In summary - I just prefer the added "punch" the Petrol motor delivers for overtaking etc - though I do appreciate the low down torque a diesel delivers. If budget was not a barrier the Landcruiser V8 twin turbo diesel is simply unbeatable for all round performance/comfort - shame we all have a budget :'(
