  1. Haha. I wish I had those fab skills.
  2. Hey Mate Many S30 owners run 7” - 8” wheels with 0 offset and they remain just inside the guards, pending tyre choice of course. I run a couple different wheels sets on my 240z Road wheels are 15x7 0 offset with 205/60/15 tyres and they stay completely inside the guards. Track wheels are 15x8 +4 offset with 225/50/15 tyres. They are just inside the guards but I have been getting tyre scrubbing on the wheel arch lip under heavy cornering and over bumps. Hopefully this will get rectified with rolling the inner lip of the guards. Its also worth pointing out that I also have about -2.5’ camber which pushes the tyre out slightly compared to standard. Im assuming you intend to have flares? As I don’t think it is legal to run the tyre proud of the guard? I’m not sure what you mean by m and l type discs? I can’t see a link to a website? Personally I wouldn’t go for your chosen offsets but, I’m not sure I understand the look you are trying to achieve. Where are you located? Maybe try and catch up with some other z owners and look at their wheels, before laying down the cash. These photos are with the track wheels the night before the - camber got dialled in.
  3. That all sounds pretty reasonable. I use my car mostly for supersprints, often hosted at Eastern Creek. Generally I find the original brakes to be quite adequate up to 6 or so quick laps, by then I have quite a soft pedal so have been looking at various brake upgrade options. I like the mk63 option the most for a variety of reasons but mostly because it was an OEM offering. Please keep us posted on how things go. Particularly if you do any track work with it. Cheers
  4. That is fantastic! I know there’s a bunch of other options out there but, I really like the factory option vented disc. How easy was it to get all the bits and bobs like caliper kit, pistons and pads? And..... how much did you spend all up? Great work, love it.
  5. That’s a cracker Gav.
  6. Wow! That’s a big call considering the level of your car. Lots of awesome parts ? I honestly do not have a problem with the original steering.
  7. Nice. I think we should all chip in and get one for Richard.
  8. Wow! That sounds awesome. Imagine how tiring that would be.
  9. Wow! Doing a 2:31 around Bathurst and you think he should get an auto. FFS you write some bizarre things on this forum.

    Seat Belts

My ‘72 has different belts but my ‘71 1600 has similar Kangol belts. I think they are of interest to some people if you don’t want them.
  11. Lurch, I’ve watched that meme or whatever it’s called at least a dozen times but I don’t get it. Call me old.
  12. Nomex is the constituent in current race suits I think. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nomex
  13. I’m with Lampy. Do it Dave. ?
  14. Yeah, tuning carbs (of all types) is unfortunately becoming a dying art.
  15. I think you need different needles to suit your engine requirements. By putting the vehicle on a dyno and monitoring the co2 levels this can be confirmed. At the moment you have been discussing idle mixtures but, I think you will find that the mixtures will not be correct under load and this is a far more important time to have mixtures correct. Lean mixtures under load can lead to engine damage!!!
  16. Yep, I have a spare in the shed too. Happy to take pics for you if you like. The Pierce linkages are very good in my opinion with a 3/8” shaft unlike the 1/4” shafts supplied by many others. I also like the cranks they supply. Pm me your number and I’ll send you some pics if you like.
  17. The benefit I see to getting the stub axles to suit the Subi diff is that you then have access to multiple ratios for cheap. I have 3.9:1 and 4.625:1 ratios at a cost of half of getting 2 Datsun diffs converted to LSD. And cheap to replace if something goes wrong. For me I like the option of ratios to suit different tracks. The 3.9 suits the long tracks, whereas the 4.6 is well suited to the shorter tighter tracks and probably hill climbs too.
  18. Check out Pierce. https://www.piercemanifolds.com/product_p/99003.829.html
  19. I thought the green hornet was a track orientated road car. I think I’ve seen videos of it towing a trailer with track tyres to the track.?
  20. The perfect trip. ? I like the way you suggest I’m young. My kids don’t think so ?
  21. Wow! $100-$150 sounds great. Where do you buy wrap material?
  22. I hope you change your mind back again ? Looking forward to info and pics either way though Dave. Many moons ago I saw a laurel with an l20a in it. It looked very similar in size to a 1600. I wonder how much work there is to get a 6 into a 1600.
  23. That’s great Peter, looks like a nice itenerary. How’s the car going? Holding onto all 4 wheels I hope ? Mick Edit. Nice wheels Mick
  24. Dave, I think I remember you were thinking of putting a twin cam head on the L series. If you do go this route, please keep us updated with pics and info. Cheers Mick
