  5. Yer no problem Gav had some time away from datsuns after working at Les collins shop i did not want to do them anymore with out Les , but i have mist it and am working from my shop at home ,porting and engine work ,hope to get a new car again some time soon ..

  9. and have it ground on a Nissan cam , internal oil is the go , on a B cam is the best , do away with any spray bar there just not the best way to go , at slow speed the oil is just not there to do the job , wade will charge about 140 for the job , then you will need lash pads springs and retainers ,

They really are sub par cams every lobe I have checked has been different , there all based on works cams , but the centreline is different , also seen them hard on rockers , there is lots in fitting a big cam , much care has to be taken in setup , if you want the best hot road cam the 1308 wade is the go but it has to have 3/45 carbs and head work and springs and retainers , this works in the mid from 3500 to 7500 in a 2.8 to 3.2 , Owen has one , ask him how it goes

The bigger the better , all the girls know that , , forget big revs make max torque at 4000 and power at 6500 and it will flog a engine that makes power at 7500 to 8000 on the road , go to a racetrack and have 4.3 diff and CR box and then the big rev and hp engine will shine ... 2.4 are only good for one thing racing in that class ... that's it
  12. There are big port gaskets out there we have them in stock , there 40mm , all our race ports are 40mm on the big engines , but as its a road car 38mm is about it , ,make your inlet 38 and you will be fine
  13. yes no more 50mm OERS but you can get 50mm webers, and if you get real cool and have the cash 50mm solex are the best , love them ,if you can find them , expect to pay 5k for a nice set 45mm carbs max out at 310hp engine on a L

  15. the thing that most get wrong is the head , strokers need more air , and port volume , and bigger carbs 48mm at min then they must have a 3in exhaust , a good stroker will be 180kw atw for a 3.1 and a good 3.4 will make 200 to 210 atw , and it will run on pump 98 easy , try getting that with a 2.8L na

  17. Its funny how people think strokers don't rev , they rev as hard as any L motor , we have them at 7500 for the street engines and 8500 for race engines with 90mm stroke , and after driving the big motors you would never want to go back

  20. hey dat2kman the only way you will get more is with a turbo lol your at the top end now , cams will not make much more now
  21. its not a good race cam at 50 is way short , slow at 50 just means It will rpm but wont make power , the 654a has 264 at 50 and has 550 lift and 314 deg , power come in at 4000 and goes to 7500 on a 2.8, on 3.4 and 3.2 power is from 3800 to 7500 . we have a new cam that runs 620lift and 315deg 274 at 50 , this cam needs 12.5 comp and cubes power from 4 to 8500
  22. yep there so under rated , till you drive with a close ratio box , you just don't know how good a car it can be .
  23. Jake you can not look at that price , your box has all new parts and short shifter, and option 1 shifter mods, and waterjet cleaned cases and the labour to do the job ,its not the same thing
