So now all the ports are done i had steve at EFI hardware do a dummy tb to do some tests.steve made up a 55mm itb with a tapper down to 52mm .the aim of my test was to see how well the tb would perform on the os head would it drop much ..what bell and shape would flow best .and how much did the thratal shaft and blade hurt flow ..these tests are hard to work out some times and most times you walk away not knowing what to do . But in this case i got a few good ideas on what the tb liked in the bell shape and which way the shaft needed to be set up.and how long the manifold wanted to be to flow the same hp as the head ..the last test of the day i removed the shaft and butterfly. To my surprise it only picked up 2 cfm 301cfm from 299cfm.all going well 445 to 450hp is on the cards at 8500

305 cfm and the right x section for 8500 on the 3.35 makes 460hp ..thats crazy hp if i get to 450 its just going to blow my mind ..im loving the build ..lots of mods to the block oil feeds for exhaust cam .and water ways .its a bit of a challenge.

Ports are looking very nice now its taking some time to get something that works on such a big engine. .
  9. It really is a drivers car .built to drive in any situation. From a quiet drive in the country on any fuel he finds . Or go to the track remove the traler and fit some race tyres and kick ass all day then drive her home .its still got a heater and stereo carpet and full dash its a road car .not a full blown racer ..if it was 500lb lighter like the gtu cars .i hate to think how fast it would be

  13. Yes not to many zed fans in the USA will go the extra mile to build a L motor right. Gregs one in million
  14. Thats fantastic. Thats some car your going to have .
  15. The car is owned by one of the best blokes he just loves the car so much .how it come to be is not what this is about . The work done by all involved was driven by wanting to build the ultimate road race engine package. In the end les Collins racing pulled that off. Something that im so very proud to have been part of .

So first day back i had to know how well the os24b1 head flows stock and then with a good port to clean up a few problems. Well first time on the bench it was quite clear the port was very small .and went in to choke and stoped flowing at 350 thou lift but still flowing 376hp . Next i spent several hours doing the port and fixing the seat area. Well i was very surprised. 440hp flow first test ..i think 450hp flow is not going to be tuff to find
