  1. MATE did we change cams lol 3 times , and pipes we tryed 3 combos with all cam combos , we tryed so hard to get the torque up , in the end it got the 1308 cam , 590Lift 300deg and the SW race pipes , the big pipes lost a bit down low around 15ftlb , they were better after 5000rpm all the way to 7500 but as a road car the small pipes had to go on , also the big cam just did not work in your EFI combo.
  2. Tuff road engine
  3. No its right on the limit mate , but its OK . It made 310 hp and 265 ft lb made power all the way to 7300 with the small cam and small pipes , it was a tuff dyno session 2 days and we tryed every trick to make it work
  4. well its still on the dyno , Les and i had a hard time with the tune its at 300hp at 7000 but we are still tuning and making different pipes , and adjusting the cam , maybe changing the cam , also the injectors are maxed out now ,... its been a hard slog but tomorrow will see more tuning and i will get back to you with a video
  5. i think it will be ok mate, but its easy to do some checks , drive down some time and i will check it out
  6. If you want Gareth you can bring it to the shop and i will put a camera in the plug hole and have a look in there , and do a comp test and then make a decision
  7. Gareth to call your self clueless is so harsh , your car is a real head turner and the way you have made it your own is stunning , top job man keep trying and you will get the skills, it takes years to get the know how , you have done a better job than many pros . Mya is hard, one day i may have the skills to be as good as her ...
  8. All good mate glad it ended well, Mya said you should not play with it lol ,
  9. You don't set the wipe to the center it has to wipe to the pivet side. Your valves are long so you don't need big lash pads
  10. Gareth you have the wrong lash pad in . Please call me
  11. i always fit a new oil cooler on every build -10 fittings and at least 13row , factory oil coolers are not up for a hot engine with double the factory hp , have a look at the earls rang of coolers there not dear and there top quality. A good oil cooler will make your bearings last so much longer and will keep the water temp down as well , one more thing if you run a aftermarket sump like the Arizona z one the oil will run up to 10c cooler with out a oil cooler there ally construction and fins really rip the temps down also if the engine has had a blow up throw the cooler out you can never get them clean , no mater how hard you try clean them , every race team has this policy and for good reason
  12. The 5 th gear in this type off setup is only for the road so you can cruze at 3000 , the rest is for track work , and yes this motor has 12 deg less on the cam so it makes torque lower in the range ,
  13. YER Jake the only ratio that needs to be diffrent is 5 gear, the rest are nice and close and that's what you want with the torque at 5500 , Owens engine will make max torque at 4900 to 5200 , so it will run a .75 5 th and still drive nice
  14. yes its made by nsk , fit new bearings 80/90 lol
  15. hear is some pics off the new stroker crank getting made , and it going thru heat treatment to destress it before it gets finished
  16. yer Xnke i spent some time looking for your gear ratios and only 1 make sense , the first gear is a normal Nissan ratio but the 2 3rd gears don't work at all , with Owens he is using a 4.3 diff and i have fitted a .75 5Th gear so it will be at 3000 at 110 ,
  17. Man if i ported a head and it had 10 cfm different between ports Les would kick my ass, i flow every port and 3 cfm is the max I'm aloud ,
  18. Gareth the gears set is from kameari , its a 1st 2nd 3rd set and we have fitted a 5 gear so he can cruze with the 4.3 diff , for one there a much stronger gear set , and when you fit the big cams you dont want a gappy gear set like most jap boxes 2nd to 3rd is just to wide , and the motor falls off the cam and thats not cool ....
  19. The new cr fj20t box is done
  20. Nice bloke at this shop , he does some cool builds , love the blue zed
  21. At cruse the 152 carbs are not good, at full throttle there fine , the 45 dell carbs are a better thing buy far , if its a road car rebuild the dell 45s
  22. The dellortos we had trouble with were 40mm alfa carbs , they are very different from 45 dellortos , you can still get parts for them and can be tuned very well some say there better than Weber's ,people are seared off them because there the forgotten carb , but there a fine carb if the tuner has some experience
  23. i think he ment this one
  24. HAHAHA AKEEM MC
  25. Love the solex carbs for the L there a treat to work with , and for the L 28 go with the 44 every time , the new webers have nothing on the old solex carbs , if you can find some 13 webers from the Italy there very good as well , pay a bit more for the old carbs and your car will drive so much better , look on yahooo japan they come up from time to time , we got some last week
