  1. Plenty of quality parts out there but 98% of people dont want to pay for it.
  2. HI I have a 2004 Holden dual cab rodeo, 3Lt turbo diesel. Probably the best tow car Ive had. Biggest trip Ive done was to Warwick QLD to pick up my early Z and coming back with the car, spare engine, box, suspension bits etc etc it used $20 dollars more diesel then going there. Sits on 110kmh no probs until you come to a hill of coarse, that's only ever a problem when your in a rush but i don't tend to be rushing with car in tow. Unloaded its great on fuel plenty of room inside and the ute back is usefull to say the least. think you would get one for less that 15 no probs. before that i had an XR8 ute and although hills didn't slow it down it used so much more fuel day to day. Hope that helps Paul
  3. I have an early Z without matching engine. Would i like the matching engine YES I dont think it will make any difference to the value of the car, as long as its an L engine in there the difference would be bugger all. Doesnt need to be matching numbers engine for historic/club rego, It does need to be correct engine for the car. so not an RB or LS1. Any L series 6 cylinder will work. Cheers Paul
  4. HI Problem here in SA is there is only a couple of spots you can get it and have confidence that its the octane they say it is. I would run it in my RB26 Z but cant be bothered going to get it in Jerry cans. I must admit when you are trackside or at the top of the hill climb waiting to come back down and an E85 car blasts past and you get that sweet sweet smell it almost makes me want to change. Paul

  7. Hi All Have this set of triples that cam on my early Z that i will no longer need, They worked great on the car and have only just been on a friends L26 but he wants to go bigger. I am happy to freight at your expense. They are on a ported lynx manifold what you see is what you get best offer over $1000 Regards Paul I will list on evilbay if not sold within a week or so
  8. HI All Had a great day at the track today except for finding out my oil cooler is not up to par with the engines requirements. After a call to Darren Lewis for some advice i was advised not to risk engine so only done 6 laps. Done a PB of 1.17.8 but with one eye on the gauges its hard to give 100%. Thanks to the Auszcar members that came out for a look it was great to meet a few of you and i hope you guys had a good time and it was worth the trip. Cheers Paul
  9. I will be there for sure
  10. HI Gareth i think you may have confused me with someone else, i am no engine expert, I can hold my own against some engine builders but not the likes of Pete Mc. As Pete said oil is getting in the chambers and comp test isn't definitive so i would be pulling it down. Cheaper to find it now than have bits of engine go through your exhaust pipe Cheers Paul
  11. Hi I would agree with Agno, Series 1 240z with the rear vents in the hatch not the rear 1/4's Paul
  12. HI Peter I'm jealous mate that trip is high on my bucket list. A friend of mine went this year as well and loved it. Cheers Paul

    FJ20 Gearbox

Hi All I am after the front bellhousing section from an FJ20 gearbox. I need this to sit my engine on the opposite angle to what an L normally sits. If someone has a box i am more than happy to give them the front of my Z box or just buy. Can be blown up as long as front is useable. Regards Paul
  16. HI Roger Sorry mate cant get there this year, spewin. I always try to support the club but bad timing I'm afraid. Have a great day. Will be at Mallala for last sprints on Oct 21 you in that as well ? Cheers Paul
  17. Hi Pete I would do engine red, i like the engine to be a colour so you can easily see leaks etc, Black tends to hide stuff. I Love the new cloth lines, i will be using them in abundance Cheers Paul
  18. HI FWIW i can confirm the measurements on page one. We restored an early Z at work that had original fender mirrors as the owner purchased the car new. The measurements where within a couple of mm of the diagram and not the same left and right Cheers Paul
  19. HI Yeah he does headers as well, If your concerned about the cost of the engine parts you definitely wont be buying these Cheers Paul
  20. Hi guys look forward to meeting a few of you guys, there is usually 3 or 4 Zeds at the sprints. I am working on Chris Ferguson to get him to come as well, His and Tim Knapstiens car at 8000rpm are a bloody treat to the ears, Peter Hall is clerk of coarse so he doesn't usually run at the sprints. Also have another friend with 260z that is getting Weber's put on next week coming as well. Should be good day Cheers Paul
  21. Hi Chaps Have entered the Super sprints at Mallala on Oct 21st Will take the Go pro and link some vids soon after cheers Paul
  22. Hi pedro Take it to Regency for an inspection, If it passes that it should pass in NSW. Cheers Paul
  23. Hi Lads Its a bit hard at the moment to say exactly cost due to different language, but i am looking at the basic parts to convert IE cam cover, sprocket cover, intake manifold, sump, adjustable timing sprocket and chain. its looking around 5g mark but i will confirm for you. Now i am not after horsepower I'm after a look and i know if i spent that on a L head it would probably make more power but I'm after the look. Cheers Paul
  24. Hey guys I am actually in discusions with Sato at the moment for the gear to run the RB30 head on my resto. Would any one else be keen. Cheers Paul
  25. Hi Horrible worn out over used beaver Nice Virgin Beaver Maybe guys when posting to save the thread getting to busy just keep it simple here, by all means post heaps of pics in your build thread and maybe a link in this post but would be nice to keep this thread as an info thread. Garvice what you have posted is fine this isn't directed at you but it got me thinking of setting a basic rule to try to minimize the thread, Nothing worse than going back through pages of stuff. Cheers Paul
