  1. There is a heaven, Can i go there
  2. HI Mike The standard skyline one fits in ok, Just have to make some brackets. I have an Alluminium aftermarket one for a skyline just had to dent the chassis rails about 3mm each side and it fits great. Regards Paul
  3. HI Chino Here is a pic of another members car around the area behind the battery box. You can see that is is straight compared to yours. If your panel beater hasn't got the measurements for a Z they are available on the net just do a search, Think they are on a project on here as well . Cheers Paul
  4. Hi Chino Looks like you have some work to do. I would definitely recommend getting the crash shop to put it on a rack and check the measurements. That pic you have of the LH inner guard and battery box area looks bad. The firewall behind that rail should be flat not all folded under like it is. Its no big deal and fixable but its easy to do it now. Hate you to spend thousands on body etc to find out it cant be wheel aligned cause it isn't square. Cheers Paul
  5. HI Linc Sorry to tell you man but your chances of getting something for that amount of money are very very small. Let alone one that runs and doesn't require much work. Best of luck Paul
  6. Hi Donald Best thing to do is ring Regency and see what they will allow. Cant see why turbo charging your l28 wouldn't be allowed without an engineers report but if you do a swap with an RB or LS1 etc etc you will need to get a report done maybe even brake/suspension upgrade. As i said ring up Regency to get definite answer. Cheers Paul

  8. Hi Mick Spoke to the guy with the 2+2 and he informed me that it is tottally rusted to pieces, He got it with the another car purely for the running gear. So this one would need to much work man i will keep my ears open for you though Regards Paul
  9. HI My comments where not just specific to Pete, They are a general comment on the way posts have been heading lately luvemfast, yeah sorry i am a hands on person so English was never my strong point lol. As i restore vehicles not just patch them up the way i would tell people to do stuff would cost a considerable amount more than just a can of bog and some pressure pak paint, and most people don't want to spend money. So yes maybe not posting may be a problem as well but that is what Pm's are for. Maybe i am from a different generation where you would go and talk to people face to face where you can get the tone of there voice and no if its a light hearted comment or a serious dig. Regards Paul
  10. Hi All I read almost all comments and post on here as I'm a big Z fan and any info i can get to make my Z ownership better is much appreciated. But i also have allot of knowledge to share but have learnt from other forums to keep my opinions to myself as there is always someone who thinks they no everything about everything and will be quick to burn a comment or advice that they think is wrong. Lately i have noticed the burning is getting out of hand to the point where a very well regarded person who by the way i have never met but has given me advice on this forum free of charge, is no longer posting If this burning continues more and more people with great knowledge of Z's and there workings will just disappear, especially us older guys that have many other things we could be doing. As far as I'm concerned there is always a way to put your thoughts across without them being derogative or just plain rude. I have been restoring cars for many years and i laugh hard at some of the advice given to people on the ins and outs of fixing there bodywork, trim, mechanical because the advice is way off what should be getting done. But i do not correct these posts due to flamers. So if you don't have something to say that will help the questions asked by people just shut up, then more people may consider helping out. Lets see how long it takes till i get flamed Paul

There is nothing quiet like the sound of a strong triple carb L series is there. Great job Peter
  16. HI Thanks guys. I would guess around 180kmh. A friend had a rally car the with a monit tracker and his top speed for a run was 169kmh and his run was 49.2 sec Regards Paul
  17. Hi Lads Here is the footage i have put together from the 2012 Mt Alma hillclimb. Done a mash up of all the different camera angles that where taken on the car over the weekend some on Saturday when i had old rubber so those times where around the 49 sec mark. I Made few mistakes on that day, missed changes, missed apex's but hit nothing. My best run was the final with a 45.8 and was beaten by a full time attack RX7 with more wings than the airforce and by what i was told 450kw at the wheels and 800kg weight. From memory there wasn't many cars with a sub 46 second pass and i think only 3 2wd cars so all in all i was blown away by my result. Followed by a clean run with the camera hanging out the passenger window above the exhaust outlet with no music so turn that bit up and have your tissues handy. This run was a 49.2 on Saturday afternoon One thing i did notice with the footage is it doesnt do the steepness of this hill any justice. Hope you enjoy it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmYABmjGM2A&feature=youtu.be Regards Paul
  18. Hi All This is a compilation of a couple of different camera angles out side the car inside ones to come soon Enjoy
  19. HI I don't want to sound like a duesh but that gtr should not have crashed. We are all warned at the drivers briefing about this corner and how many incidents it has caused over the years The finish line at this track is by far the most dangerous part of the whole thing. The line is at the entrance of a corner and its about a 45 degree bend leading up to the bend it is a steep uphill and the crest of the hill is in the middle of the corner. Not to mention the bitumen road ends about 50 metres after the bend and it goes to loose dusty gravel. So all the cars pull up 200m further down until 50 cars come up then they close the road and we all drag gravel and dust back onto that finish corner. So as you can imagine it is bloody slippery. My approach speed to the finish line would be over 180kmh not 100% sure on this as i have no speedo but 8000 rpm shift light is on in 4th gear. I roll of the throttle 50m before and coast over with my heart about to pop out every time. It is up to the driver to be sensible here at most you might get .3 of a second if you push it to the line, But you can all see what the result can be. Not saying anything to offend anyone here but from my point of view .3 of a second is not worth a written of car let alone a year in rehab. Trust me we were all very glad that he got out of the car OK. This event is the most fun you could have in your car but you need to be sensible about it, If i went at 100% the whole run i would say there is still another second or so in it for me but then it goes from fun to risk your life. For me with wife, 2 kids and a dog it ain't worth it, Obviously for others the risk is worth the end result. Thanks for the kind words lads. On a sad note we did loose a really tidy red 260z at the same finish line corner. He carried to much speed onto the gravel and said hello to a large Australian native. He was fine as the car had slowed to about 20kmh before impact but we all know how flimsy the front of a Z is so it looked really bad. Needs bonnet guards bumper, They had finished the car 2 days earlier. Also the gold 240z had a very close call when the front left rim sheared of the seats around the wheel nuts and the wheel went one way and the car the other but it was at a slow enough speed that no real damage was done. Could have been bad at the high speed parts. Regards Paul
  20. HI ALL Yeah was a great day there. Devistating to see that R35 on is roof in the paddock. I Was waiting at the top of the track to come back down after my run and it isn't pleasent to see that. Kevins car looks Like it is going to kill you if you walk to close to it. Fantastic bloke to, Happy to tell anyone about his monster. I finished up 2ND in the RWD class with a time of 45.8 which is stupid quick. My mate is editing up the in car and on car footage so i will put some links up soon Roberto you should have come up to me and had a chat. Regards Paul
  21. Hi Hill climb on this weekend guys. Free for spectators and free parking. See you there
  22. HI All Just letting people know that the Mount Alma mile hillclimb is on again over the weekend of March 31st April 1st All details can be found here http://www.mountalmamile.com/Home.aspx Regards Paul
  23. HI Make sure who ever you use knows how to fix rust properly. We have fixed so many crap rust repairs from crash shops it makes me sick that these guys continue to just slap holes full off bog. and my all time favourite is just weld a bigger plate over the rust them hit it in and bog over. We have seen cars that have had 20mm + of bog from reputable shops. zzzzed does good work, So does AHP in Nairne and we do as well http://www.finchrestorations.com.au/ We are in Mount Barker Regards Paul
