  1. Hi Guys, Well the general opinion appears to be along the lines of what i was going for anyway which is "Dont Stuff with it to much as its a pretty early car" So Thanks all for your input . Regards Paul
  2. Hi Yes well ill be there RLY240 will be there also in his very tidy 240 Regards Paul
  3. Hi Scoota Yep that ones sweet. Dont like how high it is. Hope you guys had a good run home. Always good to meet other members problem here in SA is there aint that many. the colour looks like 918 Orange Katokid Thats one of my choices of colour and i do like the black bonnet Fuzzy dice a must have for any 70's car. Peter mc26, Thats why im not after a big horsepower road car asi have the RB in the track car that gets my speed fix out of the way so this will be a nice cruiser. Galderdi. Yes i do like the black bonnet look as you can tell by my other car , Do you have a pick of the tan ? Nizmozed, I dont have intensions to sell it but some times s**t happens and the toys are the first to go. If i put the flares on i would have to cut the arches out as i like my cars as low as i can get them and i dont think the look is worth the cutting. Regards Paul
  4. Hi Thanks for the opinions guys. The car has the 240 motor in it with triple Weber's so i think they will stay (cause they look good) It also has holinger gears in the box so i think its smart to keep that in for strength Also has an r200 but I'm thinking of going back to the r180 as I'm keeping the motor only mild cam and bit of porting with the Weber's so doesn't really need the r200. As for interior I'm going all original. No extra gauges or 1/2 cage . External I'm thinking of sectioning struts to get it lower. probably some 16" watanabe's to fill up the guards No flares . Although i like the look of the ZG flares i don't think i could do it to number 68. Love the mirrors on the front guards although useless . Colour choice at the moment is either Orange or Gold. Regards Paul
  5. Hey Guys As I'm restoring an early 240 (chassis 00068) i am wondering what you guys think is a good tastefull mod and what would be destroying an early 240. I will be starting a project journal soon. Regards Paul
  6. HI Its about 10 km out of Victor Harbour on the Adelaide side http://www.mountalmamile.com/ Should be a good event its my first time there so looking forward to it Think there will be at least 3 240/260's maybe more , There are pics on the competitors page but not every one has uploaded a pic http://www.mountalmamile.com/Competitors/CompetitorsImages.aspx Regards Paul
  7. Hi Didnt notice any drool on the road lol. I was heading out to Mallala to set up and test the new brakes etc. I was invited to a club day which was great as i got to take the missus out on the track. Scream scream scream ,pissing myself laughing at her , Oh well no more action for me. Im competeing in the Mt Alma hill climb on 2 and 3 April if you r doing nothing come down for a close look and a chat. Regards Paul
  8. Hi Paid another 370 for customs . Paul
  9. HI I got Front and rear LCA's, Steering arms, Solid diff mount, 6 piston 13" front and 4 piston rear was around au4500 delivered . Supperb value i thought. While the dollar is up anyway. Regards Paul
  10. Hi all I recently fitted the Arizona 6 piston front ,4 piston rear and went with the 1 " master and took it out on the track yesterday , after a few hairy moments with to much rear brake bias i would highly recomend the 1 " . Pedal travel and feel is to my satisfaction. But on standard brakes as others have said may be to hard to push. Regards Paul
  11. HI When we used Satin black it is a solid color so not clear over base and you have to leave it how ever it comes off the gun as polish makes it shiny again. A good painter will get a great finish of the gun anyway. Not sure on clear over . As sirpent said there is an additive for matting the paint bit im not 100% sure that if you block it back and polish it wheather it will still be satin. Don't go Matt Black as UV light kills it really quick. Regards Paul
  12. Hi Nice beast there. All the older cars that go hillclimbing etc usually have full steel wheels as the wires are renowned for flying to peices with the added grip of modern tyres Maybe thats why it was banned . Regards Paul

    Early 240z bits

Hi Dimitri Got surround today , Thanks Heaps Regards Paul
  15. I think the main problem will be clearance on the inside . The 9.5 rim goes in 6mm more and out 6mm more than the 9. Dont think it will clear unless you have coil overs . No harm im checking . Paul
  16. Hey premo I have a couple of 9.5's without tyres on them yet you can come up to work and borrow one for a trial fitment if you want, Let me know . Paul
  17. Hey 2 male Jack russels Yes im asking for trouble
  18. Hi She-ra By what i can tell most of the guys here are doing the rust repairs themselves and learning as they go because it is the most cost affective way to resore your car. When paying someone 70, 80 , 90 ,100 dollars per hour it can cost over 8g really quickly for a professional job just for rust and body and then you have to trust that the company you choose are doing the right thing by you. I have seen many cars that have been restored by companies that i would just push into the ocean. Even a Bathurst Monaro that had more bog in it than metal. Where i work have restored An early 240 and a late 240 and both cars were rather rusty one spent over 20g to complete his car one will be over 30g by the time its done. Doing it piece at a time will cost you more in the long run but not much. If you can drop of a rolling shell with all panels inside the car and put the car back together yourself you will save allot of money. Hope this helps Regards Paul
  19. Ha Ha +3 photoshop, If it was on Zed sites the heading would be "what not to do to your Z car" Man thats ugly
