  1. If you are a mechanic wouldn't you know the answer to your own question? Or were you hoping we'd tell you about that hidden button that zeds have on the dash that stops them from running on 4 cylinders and blowing smoke and oil after not running for five years. Do a compression check of each pot and see where you are.
  2. Nice work champ. Engine sounds great and she seems to handle well. Giving her a bootfull onto the straight looks fun. Go the LSZ brigade.
  3. I'm guessing you didn't cut your guards to fit the flares but they still look really good with those rims. Wheel spacers?
  4. Loads. I'll post em up when I return to the sunshine (currently flooding again) state.
  5. I'm getting it measured when I get back. Assuming too much rear toe in and too much front toe out for street use.
  6. Ok here are some of my pics. Sorry if the track photos arent close up, I dont have a big zoom. There is also a lot of ITB or inlet manifold porn.
  7. Send me a message with your address and I'll reply with my details. I'll be out of town til friday week so won't be able to post for a least two weeks. Cheers
  8. Welcome steve. The shift kits are still available as are exchange valve bodies. As for the upgrade to 5 stud hubs I can't help but someone else here might, otherwise check out hybridz.com which is another useful zed site. Cheers
  9. Wow what an unbelievable day. Such a long hike to and from Phillip island but totally worth it. Historic car heaven. It was great to meet Dimitri, Jason and Peter to put a face to a name. Took heaps of pics but I'll have to wait till I'm home to upload them.
  10. I was advised against using a softener in the paint for mine. They said the spoilers aren't going to flex any more than factory spoilers on late model cars these days and factories don't use it. Apparently it weakens the paint and makes it chip easier. just use the plastic primer as mentioned and give it a good sand and proceed like the rest of the panels. Thats how I did mine and it looks great.
  11. On which day is this convoy you speak of?
  12. So how is it looking lads? Is Sunday still the go for most people. It's freezing for a northerner here at the moment, and apparently a bit of rain predicted for Sunday? For the locals, I'm staying in Bayswater north, would it be fair to say it would take about an hour and a half to get to Phillip island first thing Sunday morning. Cheers
  13. How does it sound? And where are the injectors?
  14. different port spacing and wrong side.
  15. I never realised how similar the battery inspection covers were.
  16. Got any pics mate. Looking at making my own manifold too.
  17. That's not a BRE one is it?
  18. I am leaving for Melbourne on Thursday and I could put these in my luggage if someone in Melbourne wanted them minus the cost of postage. Let me know asap.
  19. An efi hardware ITB set up. Yes it will be very nice as well. Hear that NZeder, pull your finger out mate.
  20. Well **** me, flicking through the channels this arv around 4:3-pm and I see helicopter footage of a tsunami hitting Sendai. It was unbelievable live footage with no editing. There is going to be hundreds or thousands dead. And China had an Earthquake and Tsunami yesterday, NZ had an earthqauke recently. What is the world coming to. Is this the gearing up for 2012?? When I was a kid, you never heard of tsunami's before. And volcanoes where around when the dinosaurs were, now they're going off all over the world.
  21. The springs that went on the front are 6kgs. I should have mentioned that. Can honestly say I haven't noticed a big difference between them and the 4kg's I removed. The throttle bodies are off a CBR 929, basically any Honda sports bike above 600cc should have these exact throttles until 07-08 where they incorporated electronic warm up/idle control. They are 40mm. I think a lot of problems people face with tuning itb's is the increased size of the throttle surface area vs factory. For example my factory LS1 throttle body is 75mm across and big aftermarket ones are up to 100mm. The first thing you notice with a bigger throttle body is the increased airflow at smaller throttle movements as you would expect. With itb's the size or throttle plate surface area has a huge impact as follows: 1 x 75mm = 4416mm2 1 x 1000mm = 7850mm2 8 x 40mm = 10048mm2 (which is equal to one 113mm throttle body) 8 x 45mm = 12717mm2 8 x 50mm 15700mm2 As you can see by installing 55mm itb's on an LS1 you are increasing throttle surface area almost 4 times as much or at least twice the size of the biggest throttle body you can buy for existing custom single throttle body manifolds. Thats my theory anyway. I also understand that each cylinder requires air at different times in a single throttle body manifold so technically they all aren't fighting over the air coming through one throttle body at the same time. Where as with ITB's is one for one. Anyway I went for the smallest I could find and hopefully be able to pick up another 4 from somewhere else. cheers
  22. If that bonnet would fit in my hand luggage I'd be all over it.
  23. does it only do it when the engine is at its hottest?
  24. Tidied up the engine bay a bit today. Relocated the battery and pcm. One day soon I should be able to relocate the coil packs so it looks a bit more like a V8.
  25. You'll need a camera on your face like when clarkson drove the aerial atom on top gear.
