Fertan is the original which others have followed To quote a phrase " its simply the BEST " www.retro-uk.com/fertan.htm
  10. I"ll drink to that!!
  11. This was also an issue I had in the 280zx, the original lights were as weak as p-ss, so I tried a heavier capacity globe, this caused the cut out effect as mentioned, the electrical system has an inbuilt load limiter To remedy, I refurbed my spade fusebox and installed an Xenon set up with individual ballast units for each headlight, issue solved I now have lights as bright as a plane with less current draw than the original set up As also mentioned good earth sectioning is essential in older cars, the more the merrier, I run my main earth to an engine mount and of course a newer heavier output alternator is of value

Hello Mate 5 weeks Whoaaa Wipe the car down with fertan follow the directions for prep and blow it over with a good epoxy primer as youve noted Cheers
  14. Yep 1mm will do the trick Old habits die hard Ive always been on the overkill side of things, and yes I realize FG and CF replacement bumpers etc are widely used in stead of OEM I hope you get it done, I'll be very keen to see the results, sorry to hear about the short term loan of the MIG, a pain in the ar#e when your on a mission I assumed a heavier sheet as you have removed your rear end protection so to speak as theres not a lot out back otherwise, my thoughts were you were trimming the bumper mounts back a tad to weld an anti intrusion bar behind your new plate Cheers
  15. What are you using 2 mm - 3 mm plate? Cheers
  16. Hello Mate and Welcome Look forward to a couple of pics of your joy Cheers

  18. There will be many many varied opinions on this, some use ATF, I have seen sewing machine oil used, I have used a very light compressor oil

  22. Perhaps a new thread Lurch?? We could discuss this post at great length, however for those of us ( and I only speak for myself at present ) who have an interest in World and Local economics and procastinate over who may or may not be responsible for the position we are ALL in due to various factors rightly or wrongly and wonder how and when the f#*k we are going to get out of this one Normally I would ignore this type of comment and would dismiss it with the contempt it deserves, however in this instance, Im not real keen on gun toting R#dn#cks!! Even if he does own a Z car
  23. All Good Mate Enjoy
