  1. Look through the spark plug hole then (forgotten about this option). I could see the dish on my pistons with a well placed torch on the cylinder that was on TDC.
  2. I was going to say pull the head, your going to shave it anyway. Check the volume of the head chambers first, might already have been shaved.
  3. I always wondered why you dressed so funny.
  4. Saw a white s30 with molded in flares parked on comercial road in the valley. Didn't have a chance to look at it but from a distance it looked interesting.

    260Z shifter

Is this what you're talking about If so you can have it, but I think the shift knob might have been glued on (although I have never chucked it in a vice to see). Brad
  6. We may not be able to ask, but I am sure we can make wild assumptions/theories just like we did with lurch. E.G. I heard that you got so involved/attached to the sirpent Z that you actually accidentally bondoed your left hand into the spoiler. The last 2 months you have been in therapy from when they had to cut your perfect spoiler to get your hand out. Am I close?
  7. Get some detailing clay. It will get rid of rust spots in the paint. http://waxit.com.au/products.asp?cat=3 Brad
  8. If you say you have searched and haven't found anything then you haven't searched enough. This has been done many times, it is a cheap motor to build in the states, so check out the american forums, inparticular http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/forum/32-nissan-l6-forum/ or the starting line document http://www.xenonz31.com/s130/l28et.html Plus, best search topic is "l28et" You will find what you need there. I also have some parts for sale but postage would be a killer http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,6592.0.html
  9. What is up? Do you have a 240 or 260z? I have a spare one off a 260z if you want to compare?
  10. I thought steve looked none impressed that they both had to clog up the photo of the Z.
  11. Are you really that young mate (Looks like year 12 formal), or are you just a cradle snatcher?
  12. I would be borderline if they were perfect badges. I quite like the badges, but your car looks pretty cool how it is.
  13. This is what I am talking about, check out the holes in these photos http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/51265-weight-reduction-mods-240z/page__view__findpost__p__454178?s=719ac43842a06f41ffc79a31dd5a81de
  14. Dont use the clutch to shift, that way you only need one leg (at least 15-20kg there). Not sure about the other 40kg though. Seriously though, your doing well mate. Do you still have the original dashboard? Have you thought about cutting holes in your interior panels then using one of those dies to lip the hole (I.E. Have a hole with a lipped edge so you dont weaken the steel). I have a mental blank at the moment so cannot think what they are called.
  15. If you don't have nice badges then I would leave them off. I do like all the badges (especially the quarter panel ones), but unless you can get smick ones I think they will detract from your paint job. If you do find smick ones then go for it, it will look great.
  16. Lurch has picked up one of those jobs with ASIS. You can tell because he is trying to hide secret messages for his other ASIS colleagues in plain site.
  17. Haven't looked on Ebay in a while, but I was pretty sure they had both at the time. Clear and yellow. May not come up all the time, but they were pretty consistent when I bought them (every couple of weeks).
  18. I bought some remanufactured (read chinese dodgy copies) 260z indicators for the front quarter panels off ebay. The metal surround was crap quality but the rubber and plastic lens was ok. At the time they had the front indicators too, haven't had a look in a while. Worth a search.
  19. There is also EMI racing plates. Check out betamotorsports for those
  20. It looks like the middle right bolt hole is slotted. I assume they are all slotted a touch for caster, cant see you getting much caster out of that if that is the case though.
  21. HA! Good comeback. Good luck with the car.
  22. So when are you completely rewiring your car then? Don't celebrate too much, it will come back.
  23. I'm pretty sure that the headlights run off a separate fuse to the indicators mate. Keep looking. Although I have a later 260z then you. Brad
  24. Steve, if you cant find an obvious problem then start fault finding from the fuse. It sounds like the fuse is going out on an overload rather then short circuit as it is taking so long to blow (however having said that it may be an intermittent fault). So I would remove your battery cable (so that your not reading resistance back through the battery), remove the fuse and start measuring resistance from the load side of the fuse to a good ground. Remove/disconnect wiring as required to locate the fault. By the way, every time I have had a flasher go, it normally smokes the wiring (pulls too much current) which should blow your fuse too. Quite often the flasher will still work for a while before it completely goes out.
