    OUCH!!

I think the damage will be much worse greg. I think you have written off that 280zx and now need to sell me the shortblock. HA! Seriously though, that sucks. I was daily driving my datsun for a while and I had to drive home along the riverside express way during busy traffic. It seemed like every day I would have a woman putting on lipstick or talking on a mobile phone behind me. Use to have to leave a lot of braking room in front of me so I could stop slowly.
  2. Come on steve, when are we going to see you do something on this car? Greg does have the gear and is obviously willing to help.

    rear tow points

Fair enough. Would it still work under tension then? or would it try and push the tank into the car? I guess that all depends how strong you make it. I still think if the tow mounts are good enough for the factory then they would have to be good enough for what you need. If you do get stuck in something that you think will put strain on the bumper mount, then just tow it from the diff. Then use your new mounts for general towing/lifting onto trailer.

    rear tow points

That might end up like a spear into what or whoever runs into the back of you (not that you want someone running into the back of you). Not sure how different the rear bumpers are from a 240z to a 260z 2+2, but mine has been towed quite a few times from them. Generally they hook onto both mounts to get it onto a flatbed. Never been pulled out of sand though like PZG302.

    rear tow points

My 2+2 has stock rear tow points exactly where you are talking about Greg. If I had my car here I would take a photo for you. Will try and find a picture in my files for you. Brad EDIT: You can see them a bit in these photos. You can just see the profile in these pictures Let me know if you need better photos and I will get my mate to take a photo of mine.
  6. Wow that is straight! Congrats on the great car, just don't go doing a targa like Eric Bana.
  7. I think by removing the distributor the oil shaft can be removed. If I am wrong, you should just be able to put the leads 180deg out.
  8. I am pursuing this guys, just having a hard time getting a response from the guy.
  9. Car is elsewhere and it has individual coils so my car is no help to you. Easiest way to check is to set the engine at Cyl 1 TDC (Check through spark plug hole for top of piston and through oil cap hole for intake and exhaust lobes pointing up). Then look at which plug your rotor is pointing at, that will be plug 1, then just count around for the rest.
  10. This is going to look SO cool!
  11. Just responded on Hybridz, but it appears you already know the answer.
  12. Look at a Z bonnet, it sticks out more in the middle then at the edges. That is what you are seeing. Just went outside to take a photos of my car to show you what I meant and realised it is at my mates place. I'm missing it already. This picture shows it, although exaggerated a little due to the angle of the photo.
  13. Quick answer is that you normally don't. Generally you piece it together yourself over years of searching. If you have more money then time you could talk to Otomoto about the Kamaeri or OS Giken products. Then again if you have found them in the states then why not ship them over. This is not a kit item that you will find for cheap in Australia.
  14. Tires/Wheels are looking good Steve. That really is a big aerial mate, reminds me of the radio controlled cars. So when are you getting rid of the film strip? I reckon it would even look better even if you just filled the film strip in with black (in between saving to get it sprayed red).
  15. How are you proposing to tie it into the wheel well? Will it continue the shape of the spoiler or the shape of the fender? Forgot to say, looking good.
  16. For Herrods http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,5140.0.html 253260z, why stop at the 253? Is it a motor you really know or have? There are a lot of guys putting 351 and various other V8 motors in Z cars. They are generally american and can be found at forums.hybridz.org Few guys have done V8 conversions in Australia as well and may chime in.
  17. You can add a tow ball to your datsun, but you will not hear the end of it.
  18. I have contemplated buying the wire/connectors multiple times. What always deters me is being able to buy the wires in affordable lengths. Normally the wire is sold as a 100m roll. Multiply that by several colours and multiple gauges and you soon realise that it will cost a fortune to outlay for the wire. It would be great as you would then be set up to rewire multiple cars down the track, but the initial outlay is daunting. Buying by the meter is also not normally an option as the markup from the auto elecs is ridiculous.
  19. Alright guys I will let the hybridz guy know and get back to you guys with suspected delivery etc. So it will be - Myself - twosixty - 240zed - waxhead
  20. Or respond like these guys http://www.419eater.com/index.php
  21. Watching Rumble in the bronx, just saw the biker chick ride over a 260z 2+2 with a dirt bike. NOOOOOO!!!!!
  22. HA! I love it, you think along the same lines as myself.
  23. Ok, we got 2 then. Wax, 240z?
  24. HA, only thing that sings is the intake, turbo and exhaust. Happy new year everyone, my wife has already flaked which is why I am bored and on here.
  25. Got a price for 5 off mounts. $50 for the mounts and $200 to ship 5 to brisbane. So it would be total of $90 ea for a mount shipped to brisbane. I am trying to decide if I want one or whether I want to come up with my own mount that would completely replace the front mount not just the leather strap. Let me know if any of you guys want one.
