I am thinking of driving the entire way back from Sydney in my Mankini back to Tas. I can meet people along the way if interested. Most likely not. Trip will be in around a month.

I love the sound of an L series, have an L26, L28 and L28ET, have not had chance to drive my RB25DET yet, but the sound an RB makes compared to an L is lacking even with the exhaust off. But in reality with the roads I drive here in Tas, hold your 100km/h+ around all the corners and you get there faster. So it is all up to suspension and tyre mods. brakes really not too much of an issue as you drive with the gears not the brakes. Basically have more than one car an L and a RB. I believe sticking with Nissan no matter which engine you choose.

I am still sold on welding two FJ20 skyline D30 covers together to create a similar cover to the S20, Aluminium plates will be welded on top to either side of the welded together FJ20 covers then machined to match the S20 cover, depending on cost might be cheaper for S20 covers if i went the way above, but i can get heaps of stuff done at mates rates but RB20 covers could maybe be modified more easily as a floating cover, but mounted flat instead of angled like on the RB, with a piece out front

A small 3rd world country could be supported on the cost of a genuine s20 cover The RB20 covers look ok, but i prefer the fJ20 look

There are three types 1 vent, low flat top = NA FJ20e 2 vents, high flat top = FJ20et from dr30 2 vents, high top with recessed oil cap = s12 FJ20et & FJ20e

I think the strips look good. It suits the 370Z, The could be a touch thinner. Also the way the red does not run straight along the window line. The extra slant back onto the door looks nice too, a 240Z with stripes in this position could be good. This has got me thinking of a new colour scheme, but I might do it in vinyl so I can easily undo it.

By the way if the below info is correct how rare does this make our 240Z's compared to holdens or fords of the same era in Australia? Also in red I have marked rarest to more common (just by Distribution number in Australia)

My number plate bracket on the front, is two tabs that hang off the bottom of the front bumper. I am pretty sure this it the standard place that the number plates are mounted. The spoiler I have on my car has no provision for a number plate.

(there is a few pics in the link) 164,616 240Z's were delivered around the world. 2,358 240Z's in total were delivered to Australia. Australia had 1.5% of total 240Z population for the world. (depending on how many are dead now this figure would be lower) 4,287 HS30 (RHD) version were shipped in total to G.B. and Aus. This makes up 2.5% in total compared to the world. Japanese figures are not listed on the site. Anyone know how many Japanese HS30's were produced?

Cusco versions from MSA http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/PSDC04 They are a bit more expensive than the MSA versions I just bought for my 240Z, shipping is reasonable, and exchange rate should be ok at the moment. I had US$920 worth of gear sent over in two big boxes from MSA, cost about $300 for postage. For just two strut bars that should be a fair bit cheaper.

Dimitri the MSD system sounds a bit better than the megajolt as the megajolt needs a 36-1 wheel mounted to the crank shaft or harmonic balancer. Simple enough, but if MSD make one that will use the standard equipment on the engine that would be better.

just as I thought. If I put an RB25 head on an RB30. would I be able to keep the dizzy ignition to run triple webers on the engine?

How much did these cost brand new? How much for shipping to Tasmania? I have a 1973 240Z I really need to redo one of my rails.
