  1. Firstly a huge THANKS to: Fufu (for checking the car out for me and writing a very comprehensive condition report, with pictures) Rev (for selling me a perfectly serviced set of carbs on short notice, at a bargain price and dropping them off.) sfc751 (for picking me up from the airport, running me around, selling the car and parts to me at a very reasonable price.) Alex & Sarah (for letting me stay and cooking tea for me every night, but I would not expect anything less lol.) A SPECIAL HUGE THANKS TO MAYHEM. For running me around to multiple shops for parts or to fix parts on the car. The loan of his workshop for 4 days and making a huge mess of it while getting the car going. His help, technical knowledge, industry contacts, late nights and generally going out of his way for a near complete stranger. Without this club and its helpful members this car would still be in Melbourne and would have taken me a lot more trips, money and time to be able to drive it home to Tassie.
  2. My Mrs would be screaming, after I saved them all..... I would just chuckle "just one more my dear" LOL
  3. I love it and 1000% better than the MSA version. I love the way you have incorporated the tail light access lids as well. Could you post some measurments up? Seeming it was going to cost $273 to mail my fiberglass hood with toll down to Tasmania. Costs could be prohibitive for me Rev. P.S. is that two ports either side or a port and a speaker?
  4. Welcome to AutoParts.com.au Reach 500+ Wrecking Yards Aust. Wide with just one request Australia's Online Parts Locator Send your request and they contact you via email. I have used it a few times not so much for the S30, but it could be a good way to get hold of Hilux Brake calipers I have a request on there now.
  5. Stevo I just noticed before you done the conversion your needle was sitting right on 20 now it sit just above 20. Or was you driving when you took the pic? ZD44TT does your zed have a dash light adjusting knob on the underside of the dash?
  6. your vented ones did not crack because the pistons had to travel so far did they?
  7. I read somewhere that the HILUX VENTED ROTOR CLAIPER or the HILUX NON-VENTED ROTOR CALIPER will both work on a standard S-30 NON-VENTED ROTOR. The pistons on the VENTED ROTOR CALIPER will push in enough to work on NON-VENTED ROTOR. But the gap on the NON-VENTED ROTOR CALIPER is not wide enough to take the VENTED ROTOR. The following install uses the S12+8 calipers on a non vented rotor. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/toyotabrakeupgrade/index.html Read this thread S12/W is written on the side of the Wide vented rotor setup. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=104735 Here is another Brake FAQ http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=103767 CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THIS???
  8. Desperatly needed to replace the aluminium panel that is installed currently.
  9. Had mine on jack stands, both me and Mayhem tried. We probably was not holding our mouths right. Tried all positions and mechanical leverage we could get. I will try a huge bar, hammer and spanner when I get the gearbox off the car.
  10. I have the same issue with my new 240z, I am going to do the upgrade, I will wait until you have done your install to see if the Aussie civics are the same as the American ones. My other option is the wiper system out of my 260z 2+2.
  11. That atlanticz is one of the best resouces I have found on the net. It has everything.
  12. I found this how to on brass bushings, you could also replace with nylon bushes. The only gear stick I have seen is the ones with the single hole, not the plastic insert and spring. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/shifterbushing/index.html

  14. also broke an el cheapo spanner, powerful air tools could work, but you would want to take the gearbox out of the car.

    wheel nuts

So you got some wheel nuts for this weekend? Even if you don't JUST SMOKE UP THOSE BIG 17's AND PUT MELTED RUBBER ON THOSE SHINY WORKS RIMS.
  16. you could mount your speakers like the pic below, I think this pic was off MSA or http://www.blackdragonauto.com/ It would be easy to make your own box though, The box is even large enough for a port and directs the sound straight to the front of the car. I think it was $150 on the site to purchase from memory.
  17. your zed will get in a mag if there is an editor around
  18. better off trying ebay.....all though keeping an eye on the classifieds here is a good idea.
  19. On my recent overhaul with Mayhem we could not get the tranny filler off. I was bending the spanner with a huge ring spanner connected. also tried lifting the spanner with the jack. But all it did was lift the car. You could possibly use some heat, but all I did was filled it up via the reverse sensor hole. I am going to pull the tranny out soon and I may try when it is off the car, I have a close ratio racing box to put in as well as my button clutch.
  20. Yeah I tried emailing him yesterday no reply as yet.
  21. Sounds like after a few dollars you will have a near as new car. What are the warren upgrade master cylinder you speak of and how much. I might be looking for one soon.
  22. start with google http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/motor/design/index.aspx The above is the first link that showed up on google when I typed "ADR" There is a CD-ROM availible for purchase on the site
  23. very nice, I love the dirt and roughness that is on some cars, really shows these cars are driven and enjoyed and don't just live in a show room. Also they are constant works in progress.
