  1. Looks like the video in this post. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2873.0.html
  2. Very good, one video I have not seen. I have a book at home about the Nissan restorations of the old Zed cars.
  3. I think they were sticking to the english version because it works and makes shite loads of money. "If it ain't broke why fix it" They will eventually Australianise it.
  4. One is started http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=36878942305 WWW.AUSZCAR.COM is the group name.
  5. Yeah that would be a great idea.

  7. That is unfortunate, looks like it could have been a good car.
  8. I know I posted this link earlier, but could everyone please review the flow charts at the bottom page of this link and give some feedback, if the information is CORRECT FOR ZED RACE CAR SUSPENSION OR NOT? http://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/content/site/images/suspension/suspensionsetup.pdf
  9. Big mac it all depends on what look you are going for, but the wheels that look like superlites actually look like the era correct WATANBE wheels. That were used on racing zeds of the time in Japan.

After reading that article, It may well be the 260Z I seen at the motor show. The show was about three years back and the engine bay and interior looked more polished. I remember the car had a air to water intercooler, a fairly rare thing in zeds I have seen. Also the top engine brace is interesting.

  12. GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT: ALL POSTS MUST BE PM'ed TO LURCH FOR APPROVAL FROM NOW ON. Lurch people sharing their experiences or putting links to legitimate websites that contain information does not mean "they do not know what the are talking about". This forum is for learning and sharing information. By all means post IN YOUR EXPERT OPINION WHAT YOU THINK but don't put down other peoples input. 13. I have a Mine Rescue Competition on at this time, otherwise I would join ya's. Maybe you could ring an accomodation place and ask if they would give AUSZCAR club members a discount at their establishment for a GROUP BOOKING.

I saw a dark green RB26 pwered 260Z at a Motor Show in Brisbane. It looked a more of a British racing green, and I can't remember the red seat, but it was years ago. I will see if I can salvage the pictures off my old phone.
  19. I hope that comment was not aimed at me LURCH. I was just trying to help, that is why I suggested Scando.
  20. No problems Stevo. I would still be interested at how bright those needles glow with an insect light or other black light source. Either way the gauges look good and the needle looks to have sufficient illumination for night driving. LEDS are availible in 370nm as stated in the wikipedia article they must just be special order, from where who knows.
  21. You might want to try these LEDS http://cgi.ebay.com.au/100pcs-5mm-2000mcd-LED-Lamp-Ultra-Bright-UV-Free-Ship_W0QQitemZ350101638260QQihZ022QQcategoryZ105796QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem They have a 390nm to 395nm wavelength. This is an in cabin black light you could use. There are smaller 6 inch battery powered versions you could hook up to your car electrical system with some extra gear as well. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2-x-12-8W-UV-Black-light-Ess-Tool-Free-12v-Adapter_W0QQitemZ290262779985QQihZ019QQcategoryZ994QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  22. I took this off wikipedia... The LED's you have are not the "NEAR UV" type are they? Your needles should glow really bright being exposed to UV light. I think this is your problem. I looked up "Black Light" on Wikipedia and a peak wavelength of 370nm is mainly used in nightclubs, this is probably what you need your LEDS to emmit to make the paint glow bright.
  23. Stevo it would be good if you could take a clearer picture. Is the purple glow on the needle actually the paint glowing or is it just a reflection from the purple light the UV LED gives off? What colour UV glow paint did you get? The only reason I ask is I have bought a couple of UV lights in my time and some of them are not true UV as they do not make UV items glow bright fluorescently. Have you tried your UV LED just with the paint to check for the fluoesent glow? I just done some reading on this site. http://www.glowpaint.com.au/glow-in-the-dark-pigments-fluorescent.php "Will glow in the dark, and if placed near a UV Black Light will Fluoresce." Maybe borrow or purchase a proper UV light and check if the paint works. You could probably have a light set in the cabin that will make your gauges Fluoresce.
  24. Generally harder shocks in the rear will make the car OVERSTEER. (back end slide) Harder shocks in the front will make the car UNDERSTEER. (front end slide.) You want your car to understeer as this is easier to correct while driving than oversteer. Zeds naturally understeer I think the weight distrubution ratio is 47% rear 53% front. (someone please correct me if I am wrong.) This would be different with your setup. Try your hardest setting in the rear and the softest setting in the front. Also probably loosen that front swaybar up it may improve your conering. Otherwise get used to how the car is driving now and compensate with your driving technique. Scando does circuit racing here in Tassie. Scando is his username. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2662.0.html <<<<<<<<CHECK THIS THREAD OUT I FOUND THIS AFTER A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH http://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/content/site/images/suspension/suspensionsetup.pdf
  25. Add to that $180 for the fuel rail etc. I will sit on it for a while, I will be kicking myself letting this deal go.
