  1. Congratulations Peter and Amanda, Hope you are all well...rest while you can!
  2. In a manual car, I don't have a problem with high range tacho's; it's when you see massive 15,000 RPM tacho's with huge shiflights in an auto Hyundai Excel?
  3. Welcome back Rev, Thought you wouldv'e brought back a 40ft container of zeds and parts back with ya! I'm sure something will pop up. A BBQ is well overdue..
  4. Just measured mine, all up is 4.3mm, but they have an indentation where it sits on the valve of approx 1.23mm. If you need 5mm, you may have to get one made.
  5. Sach, if you need a standard one, I'm sure i have a few lying around..let me know..
  6. There's just a few more details other than weight and lengths that I thought he/she was interested to find out about..
  7. Welcome... This topic has been covered many times before.. recommend a search!
  8. Oh..missed out on breaking something..oh well next time?
  9. Not sure if you have thought of it already, but with LED indicators, with less load on the flasher, they will flash twice as fast as ADR's specify. You will need a flasher can for LED lamps.. Got one here somewhere if you have trouble finding one. I was going to do the same thing but only with the brake lights; indicators I was going to leave with the globes as they last for years anyway. Great work though!
  10. Itching to see it at the F1 Simon.. Sounds great. They should let you do a lap of the track to show it off....
  11. It should be everytime they are removed / replaced..I see it as cheap insurance; never had any break so it's working for me...They are cheap enough from Nissan..same as RB30 bolts apparently.
  12. Looking nice and spiffy there.. nothing like a clean engine bay to spot problems when they are still small and pre-destructive!
  13. I know how that feels Huw; my brother once was kind enough to borrow my zed and then return it and saying "oh by the way, somebody backed into your bonnet".. he left it out the front of hs mates house and an guy in a ute didn't realize he was rolling backwards until my zed's bonnet stopped him. At least he left his details..That was 3 months after I had it re-sprayed. It tends to piss you off most of the time. I learned, never leave it on the street...no matter what!
  14. What I found with locks approaching 40 years old, any Zed key should be able to pick that lock. Or any similar shaped key should do it. Just insert it and wiggle it around..
  15. As above with Benny; anything like a 432 or a ZG. Keeping any additions period correct is usually safe. Except for sunroof's etc... As long as you don't put a shopping list of stickers down the door, I think you will be fine.
  16. Doesn't the twin plate clutch setup have a fair bit of extra mass to it compared to a standard clutch? Seen them before but never weighed them..
  17. Not too long ago I asked the very same question to John Barbieri (Alloy Race Components) who manufactures alloy flywheels for any model car about lightweight flywheels and how would it effect day to day driving or the engine itself. I thought the engine would have to idle at a higher RPM and he told me no.. they behave in a similar way to a normal steel flywheel. Not good for drag racing but like everyone else has said, quicker gear changes. I've lightened my steel one a fair bit and the only major difference I have noticed is that it likes to rev a tad quicker and easier. He did mention a few other details but my memory must be failing..
  18. Might be better to tap and thread then install a screw in plug rather than a press in plug.
  19. Pedal box has gone..thanks... I have a manual pedal box for a 260Z complete with brake/clutch pedals springs etc...Pedals only can be used for 240Z as the box itself is different to a 260Z. Can courier at your cost to other states. Asking $150 and courier should be around $25. Thanks PM or reply here..
  20. Welcommen....
  21. I always do my best to attend..on the Sunday though.. Jason, I'm sure you'll whip all them Porsches and Detomaso's...should be great to watch!
  22. What I would do is visit a Toyota/Corolla forum and ask there; we here know our Nissan engines (some may know alot about Toyota too...chime in if you do!) or even visit Jap import/wreckers. They usually have a list of engines and where they are from. Hope it helps..
  23. Excuse the resurrection of an old thread, but at this last Xmas BBQ, when I forgot my cooler bag and when Gordon kindly returned it to me at Sandown last weekend, there were a pair of sunglasses thrown in. Has anyones wife/girlfriend/partner lost a pair of famous brand sunnies? If you can let me know, and I can post them back to their original owner.... Thanks!
  24. Looks like a Hot Wheels concept car to me...does it come in a giant blister pack? What's with the chest of drawers as a front?
  25. Might be a good thing as you can fit more cans on the shelf if they are all hex shaped..look at a beehive honeycomb..
