  1. I love the choice of wheels..specialy the dish! It's going to look great when your done.. keep us posted!
  2. With my last cammed L28 with the EFI, BP Ultimate worked well for me; or if I can get my hands on some Aviation fuel (illegal on the roads though and sprints) that would be the best..but at around $4.20 p/l, out of reach now..
  3. Welcome to the forum Ken, You'd be surprised how quickly it goes together once the body is done...good luck on the build!
  4. Excellent..and well done. It's great when a zed puts alot of newer model cars to shame.
  5. If its easy to do then no probz.. I just don't want to ruin it. I'll give it a go tomorrow afternoon. let you know how I go.
  6. Is that the one that's about 8 inches long with a slight curve to clear the fan? If it is, shame your not in Melbourne; I have a 240Z radiator you can have! (Needs a reco though)
  7. I've heard Kenworths have pretty strong diffs in the back of their trucks.. you'd have to lose the IRS though..
  8. Well done!...reminds me of a 2 seater Z32 when its covered like that. I'd put one in if I had a deck.. but engine is too noisy so I don't bother with a stereo anymore.
  9. With 450Nm of torque, you may have to beef up the chassis a tad..I'm sure you you would've run through all the details! I hope you can pull it off without any hitches...sounds like a great combo.
  10. Mainly Saturday & Sunday...depends..
  11. Yep, I'm on display too....great parking heh? Gareth, email Karyn from the NDSOC and see if you still have time to make it...at last meeting you had to register then email a pic of your zed for the AGP to approve.
  12. Very true....that's why at wreckers, when I see a elec distributor removed and the base left, I remove and keep the base! Have a small collection of them at home
  13. I don't think dents on a bumper bar is a major safety issue..
  14. Well that fooled me! hahaha You'd never guess that was a custom one off. Some more pics would be nice..
  15. Hey Ben, another question re the carbon bonnets, do you know if they are full carbon or with a FRP frame?
  16. Hopefully more that $0-$15K ?
  17. Very nice LY there...want that in betwen my strut towers!
  18. Cheapest option is maybe to remove and strip the dash yourself, get it covered proffesionaly, then refit the gauges and dashboard. Best way to get the best result for less $$$
  19. What I would do, is get a piece of string, run it around all the pulleys, and then measure the string. Belt part numbers usually have the length in millimters so you should be able to find a close match. Also, take note of the pulley groove, is it wide, narrow or a deep v etc..I had to do that when I installed an under driven crank pulley on my L28; no part numbers where available so I had to pick a belt off from the shelf. Took about three tries but I got it in the end..
  20. Got one here but missing the clear cover. If you don't find another complete one, its yours if you want it.
  21. Pic from my Tamiya 1/12 Safari rally car instructions showing what I have under my car but with the best view.
  22. I've fitted a twin 2" system on mine very much identical to the SA Safar rally cars. Trick is to find a 2 in, 2 out resonator for the center where it fits neatly almost under the gearbox. I have plenty of ground clearance and it's not loud at all. When I get home I have some pics on my home PC if you want to see.
  23. What I've experienced with different RWC places it all depends on their opinion. What one thinks is alright, the other thinks it's a death trap. If your zed is structually sound with no visible rust, it should be fine depending on the rest of the mechanicals. I've never had any real issues with a RWC in my dealings. Was your friends Caprice modified at all? Safest bet is to take it through as stock as a rock and then do your mods as long as they are legal!
  24. They are yours Gordon, I'll bring them down to Sandown...also, can you bring my Hella cooler bag thingy if you can remember? Thanks
  25. I'm using one of those "Pulse" brand gell cells (Odyssey clone?) installed behind the passenger seat with the ground and positive running to the standard locations. This battery is only around 200ish CCA and has plenty of grunt to start my L24. Carbies might be another story; EFI starts almost straight away no matter how long my car sits for. You don't need a battery box for these as they have no liquid electrolyte to spill and can be run in any orientation except up side down.
