I for one can't wait for it to kick in..90 days a year is almost twice a week being allowed to drive the zed for whatever reason! I've heard as long as it's written in the log book, it's fine.
On a 260Z I had, headlights use to flicker on and off while going over bumps. Traced it back to dodgy connections on the fusible links. They may look okay, but remove them and clean them thoroughly and check again. Fuse holders sometimes play up but rarely together at the same time.
Firstly, you have to join a club that has CH or H approval from Vicroads, there are quite a few so you can shop around. Then you can either get a RWC or a letter from the club "inspector" for approval then you can get your plates. The only thing though is you can't use the car for Auszcar events unless they are advertised in the club magazine your are with. For repairs to the car, you can take it anytime as long as you can prove it; not at 3am after a night out on a Sunday! Taking it to an Auszcar meeting is pretty much a gamble.
They can, but the brackets need a fair bit of work (bore out the center and re-drill mounting holes to suit the zed hub carrier) .The price isn't the best though. You can probably get it for half price from a self serve wrecker.
Best guess would be a good carby place? Or you can try Mauceri Motors in Clayton. They (from memory) had a nice pile of Dellorto carbs for wrecking...they may have some banjo fittings left over..
WELL, for a low kay, clean 2 seater 260Z, you may have to add a 1 to what you have saved in the bank. Going by what's been selling recently, budgets over 10k you should be able to start looking seriously.
If the R32 rear calipers are the same as the Z32 two piston rears, it has been done but the problem is, you will lose the handbrake. The Z32 has the internal drum (inside the disc hat) for the park brake and if you don't run that with the zed, you will have to rig up a hydraulic handbrake setup; ie clutch master cylinder under the car to apply pressure to the rear calipers (not road legal tho). Member Nzeder I think has done an internal rear drum in the disc handbrake setup...
Just curious if anyone else has received PM's from a member on other forums that you are registered with from a user called 'Serendipity'? It's happened twice now and most likely a spam thing...just curious if it's widespread or if it's just special me...hahaha
Not sure, but in some pics of those bumpers, looks like they are missing the number plate mounting brackets. Not much good unless you have a spoiler with that provision for it....
A little while ago I came across someone who I think is a member on this forum who lives near Frankston in Victoria who had some early metal pillar badges for a 240Z. I have lost contact info as I wanted to buy them off him! Forgot his name, so if you are on here and see this, please send me a PM! Thanks! :-\
Many years ago I remember a silver colour Sylvia running around in Melbourne...in a sorry state unfortunately. Owner wasn't interested in selling though. Don't remember the model year but it was pre 70.
I'd go with Daniel and Allan, leave the thermostat in. Late model cars now with clutch and electric fans have the mandatory electric fan with the AC. The fan for the condenser should be on always when the AC is on for the air conditioning system to work efficiently. All the AC does is remove heat from inside the car and dump it outside hence why the condenser needs a fan to blow air through it to remove all the heat. I won't go into detail on how air conditioning works so I won't bore you to tears. Try to mount fans that cover most if not all of the condenser for it to work well. The third pic of the temp gauge is a little hot for my liking but as Allan said, mount the fans and there shouldn't be a problem.
Just another little update; finished assembly of the dashboard, ready to sit in the zed and test. Usually nothing goes wrong (crosses fingers) and I can bolt it in. Heater controls next and then center console. Also have to check all the gauges are aligned.
