  1. Wire wheel attachment on grinder or bench grinder. Works for me..
  2. I have a "Scientific Design of Exhaust and Intake Systems" book which goes into very fine detail on everything. A bit exy but a good read. This is the book that in several chapters explains that 6 cylinder engines should have two seperate systems for cylinders 1-3 and 4-6. ISBN 0-8376-0309-9
  3. Dave, please put the angle grinder down...put it away..even better give it to me. Unless you arches are riddled with rust, I wouldn't do it.
  4. Mark, might be a good idea to setup a motion detecting camera on your zed for the nights. In case this prick decides to do something else to your zed. Get him on video and into court so he can have a gay ol' time in prison...
  5. See you at the Bob Jane in Oakliegh this Friday night Dave...
  6. If you know someone who can weld up some alloy, a surge tank can be made real quick and easy, or you can buy one for about $100. Theres a bit of room behind the diff/in front of the tank for all that to fit snugly. It's a PITA to plumb up but once it's done, it does the job! If you need a pic, I can take one for you..
  7. At a pissing contest.....and it was wind assisted..
  8. .040 over bore means the cylinders have been bored out by 40 thousandths of an inch..which I think is about 1mm? Increases capacity a tad which is good! With the timing chain kit, usually guides and chain are replaced.
  9. I'm using a "Pulse" gel cell battery (Odyssey brand knock off) which is only around 250-300 CCA and weighs about 7 kilo's and mounted low behind the passenger seat. Great for what I need, plenty of capacity for a start but because of the EFI, it starts quickly. Might be an issue if you run triple carbies etc. Another member I know runs the same battery with Webers and I haven't heard any bad news. I also keep the car on a trickle charger most of the time so it's almost fully charged before I start.
  10. I ran a small "Facet" pump to the surge tank then just used a standard VL EFI pump. Cheap and plentiful and easy to mount externaly. Unless you are running massive 550cc+ injectors, mine were approx 250cc and worked very well with duty cycle never going above 70%.
  11. The fuel line to the engine is from memory ok, just the fuel return has to be upgraded. I ran a Rb25 with a 260Z return line and that was fine.
  12. Loui, you may have to post..I think it's needed yesterday rather than tomorrow!
  13. Dave, the world needs more people like you! You help so many that's why it's never a bother to help you with your Zed..
  14. Another Welcome from here too....post pics +2!!
  15. Usually the pressure plate and throw out bearing carrier can be considered a matched pair. One thing I found when I had the RB engine, I got the same problem as yours; engine running, clutch in...and grind! Problem was I used a Skyline slave cylinder instead of the zed one. The bore in the Skyline one was larger meaning less travel where the L series one has a smaller bore meaning more travel for the given clutch pedal master travel. What slave cylinder are you using? Try to find one with a smaller cylinder bore.
  16. Nope, just the keyless entry. It's gone anyway...offloaded it at a trash and treasure market..
  17. Alan, I did dyno the zed when I had a single 2¼ system, when I had the Wolf setup. I haven't dynoed it now with the twins. I just have to go to Lilydale and dyno again on the same one to get an accurate reading.
  18. I might as well just in case someone else needs something the other way! Travel Dates: Early to mid June Travel Journey Points From A to B: Melb - Sydney and then back to Melb Space Available: Xtrail rear area. Nothing to big eg. 19. Thanks again everyone..I had a lovely Birthmas! :'(
  20. Just find an old dealership letter head and type on the letter " Dear Sir, Your 240Z that you have ordered with the 6 pot 330mm front disc brakes and 4 pot rear disc setup and that rather large turbo we had specially flown in from Japan and 17" x 8 wheels with flares have been fitted and your car is ready for pickup" A little bit of work on Photoshop to make it look old and you're done!
  21. I typed that before I saw your build details on Classicz site.. It does sound a bit on the loud side but I'd be happy with it. Might be a bit loud for sprints we do here; we have a 75db limit at about 30 meters (I think) at 5000 rpm..
  22. Thanks again everyone! That's impossible...."a day without chaos is like a day without sunshine" quote from some old war movie...slightly modified..anyone remember?
  23. Tried the search feature but obviously had the wrong choice of words..
  24. I'm pretty sure I have the part numbers in a txt file on my home PC..haven't filled the work pc with zed stuff....yet
