Hey thanks Rev , you're a pin·na·cle (geez i can't spell for Quids) of inspiration for many others myself included. The last time i had this area of my car apart was 10 years ago and all i did was paint straight over the top of everything. Wish i had have done a semi reasonable job back then but it's all in the pipeline

I really hate having time off as i get so fidgity. So i decided to have a look under the rear part of my Zed and see what was happening. I always knew it was a problem area as when i bought the car it had a plastic trim tek screwed in between the tail lights and the bumper (styiiiiilish) Miss u KT Anyways i stripped it back and as i thought it had been hit in the rear and one of the over riders had been pushed into the body. So after the stripping i welded up all the offending holes and those ugly side ones one the side that usually have a big rubber grommet in it, this is all pretty much pointless as i will be stripping the car down late 2010. but like i say, damn i get bored.

What i had in mind is to fabricate the next one and then make a fibreglass mould of it but i think it wouldn't be worth it as RB30 rocker covers are cheap and plentiful. The distance would depend on what manifold you use but a Ebay one i listed earlier in this thread has less clearence than mine. As a real time guide i can fit my knuckles in between the intake and the strut tower.. .. .. this clearence would expand when the air box is turned around. Once i do the next one i'll post some pics and see what people think (should have a lot cleaner appearance).

Kinda diggin up a year old thread but i modified the Cold Air Box. The filler cap, logo, and the other stuff have been smoothed. Next one (seeing this was the Prototype) will be the other way around so all the lumps are on the bottom.

Yea, Dalee just sussed out a set and they work out $200 cheaper (for a pair) and can be in the country in 4 days for that price too.

I'm looking for a front set of over-riders. Don't have to have the rubbers and dosen't matter if the chrome is bad either. Thanks Guys.

Thanks Rev. Thats the rear bar i got off you. Here it is back on the car after 20+ hrs work. I started on it Sunday afternoon and finished it today (Tuesday).

Funny that, neither was i at first but i thought i would try it and if i didn't like it i could just Zing them off. By the way if anyone wants a 260Z rear bar that a bit wavy they can have my old one for nuthin. Also i am looking for a set of front over riders.

I purchased this rear bar off another member for my 260Z which had over riders so i got an idea to weld all the holes up and also weld the over riders on and smooth it all back.. .. .. Here's some pics of the work so far. I'll be painting them for the moment but i'm going to try (next year) to get a good enough finish on the Bars that will allow me to get them chromed.

If you take the hatch dosen't that make the Zed a ute .. .. .. sort of .. .. .. oh i'm going to get in so much trouble
