  6. Negative earth problem somwhere under the dash?!?!?
  7. Yea i just can't go past the Triples either.
  8. The ones on Dalee"s Mustard are Speedy Wheels. The centre is Gold, the rim is chrome, it has allen bolts and the circles on the centre are more oval than round. A nice period rim that would look good on the right car... i'll get a better pic tomorrow and post it up here.
  9. I think dalee's Mustard Zed has the same rims... Check his Gallery!! http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=lastupby&cat=0&pos=7&uid=474
  10. I reckon flip a coin. Even if you do 90% of the work yourself those hours you spend still add up. I would say that the strongest reason that anyone has for restoring a Zed is Passion. It's never about logic as a lot spend more than the price of a new car. Ahh, i still remember the very first Zed tearing down the road and with the help of these guys i've now commited to spending any spare money i can on parts from all corners of the globe because i have an image in my head of how i want My car to finally look and i douibt if i would ever sell it. None of the above is based on logic.
  11. More Pics!!!
  12. I,ve never seen it before but rumour has it that it was for sale on the high side of 35 grand. A truly spectacular Zed.
  13. Some Pics from sunday.
  14. The mask is my dads ex WW2 and he used in when searching in caves when searching for gold to protect from gas. He is a bit weird ... hence the weird offspring. My dad http://www.finders.com.au/Finders_Archives/News/PR176.HTM http://www.thecourier.com.au/news/local/news/general/invention-goldmine-for-matt-the-tailor/404610.aspx is from Croatia and spent 5 Years in the croation army and Mum is from Tassie.
  15. Sorry, i've been out in the sun a lot lately.
  16. It looks like i'll be driving one of Dalee's Zeds down to this event.
  17. The 260C ignition harness fits the 260Z and also the transmission (Auto) is the same too. Oh and Um Welcome
  18. This should answer your questions rb30x. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,3183.0.html I think
  19. Well the L24 and L26 have the same bore but it might help if you can get somone to answer this question who has fitted a N42 head to an L24 block as i used dished pistons (cause 40 thou over flat tops are so damn hard to find) It took me around 12 hours to sand the casting marks off and the with a small buff on a drill (from Bunnings) just polish, polish, Polish using some Autosol. The heat sheild is half of a 50Klm sign that someone left behind while changing a speed zone, so i cut it in half and shortened it and also cut two tabs to bolt to the manifold. Polishes up really easy and is hard to bend. The other half went to New Zealand with my other set of triples as seen in this thread. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,4120.0.html
  20. The template is pretty easy to make, just get your bare block and cover it with a piece of cardboard where the head sits then place the assembled cylinder head on top wetting the valves with a small amount of oil. Then press the valves down slightly and this will leave a mark on the cardboard where the valves will travel.
  21. Sure have... Check out my gallery on my engine rebuild http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=lastupby&cat=0&pos=4&uid=762 I also made a template of the notching which shows where it is on the block.
  22. The block needs to be notched to clear the inlet valves!?! Mine is.
  23. This thread might help. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,5476.0.html
