  1. You'll have some jets coming your way tomorrow Rev.
  2. It's so hard to know what to say when one of our Zed Brothers is taken from us, but i know that any reading this would be proud of this tribute to one of our own, as i'm sure our fallen Brother would be.
  3. So the one you want is the one on the corner Valance?
  4. Yea that would be the front of the car coming toward you as it folds.
  5. I have 210 and 230 air correctors, Rev... Closest mains i have is 130.
  6. Yea i would think that the edge would peel and thats why they would shy away from it.
  7. Haven't ordered the door skins yet... i can get them local for $268 each. Might have to be the bonnet and i really want to leave the Quarters till last and maybe do the dog legs/ sills/ insides of the doors at the same time. So i'm thinkin Bonnet or Hatch this weekend.
  8. I'll have to take a good pic of it first. Meanwhile heres some more of yesterday.
  9. Interesting little tool that one Gav, which i've been using for the last 20 Years. It used to be made by a company called Sandvik but now it goes under a different name. The blade is Tungsten Carbide, the head is Alloy and it has a sturdy Plastic handle. When i went to Home Hardware the guy raved on and on about it and he wasn't wrong, it's a spectacular little scraper. Costs about $38 and $20 for just the blade. Good thing about it is that if you have trouble making the correct shapes or lines with filler you can wait for the filler to nearly go off and then carve the shape like a Clay Model. Just have to be careful with it as it will go through 8 layers of paint in one hit and go right back to metal and then keep going.
  10. Yea nearly drove me Loopy that one but i'm a persistant so and so. Rain today means i'm in the garage with just the indicator and headlight to go on. I'ts a good feeling to chop out the cancer i tells Ya. More pics after it stops raining
  11. More photos in better light. Now i'll fit these tomorrow and then decide which panel is next.
  12. Ok another weekend, another panel. I'm starting to think i've bitten off more than i can chew but i must admit that the guards are difficult to work with when you have to recreate entire sections. The fact that i went out on saturday night and got smashed didn't help either. So i took today off and got the guard in color. Rust repairs were a PITA.
  13. Mine was on the 9th of last month and i didn't get one birthday wish from AusZcaR... Where indeed is the Love. Happy Birthday to you.
  14. Yea i bulit mine too, had Ray Spratling check the head got all the Machining done By M&W Performance 40 thou over, full balance, crow cam, triples and all the usual bolt on gear. Even tried a mild port and polish (which took me about 40 hrs) only thing that went wrong was the flexplate bolts had a build up of residue and was loose even the bolt tension was correct. Made a nasty rattle and cost me about a grand to figure that one out so make sure all those threads are cleaned properly.
  15. As we all know Dellorto Tuning can be it's own thread. I just talked to Rev and his Dellortos Run; 240 Air correctors 7772.10 Emulsion Tubes 145 Mains 55 Idles The idle circuit has not been reduced and this configuration is standard for a Alfa they would have came off. I've suggested that Rev runs 210 or 230 Air correctors 140 Mains 46 idles The Emulsion tubes are fine but Rev still runs points ignition which is the first thing to change. Then swap the jets out. http://stores.ebay.com/ALFA1750S-CARBURETORS-PARTS-STORE_DELLORTO-JETS_W0QQ_fsubZ1038951017QQ_sidZ14256877QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322 This guy has 45's and 48's idles. This fella has Mains but i should be able to help with them. http://stores.shop.ebay.com.au/RECARB-carburettors_Dellorto_W0QQ_fsubZ19838535QQ_sidZ464948846QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322 I'm sure i've seen 46's idle jets but i can't seem to locate the guy ATM. Also reduce the idle circuit which is on the first page of this thread. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2411.15.html Other factors come into play such as Choke size, float level, pump jets but this combination i've tried and varied but found it works best but naturally a Dyno would be the best solution. Also here is the thread of the jets i have. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,5919.msg51510.html#msg51510 That should keep you busy rev. Should save you some time surfing the forum.
  16. Find out what Mains, Idles, Emulsion tubes, Air correctors you are running and post it up. I could give you a very good start on near perfect setup for standard or modified engine. I have the book also.
  17. Must be a Doozie of a Hangover.
  18. That is Soooo seriously cool. Me Rikey
  19. No doubt this is one of the most highly anticipated builds of AusZcaR history. Every step forward, no matter how small, is Gold on this Monster. Please Sir, can i have some more.
  20. No doubt that this is a simple operation as it took me 14 minutes to take the valve body out and post up photos (granted the sump only had three bolts and it was out of the car). This will make a noticeable difference in the performance of your Auto Zed. Again if you do need or want this valve body it's yours. One of the best Mods i had done to mine.
  21. Oops, already done!!
  22. It's a 260C box i have in the garage... says 3N71b on the housing... Can take a pic of the valve body if you like.
  23. I'll take it. Me shall be in touch next week... Good luck on the weekend.
