Not a real lot to report this week as i stripped back the inspection plates and scuttle panel... just a small amount of rust in the scuttle panel. All were stripped, etched, primed and painted...also fitted the new radiator a couple of weeks ago.
This is the modification that was done to my 3 speed auto By Gerard Gayle in Ballarat and the result is WOW. Thought i'd been hit from behind the first time it changed into second, third is not a strong a change but this is because the way the auto is designed. I have a spare auto in the shed if you's need a valve body to start this ball rolling.
I suppose i should explain myself a bit. I've commited myself to repairing one panel every weekend until i get them all done and then spray a final coat over the entire car.
The roof, tops of the rear quarters and tailgate have been stripped and repainted previously and i'm getting brand new Door Skins. The dog legs will be rebuilt and possibly a new tailgate striker panel.
I'll post up all the pics i took every monday. My car was stolen and recovered on 07/07/1990 and it's always been below average in the body area.
As a final episode i'll take the engine out and respray the bay and detail the engine again. Stay Tuned.
Mint Julip out of the the 70's... the holden color chart ... the contrast between the green and a satin black engine bay with a bunch of polished Alloy is Grrrrrrrrr , nice
A new chapter has already begun.
I'll send you a text tomorrow Fuzzy.
The bad thing was that it my Mrs KT driving it and she felt really bad. I've had enough time to reflect on this so Look Out for a new thread in the members projects.
My phone is really in need of a replacement which i just need to charge.
My Zed was parked at bunnings around 12ish in Ballarat when some "person" in a maroon 4WD decided to side swipe the Passenger gaurd and drive away without a care in the world... On the upside it's the first time the car has been hit (or hit) anything in the last 13 Years. Should make the local rag tomorrow.
Wind the window down all the way and remove the chrome strip on the outside. Then grab a torch and have a look down where the door lock is... I had my button mechanisim pop out and it jammed the whole lot. You may be able to free it with a long thin rod of the old, trusty coathanger.
