Looks like it has had a sunroof filled. Might be a better option to reskin roof and fix that rust as you go. Probably a bit more work than you were hoping to do though.

I got one from Warren at AllZ think it was $30 or so and included the timber knob.

When you say the standard 280 box are you talking z or zx? I had a look at the zx box when i had one for parts car and didn't look like bolt in job unless brackets etc were fabbed.

I think some people are missing the point of the question. It was more about practicalities of getting an airfilter fitted when converting a 260 to EFI. Not so much "where the best performance is". Correct me if I'm wrong Kalium

Probably just operated the clutch on your aircon compressor. Nice and simple aircon on / aircon off.

When they reviewed it in the latest top gear mag they were measuring it against the Porsche 911. Wonder if the show will do the same thing.

Your water temp pickup is located at front of thermostat housing assembly. Think it's a yellow wire which pushes onto a large pin. try pulling wire off and cleaning connection, might just be a bit of corrosion. The plenum question?? A plenum is the air intake on an efi motor. You won't have one.

I had an XR 700 worked great in my 260. Only not still using as put in complete 280 motor.

Noy sure about the spade connection. Your leads don't really matter where they are fitted as long as they are in the right order. Usually starts with number 1 where you were indicating number one on the cap though.

I'm lucky that my company deals in underwater equipment. I ended up replacing a lot of the standard bolts with stainless ones. Can be an expensive exercise if you don't have trade discount but at least know they aren't going to rust on you. BTW that heading will be like a red rag to a bull for Jane.

So how does that electric window setup work? Do you just push original winder one way or the other to activate? They're two things on my to do list. Windows and locking. -
Sounds like a fun adventure. Interested to see how your soda goes as will be using it on my 240 when I get around to it. I use it on Navy equipment which I have to respray and haven't had any dramas. As for the 280z aircon, no will not work. Should be able to hunt one down from a wrecked 2+2. I'm close to finish the fit myself.

I got one from US when $ was good. Quality seems real good and my temp hardly gets past cold now.

There was complete choke lever and cable on ebay which ended the other day without sale for 99c. It may relist. You'll probably have to look at aircon from later model not sure if earlier ones did the in dash setup??
