I've done the exact thing in my 1/75 260 from a '77 260. Pretty straight forward really when you have the donor car. You'll notice the aircon blower is a larger capacity (wattage wise) than the non aircon. I had hoped it was merely a cooling evaporator swap into the existing control unit behind dash but no go. The other major part you need is the couple of vacuum solenoids mounted near you front right strut tower and the large air ballast pod next to it. As for the gas, if the old system has let it all out you should be able to just start removing. If still gassed you're supposed to have it purged by the pros. Compatabilty with the different gases isn't really an issue as the older style hose couplings are a flange fit rather than using an o-ring which I believe can be the incompatabilty issue. The only thing natrad suggested I might need to do was update the old condensor radiator and possibly replace the TX ? valve in the evaporator. I've had to do neither and this is it's second summer working great. Only original not used was the compressor as the one I had was seized cost $500 for a brand new one. Good luck with it.

I'd recommend going for a new one if you have $500 in the budget. Much lighter/smaller and I suspect more efficient. Only hard part is fabbing the bracket.

Sure are quick got mine today. Only had a quick flick but was happy to see a 2+2 which looks just like mine. Surprised because didn't think they came out in that colour.

POR 15 do a tank repair kit which claims to seal small leaks. Sounds like what you're talking about. Have a kit at work which we're putting through an old combi fuel tank. From Auto one I think or autopro.

I used generic trim from clarke rubber and instead of the staples,pop rivetted just had to trim down the rivot lengths so as not to foul on door when installed. Works perfectly.

Wasn't making assumptions (thought I was making correct comment :-\), just asking the question as I haven't seen them fitted before. My hatches had their badges fitted. I've owned 3 2+2 with only a "2+2" badge below the "datsun" badge. The one 260 coupe I owned had the 260 badge on the rear hatch. Where did they fit the "260" badge on the rear? Was it in place of the "auto" badge? I thought if the badge was missing off any of the cars I had, I might have seen a fade mark or something. Does anyone have pics of them fitted to a 2+2 hatch?

The 260 hatch badge was only on the 260 2 seaters.

Why does is it have to be from Novus?

The wife advising of spending too much time is a very common problem. One pair of wires will be for reverse and the other pair for the start inhibit. Do the reverse lights work when you have in either combination? I found the auto start inhibit wires are great to hook up to a kill switch hidden away.

Agree with Whittie. Sit on it for a while. Me I'd keep it. I've regretted selling other cars and they were no way as desirable as a zed.

I have a set but recently posted a rear window set which breaks down smaller but was a PITA to package. I'm sure someone in your area could help you out.

I have a set of round tops in good working order complete with proper air filter. I've upgraded to EFI and doubt I'd ever change back so might as well sell them to someone who needs them. Asking $300 plus cost of shipping.
