Gave my spoiler a coat this arvo with original paint and looks much closer. Thinking descrepancies in paint mix from different shops probably my problem. Only problem now is spoiler looks way shinier than rest of car

I've had dramas with my metallic but have way more variables than that. My car was painted in a 2 pac and i recently painted my spoiler with acrylic and didn't go any where near matching. Of course I had the problem of two different places mixing the paint to the formula specified. Was asking a guy who does touch up repairs for a living about it and he said he had problems matching when you were painting fibre glass to match colour on metal. Can't see how it make any difference as I used same undercoat on both types of paint. I know what you mean it's bloody annoying and I'm thinking of giving mine another coat this weekend with the small amount I have left from my original tin of paint and hope I get a better match.

Sounds like he's after a car Scoot, not a project. With that sort of budget you should be able to pick up a really good 2+2. There's a red one on ebay which looks to be in good nic.

More likely from someone pulling "the whole middle of the dash apart" Just remember all these light are switched ON by an EARTH (NEG) being supplied. So maybe you've disconnected/broken/pulled out an earth under there. You'd be suprised, if there's a bad connection, it can only be a matter of working the connection a bit to allow current to flow again.

from that description I'd be checking your light switch as they're all controlled from here but fused seperately. try working the lights off and and on a few times in case of dirty contact in your switch assembly. Or maybe lost an earth in there?

Might be a later model 260 which came with the electric pump fitted. Then maybe and engine change came with the mechanical one fitted and was left on? Couldn't see a problem with two pumps because even if both work it's not like it will double the fuel pressure. Does build in a degree of redundancy if they do both work though. If it aint broken....

The bailey channel I got from Clarke Rubber which they source from someone else but they list a style for the zeds which matched really well. As for the bit Galderdi is talking about, I replaced that on one set of my door trims. can't rememeber where I got the whisker strip from but may have been clarke rubber as well. As the staples they use are those really heavy duty ones and I couldn't replicate, I pop riveted them onto the door card and then just had to trim the rear of the rivet off so it didn't foul on the top lip of the door when fitting. Worked good.

Now that I've finished adding the 280z air filter box to my EFI 260z, have found the car feels like it can't breathe any more, noticed more at low revs. I thought maybe a better flowing filter like a K&N or lukey. Went to repco yesterday and the K&N was listed as $160 I was expecting to pay a premium but that just seemed a bit ludicrous. It's a common size filter which is used in heaps of models like the 300zx. Anyone know if this price is overinflated or could recommend another option?

Try some Locktite gasket remover.
