Love the colour of your 2+2 realy suits it. Something about that green on a z just seems to be right at home. Similar to as Zedevan's Z. Love it. Nice work Peter Though not sure about your ironing board. Maybe it will be lot better once painted. Enjoy the next step

Hi Positivetennis, I just picked up a 240z interstate site unseen. Not my first car that I bought interstate or site unseen. This one I think is number 4 or 5. lost count I expect what I pay for and assume even worse. Also I know pics are always always deceiving. So when i finally lay my eye on the car I usually end up saying : " this is damn good so as this and this, oh bugger little bit here i didn't see etc..... but overall it ends up in "wow I did good" So for guys that believe the pics and expect a perfect car that represent on pics for 50% cheaper you fooling yourself. Lower your standards and expectations to lowest and from there it can only go upwards. assume everything is shagged and pay accordingly. Ask questions and request pics of certain known problem areas. Also depends on the seller. If they not hiding anything they won't have any problems taking new pics you request. If they seem reluctant obviously something is hiding under there and best is to walk away or assume its not right and set your price accordingly. Another way is to get someone to check but again be weary. What you think its ok and what that other person thinks could be world apart. So you could buy something that's worse than u thought or u may miss on one if the other person rates it lot worse than what you think. Also depending on your background and knowledge and ability to fix things. Someone who's a mechanic normally don't care condition of engine or running gear. Because that's what they know and its relative easy fix. Unlike for a panel beater they prefer engine to be good and body can be rough. I enjoy site unseen its like opening a chrisy present and you have no idea what you going to get. Excitement and adrenalin is quite high.If you have more positives than negatives than you did damn good. For me tally is so far 4 out 4 and turned out overall ok. On every car I find "dough this i didn't see" but it always comes back with wow this is better than expected. So keep searching keep requesting pics but be specific. ask for close up shots. Whatever you think is bit questionable mark it as stuffed. and enjoy the hunt

DreamZproject's 260z ever ongoing project

Paint striping is always labourious if doing it yourself regardless of technique. Paint stripper works well if you dont have 5+ layers options are: 1. Stripping disk 2. Sand/media blasting 3. Paint stripper 4. Combination of all 3. Or u pay someone to do it will be approx 1k+ for media blasting. If you cannot afford that than better pull up your sleves and get cracking. -

+1 your panel beater sounds like a leech. he smelled young blood with no idea and his sucking all he can suck. Get more quotes. Also since you in Vic have you asked Lurch the resident S30 body fixer. He be your best bet. -
Good too see Vic's are still at it Ive been lucky to drool over this beuty in person. Note: it looks 10000000 better in real. Great work Mick can't wait to see it on the road with that RB purring.

no longer for sale. car getting fixed. had enough of 2 weeks dealing with 16-20 year old dreamers (and i'm being very very very polite) Couldn't wipe one out as they are getting butchered at an alarming rate. ill save this one for the future generation to see what it looked like from factory. getting help from few mates so she be on the road hopefully in few months. Zedevan when did you get an S15? (if i understood your response properly)
-
Mate not in rush. Heaps of interest just got filter through the genuine buyers from vulcher dreamers.Sad thing that these awsome cars are assosciated with one of the worse crowds out there. :'( Still part of me wants this car fixed and on the road. Too many butchered allready outhere. :'( one day i try save one.

she has been t boned on the left side. Accros a piller b pillar and seal panel. will try find some pics. ive allready removed and unstitched most damaged panels. come with 3/4 complete parts car so all bits there. i have driven the car up and down the street when i got it. it is somewhat still drivable but probably wouldn't recomend. it is missing the left seal complete and "A" piller has been placed with tek screws and clamps to the roof. was in process of removing the seal panel but lack of time and bad back has put a stop on this ATM. Mick (zzzzzed has seen the car before i'm sure he can explain few details.) ive bought the car 2 years ago and have lost bit of money on it im trying to salvage as much as possible. i did have it listed for sale complete both cars for 10.5k. theres parts worth over 15k from my breakdown list. i have been reasonable if not 30-50% cheaper than what wreckers ask here for some of the parts. it may take some time to wreck it all and get rid of most of the things but i don't have any other option. I'm guttered that I have to do this to it but its the only way out for me . if anyone interested in complete i'm all ears nothing has been sold as of yet. (been holding back a bit) . though I preffer if buyer inspects it first. here is a pic of what it looks like at the moment. i will take some more pics today or tomorow and post it up.

Hi Guys, due to my lack of time and illness I have to part with one of my projects. its a 2001 spec r 200sx. 100k km with service history. engine can be heard running as its still in the car. perfect for SR20DET conversion for S30. You wont find a cleaner engine with service history. motor kit $3000 ono gbox kit 1500ono or both for $4300 car is listed on gumtree link here in-case someone want other s15 parts. car is located in Adelaide. sorry for the fine print have been dealing with RichardHead's in past week so trying to filter them out. freaking dreamers. http://adelaide.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-parts-accessories-wrecking-Nissan-s15-200sx-Silvia-spec-R-wrecking-SR20DET-6Spd-Manual-W0QQAdIdZ349067094

;D nothing new, that's old school way. On any advertised car I had anywhere (carsales, gumtree, ebay etc...) I get 5-6 scam buyers in first 3 days with almost identical stories. I usually entertain them with few emails till they realise I'm taking them for a ride.Than they leave me alone. The new way is even harder they sms or even call you on the phone with similar story. (word of warning lot of buyers txt these days so you don't want to offend a legitimate buyer) if they are very pushy than its a scam either via txt or phonecall Simple answer "don't care who comes bring cash and car is yours". They can be very agressive on the phone. Usually with overseas number showing is easiest way of ignoring them. I did have few callers with Australian numbers too so be carefull. Just say no to paypal payments. either direct depo to my account or cash on pick up. +1 on bank cheques.dont trust them If they insist on bank cheque, agree to the terms to meet at your bank and deposit the cheque infront of them. You may have to pay $10 fee or something like that for instant clearance to your account.(cheap insurance) Once cashier says its all clear and in your account you handover the keys and transfer papers. happy selling

To add few more things. Peter. Smallish air comp can be bought for $150. spray guns another $50. try go for 1.3-1.5mm nozzle. for $200 outlay your job will be easier and better. Air comp are always handy and the small ones are easy to store away. I got a small 2.5hp air 25L comp paid $99 for from Bunnings. use it for small jobs. though i do have a large industrial air comp with quite expensive spray guns for my bigger jobs. Even with small compressor you cannot do a complete car at once but individual panels are possible. Ones with 40l tanks are ideal even for bigger jobs. noisy buggers but work reasonably well. if painting 2pk stuff (i'm kinda sick of OHS relation with 2pk, im pretty sure everyone knows how bad it is so as all the other paints) so a suitable mask is required for any spray job be it acrylic, enamel or 2pk. You cannot get it from bunnings or repco and like. Have to go to specialised crash shops. cost of mask from $200 to 2k for full face oxygen masks for 2pk applications. Alternatively go to a crash shop ask what they have and use and info where they get it from. There are some paints you can get that are still 2pk with reduced harmfull crap. cost bit more but its an alternative. though i haven't seen primer filler version of this. spray cans are good for small jobs like toys, bikes, signs etc..... cost per liter the spray cans are a lot more exy than buying a cheap air compressor and spray gun. have fun.........

John that actualy looks damn good.Never thought of deleting the 1/4 window or shortening just the rear 1/4 panels all possible. hmmmmm any cheap rough 2+2 around? (gets slapped by the missus) finish the stuff u got going allready! Lol
-
did you really have to put this one? thanks (believe it or not i still got half worked on r32 lights conversion for it which i gave up on) gone for a :'( miss my 260 :'(
-
Rev you hoon nice vette. bringing it over?
-
Got to agree with Rev. most conversions I've seen not a big fan off. But....... the pic that Chartoo attached with multiple rear end pics the red one on the left looks reasonably well executed almost made me look in detail to make sure its a z not a vette. The lights seem lot larger than other pics and it does look good. trying to find a better pic of that red one and stumbled across this. sometimes Z features end up on vette's Also one of the nicest ferraries the F40 (damn lotto numbers don't want me ) has similar "squared" bum and has round lights. John up for the conversion? keep it euro style you got going on!
