Hi Pete, I got my 240 tailshaft shortened at Hardy Spicer at Eagle Farm as recommended by scottz. From memory it was around $180 and I got it to them one afternoon and got it back the next day. I remember when I was looking there was another place that would do it for $140 but I needed it back quickly. No problems with it so far, been going for about 2 years I think.

Looks bloody good mate. Did you end up finding a decent sand blaster?

Exhaust fumes are one of the most widely discussed topics on any z forum. Try a search and start with your tailight gaskets/hatch seal

You can get them from motorsport auto I think, but with postage etc perhaps we just get the parts from jaycar/dick smith? It is just a plug that fits in where you would normally attach the voltage regulator. Inside the plug you put a little diode and connect the pins to make the loop/connection. Then fill the plug with resin to stop it vibrating and finish it off. Plug might be a couple of dollars, diode might be a few cents and I have the resin. Yeah Steve the g-dog is right. I did the conversion recently on the yellow car, piece of pi$$ with the right parts. Hey mate, sorry I didn't get back to you the other day, I was really behind in assignments and did a few all nighters :S If you can't get a reco one a new bosch(?) unit goes from supercheap for $280 or $320 or something.

There's a thread on hybridz with a guy converting a rhd to left (or possibly the other way around). It looks like it is not THAT simple but definitely doable.

Rough as all hell :S The previous owner put 17's on my 240z and lowered king springs and koni reds (off the top of my head) and it is so rough that I actually watch the road and dodge every little bump and manhole and even those little access points that are only a few inches across. But I wouldn't have it any other way, I don't drive the datsun because it is comfortable

If you need to get it rebuilt I got my 2+2 one done here http://bhss.com.au/contact.htm (well I'm 99% sure looking back on my old emails/contacts) At the time I was told by some other shops that this was the only place in Brisbane that could do it, apprently if you took it to any other brake shop they would just send it on to these guys anyway. I have 2 for a 240z in fairly good condition, drviers side has one small hole and a few bumps where the plastic rivets have fallen out and stuck between the card and the trim and the passengers side is in very good condition. I can start a new thread with pictures etc unless I get some PM's in the meantime. Located in Brisbane

As zedman said you probably shouldn't need to change but the common idea posted around the interwebs is to use the booster from a 2+2. Have a search on zcar.com or hybridz.org or maybe even here for more info, i think it's fairly straight forward swap, possibly some small mods to make?
