Has anyone tried these aftermarket panels from eBay?
sexual_sushi replied to RLY240's topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
On a slightly related note, what about these beaver panels? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230692940567&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:AU:1123 -
Excellent shall we lock in the 11th of December so we can get some final numbers?

Hey mate, if you want a 2+2 I have a fairly rust free shell here in Kedron. It is just the bare shell with hatch and rear suspension (a few random parts here and there but nothing worth mentioning). There are some guards that I can include that need some rust work on the inner panel. The engine bay has been finished and painted by the previous owner. Small bit of rust around the rear left hand tail light hole and small bit on the door sill near where the weatherstripping pushes on. That is all the rust I have seen on it, but as you can see in the picture it is a little bit hard to get in and have a look at it where it is. I would take $500 for it. Cheers Shaun

So looks like we have 3 options: I'm sure a pre or post drive is an option for all locations 1. Peter-T's place out at Loganholme - From memory there is a pool table and the possibility of some quality meats. Plenty of space in the yard too. 2. Be-Zed's place at Waterford - meet near Dream World, cruise over MT Tambourine, down to Beaudesert and up to Jimboomba. Stop to see the 260Z that holds the land speed record, then back to Waterford for a BBQ. 3. Taylor's place at Redland Bay - lots of space and possibly a drive around Mt Cotton (Taylor didn't msg me but he did offer in the thread) It seems like Sunday will be the best bet for most people, so maybe post what sundays you are avilable (Nov: 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, Dec: 4th, 11th, 18th) with your vote on location. I thought we had the ability to do a survey but I can't seem to find at atm. Maybe be-zed has to do it being the original poster?

But thank-you for the very polite consideration

Haha i was just about to post and say that we have a lot of people offering up their pad which is fantastic but no one really committing to one idea or another! Personally I think your day sounds awesome Be-zed but Steve or I are not the Gaddafi's of the Qld members (luckily for us) so it really is open to anyone and popular demand. Perhaps everyone who is serious about having it at their place, msg me the details Ie what days you would be available, where your place/venue is and what you have on offer and once I have a list of all of the venues/ideas we could do a survey/vote thingy and we go with whatever has the most votes? We should really get the ball rolling on this as there are not many weekends left before Christmas. If it all gets too hard we could always do a January meet too

Nice work mate! You don't know how happy it makes me to see all of those cool toys that are destined for the White Knight It's gonna look shaweeet. Ps for the record that is not my rust work, definitely the previous owner
-
I don't mind offering up my place again, hopefully with more people and less rain though But if anyone else wants to nominate then feel free

I didn't realised you had moved to Gladstone, chasing the big $$$ hey? Just don't eat the fish I'm going to be back next weekend, if I get a chance I would love to check out your ride. There are a few "project" z's in yards around town, the kind that seem like they will never see the light of day. Perhaps with the right amount of cash they could be tempted to part with them. One guy has a pair of 260z 2 seaters. 1 has barely any rust and the other would be a really solid base for a project. If only I had some excess money. Was it Keith who helped you out with the rails?

Apparently wilwood offers dust seals on some of their calipers now, perhaps it's worth asking the question of Dave?

Restore the colour to your leather seats at home for under $30!

That's not a handbrake, it's the funky securing device of his bench seat -
Hey John, I don't think I would be a very solid number for you as I don't think I could afford them this year (even at a discounted price).... but I have a very very small interest in the rear disc brake kit. March/April next year would be a different story though.
-
Looking good How did you end up with the rear gearbox mount?
-
Looks awesome! I hope the lil badge doesn't add too much extra weight for you
-
Present has arrived, although holding it up next to my glove box it seems they may have cut it the wrong size. Now I'll just have to dig out that ecu for you
-
Oh and of course hit up the Queensland Z Car Club, especially if you are into motorsport

Welcome to another Brissy member I can't think of any specific Brisbane based stores, just that you can get most common mechanical stock replacement parts from Supercheap/Repco/Autobahn (will generally have to order in, Repco seems to have a large storage facility in Brisbane and can usually get parts out to your local store by the next day). There is also Coventry Auto for parts. If you are missing any parts 'galderdi' lives Northside and generally has used parts lying around at VERY reasonable prices, I would say too cheap There is a more 'official' Z Wrecker near Ipswich, Datsun z bits ph: 5464 5056. He seems to have nearly every part you can think of (used of course) but not as crazily cheap as galderdi. galderdi btw is not a wrecker, he is a member who just happens to have wrecked a few cars over the years and is always incredibly helpful Going a bit further than Brisbane (NSW to be exact), Stewart Wilkins Motorsport has a good rep specifically for more 'race' based products http://www.swmotorsport.com.au/ If you need specific things like brake, diff, gearbox work etc etc there are generally some good businesses around Brisbane that people can recommend. You can still get a lot of parts from Nissan. Some are surprisingly cheap, some are ridiculously expensive. I have ordered stuff through Westpoint at Indooroopilly but the best contact who seems to look a little harder for you is Trev at Brighton Nissan (VIC). http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=1736.0 If you are after some new parts to make the old bus pretty again, your best bet is the American Stores www.blackdragonauto.com and zcarparts.com are good for the majority of bits and pieces. Still in the US, if you want performance www.arizonazcar.com and www.modern-motorsports.com/ are pretty good for suspension/brakes. Parts come up for sale regularly on this site and there is of course always ebay. If you're looking for information, try google searching with: " 'your search term' site:www.viczcar.com " It tends to bring up better results than the search bar here. Always search before you post any questions as many different people have done a great number of upgrades/mods/replacements to these cars and the z veterans get sick of reading the same questions, not to mention that it clutters up the forum. Another good site if you are doing any modifications (engine swaps etc) is hybridz.org Anyways that should be enough to keep you busy. Us Brissy boys should have a catch up again, it's a shame that I have been to busy this year to do much Z stuff

I'm not sure if I was getting ripped but I talked to a recommended diff shop here in Brisbane and they said that a rebuild for the whining r180 I have in my 240z could be $1000 or more depending on what the issue was exactly, so a 1k LSD mightn't be a bad option... but then again you are still buying another 2nd hand diff.

You are a precious buncha aren't you Saw what looked like a genuine rt charger heading down the Centenary Highway on the weekend, couldn't see it that well so it very easily could have been a replica. How far off is yours?
-
My first Z is stripped on stands in my dad's shed, where it has been since I bought it 8 or 9 years ago :S
-
Yes sold to a great new family! I'm glad that the White Knight will get a new lease on life (yes Zac, you have to call it the White Knight ). Good to see another young'n with the z bug too, all the best with the build and make sure you start a build thread!

From memory the clutch's are sort of expensive aren't they? Might cost the same money to convert to electric?
-
Are they the same as 76's? I think they are. I MIGHT have one. I'll check it out and let you know
-
Sold pending payment. Looks like it should be going to a good home

Hi guys, sorry about the late reply. I have ordered some stuff from Nissan and some stuff from Z Specialites in the past. Breaker Plates http://www.datsunstore.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=breaker&x=0&y=0 Vacuum Advance http://www.datsunstore.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=vacuum&x=0&y=0 They originally had the breaker plates listed as the 'upgraded' metal units (the housing for the ball bearings is made from plastic and breaks after about 10 years). However when I ordered mine it turned out to be the plastic variety, not the "upgraded" metal unit. He offered me a refund but I would have had to pay for postage which would not have been worth it. I think you can get new rotors and caps from Supercheap. Cheers
