  1. Heya, i work as a retoucher for a photo studio. I'm working on opening an online retouching site (mainly for cars, see pics below) and eventually lead into car photography aswell. Still need to buy my own camera, i just borrow ones from work atm. I'll post details when i get it up and running, there will be discounts for club members Edits: Originals:
  2. that does look very nice, thanks for all the info
  3. howdy i have a fluted bonnet that i may consider swaping for your non fluted bonnet if you were interested. Only prob is that it is in central queensland. I had a bonnet sent up from sydney a year or 2 ago, i cant remember how much it was exactly but i think it broke $100 and was an absolute pain in the a$$ cause no1 wanted to touch it if it wasn't crated. Anyway let me know...
  4. has anyone used the bosch platinum 4 plugs on their z car before? the technology sounds good but is it just a gimmick? (i think at the local super cheap normal plugs are around $20 for 6 and the bosch 4 plugs are about $55 for a pack of 4?). I was just wondering if any difference was noticeable just in general running, cold start and maintainence etc. I don't mind buying the best for Nigels ex baby http://www.boschautoparts.com/Products/SparkPlugs/Platinum4.htm

  7. Heya By rear struts do you mean the springs/shocks? Any suspension place can do that for you, I can't recommend anyone down here in Brisbane but in my hometown I bought new shock absorbers for my 74 z and the local suspension guy installed them for $50. If you need springs and shocks I would go all out and get all of the rubbers/bushes, springs and shocks to do the lot. I got a 1 inch lowered and hardened kit from my local guy for $1100 or $1200 (i think). These are the parts he ordered for my 77 260z (not including rubbers obviously): Shocks: KYB (Kayaba) Gas Shock Absorber Excel-G Part No. 361002 Front Springs: King Springs (Formula Chassis Parts) Part No. FDFL-04 Rear Springs: King Springs (Formula Chassis Parts) Part No. xxxx-xx [sorry havn't written this part number down yet :S] While they were out i snaded and painted them aswell... You can buy the parts and do it your self but you would need a spring compressor when it comes time to put it back together. It's honestly worth paying the labour for them to do it. It will take about a day and no work involved for you . If you become a member of the z car club there are a lot of guys that can point you in the right direction here in Brisbane. I'll email someone and see how the forum is going, would be handy to have it back
  8. Hi all, I'm posting this here becuase our Queensland club forum is down. Does anyone know where in Brisbane i can get an engineers certificate for a racing harness attached to the rear strut bar? RACQ and QLD Transport have given me numbers and when i rung them they have all said they can't do it. Anyone know of where i can find a list of approved persons? Cheers Shaun
  9. Hello all! I just purchsed some synchors from Black Dragon in the states to rebuild the 280zx box that is currently in my 260z. [part no. 60-851 listed as fitting 280z, 280zx 1977-83 w/5 speed manual & 280zx turbo 3/1981 - 12/81] But they don't fit and are made of bronze not scintered metal. Apparently all of Black Dragons synchros are made from bronze including the other 280zx box listed: [parts 60-852 and 60-853 listed as fitting 82-83 280zx turbo w/5 spd manual gearbox) Does anyone know where i can get scintered metal synchros or if bronze synchros (from the other model listed) will work? Cheers
  10. My Rotisserie Design: http://www.shaun-maluga.com/ProjectZ/Rotisserie.html Rotissereies on Atlantic Z Car Site http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/body/bodywork/stand/stands.htm I (by I I mean me and dad ) built a rotisserie, we just need to build the brackets to hold the car on. The design is on my web page (follow the first link) however we changed from that design slightly. Its a little bit overkill but I know the stands are going to hold up and I would prefer to be safe. Problem is the amount of steel used, this pushes the price up. I can't remember exactly but it was somewhere around $400-$500. And from what I remember it would have only cost an extra $100 to build 2 lots (due to the cost of buying steel per length or meter). Design: In progress: What we changed was the sliding bits that hold the jack and the car. They are now a 1 piece design to make it stronger and we also added a small lip around the edge of the platform to stop the jack from sliding off. We are also adding legs that slide in the base to stop the stands rolling around (or alternatively you can buy wheels with brakes)
