  1. cool we've got a few people in i have updated the first post with the people who said they are willing. I'm thinking if we make a thread for each city and then we can subscribe to it, it could have its own section but maybe (what do the mods think)?. So if anyone needs a lift they can just post in the appropriate thread and we should all get an email. nat0_240_chevZ: what dates are you here? I'm keen but I am actually flying to Gladstone from the 27th - 29th. Which reminds me if anyone needs a driver in Gladstone for some god forsaken reason, i pity you and my Dad could pick you up in a z32 any more offers for drivers?
  2. Hi guys, not sure how feasible this idea is but.... I was just in Sydney to see Top Gear Live and we got a cab from the airport to olympic village for $65! I was thinking how cool it would be to be picked up from out front of the airport in a z. I thought it would be cool if there was a list of people that you could PM when heading to a city to see if they were available to pick you up? So you could just PM everyone in that city thats willing and check their availability (or maybe have a Brisbane thread, Melbourne thread etc that the available people are subscribed to?). I think it would also be a good way to meet Z owners from other cities and see a few cars that you normally wouldn't. I'm willing to add my name to the Brisbane list. I suppose it would be better for people traveling by themselves but I do have a 2+2 as well if leg room isn't an issue EDIT: Brisbane Drivers sexual_sushi - 2 seater 240z and 2+2 260z stevo_gj - 2 seater Sydney Drivers mrp69 - 2 seater 68GTCS - 2 seater 240z or a mustang nuclear_z - 2 seater 240z or mini cooper s Canberra Razz - 2 seater sco_aus - 2 seater
  3. looks very tidy, those wheels look great too! if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay?
  4. haha we can be 2+2 skull buddies
  5. know of anyone else coming mtopxsecret6?
  6. Haha now we just sit and wait for someone to post them
  7. Haha very cool. But where's Megan Fox?
  8. I don't know how desperate your are, and I'm sure it's not worth it, but I have a factory gold rim on my parts car in Gladstone, Central QLD. If you could be bothered with postage it can be yours for free
  9. yep yep. my dads going to be down so we will be bringing 2 of either a 240z, 260z 2+2 or 300zx
  10. I found a good pdf documenting the conversion, it shows how to reverse them etc. I'll see if i can find it when i get home from work.
  11. I'm not in any rush. I was actually even considering planning a trip to new zealand? I can get a return trip for $360. If only I had done this last year, I flew over in July for a holiday. I imagine putting it in a small ply box would be fine. If anyone else is planning on going from NZ to AUS (with little luggage) let me know, I can swing you some dollars. sorry for the thread hijack but this came up in the states if anyone else who was after a stroker is interested. its not that cheap but i haven't seen many under $500us lately http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230323163838&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AAU%3A1123&viewitem=
  12. i dont think it is the original finish but it looks good. I would only be worried about an original finish if you are doing a concourse restoration. That said I haven't seen the recovered dash in years.... its hiding in my dads shed so I'm only going by memory. My 240z had its dash restored down in Melbourne somewhere and its more orange peely and more glossy. It actually gets a pretty intense reflection from it into the windscreen. So is the orange peel look meant to be original? I have seen an original, unmolstered 70z and it didn't seem to be anywhere near as glossy/orange peely as my 240z. Once again only going by memory though...
  13. Got a quote to get a stroker crank shipped today, $650!!!! Looks like I'll be looking into alternative options. It is actually cheaper for me to fly over to New Zealand and fly back with it :S I am more than open to any ideas....
  14. Sorry gav, I was also waiting for the first one on auction to finish but the devil got it but now i should finally have a stroker crank after years of looking and various americans screwing me around :S If anyone has any other ideas for shipping from new zealand to australia that would be great
  15. are you a member of the z car club in qld garvice? you could put the word around and see if anyone has an old cracked dash lying around, send it off the get fixed while u keep driving your car and then take your dash out and give it back to whoever u got it from. i would be more than happy to help but all my spare parts are in gladstone central qld. ill email a few guys and see if i can find anything
  16. very cool... thanks for sharing
  17. That's a shame about dashboard restorations... they do a good job... You could still possibly buy a dash from Paul and send it off to get restored while you drive your car around.
  18. I agree about the exchaning of mobile numbers thing. As far as i was aware, we hadn't planned a day/time. The first I heard was Thursday morning when i checked my emails. It wouldn't have mattered anyway because I was sick as a dog. But count me in for the 12th (although the 12th seems familiar to me, hopefully I haven't double booked). I think the weeknight thing is a good idea cause I don't like to tie up my weekends, i like to keep them open. That said if we had a list of mobiles, if someone was bored one saturday or sunday we could just send a msg around and see if anyone was keen. PS My dad and i are putting in a s14 gearbox into my yellow car on the 9th so if we pull our finger out we might be able to bring it and my 2+2 to the meet, fingers crossed.
  19. Hi guys, I'm just about to do the s14 gearbox conversion on my 240z. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,3210.0.html I dont have the reaming bit to do the 1st/2nd selector shaft hole and i have limited tools in brisbane so i figure it would be just as easy to send it to a machine shop to do the hole and take the metal off the inside of the bellhousing (see pic). Does anyone know of a good machine shop around brisbane i could send it to?
  20. from what i hear, this is what killed the qld forum (before my time). people get on and start ripping on other people and other people saying you cant do that to z, y would u put an rb in it you w@nk@r etc. im the same. lurch i respect your contribution and im fine with your posts now i know who are are, but i was reading a few of your comments a few months back, before i knew, and i was like holly sh!t this guys giving it to him! i usually think your posts are correct or funny or both but they are often very blunt. i just think this should be a friendly place for people with z's to come and talk about their cars no matter what they have or how they say it. i have just read a lot of posts in the last couple of months that would have put me right off viczcar if i had read them in the beginning, it is even putting me off a little now. this is the best aus resource for z cars and more members posting more regularly can only be in the interest of the cars and the clubs. i think getting caught up on punctuation and grammar is the least of our worries, this is a forum and not a publication after all. if they post something and you can understand 50% of it, you're probably doing better than most of the other sh!t on the internet.
  21. dam u guys have got it good down there
  22. Hi everyone, I know a very experienced boat builder who can make a mould of a brand new nissan bonnet I have recently purchased (no vents) to make carbon fibre or fibre glass hoods. To make this even remotely viable we would probably be looking at producing a minimum of 5-10 hoods. I am just putting the feelers out for anyone who may be interested or even better people who can commit to an order. I'm pretty sure the carbon fibre hoods would be fully carbon fibre except the hinge mounts. Both the CF and FG versions would use alloy mounts for the hinges and locking mechanism. They would be made in central queensland and would probably be available for pickup from central queensland or brisbane (and possibly delivered to towns in between depending on demand/timing). Or couriered at buyers expense. We are probably looking at $900 for a carbon fibre hood and $450 for a fibre glass. At this stage, this is just covering the cost of production. If we got enough people seriously interested we could go ahead with it. Let me know what you think Cheers Sushi
  23. aaaaaaaahhhhhhh im booked in for a haircut at 630 i would reschedule but this is the last chance i have before i go to Kuala Lumpur
