  1. Was it waxhead's 2+2? He had a bold yellow 2+2 but ended up selling it I believe. I think it needed some work to get a roadworthy but maybe someone has been busy?
  2. Hahahaha nice one. Welcome, would love to see photos of the 2000 and the Z of course
  3. I should hopefully have the beginners step-by-step guide to the forum done by this weekend, depending on how much spare time I get
  4. Step 1: Buy a little girly car, say a Swift in my case. For more affect buy a Nissan Micra. Step 2: Safely stow tampons in glove box. Step 3: Drive said car for 1 month because it's hot outside and you don't want your freshly permed hair to be ruined. Step 4: Start your Datsun and allow to warm up for 3-5 minutes Step 5: Punch it down the road and try not to smile as you'll smudge your lipstick

    Goodies!

Hey fufu, just wondering how much the arm rests set you back? Do you happen to know if Eiji has a supplier or just went off of auction sites etc?
  6. I think being the New Year there was more business to attend to for the club. Besides last night, I haven't been to a meeting in a few years but they have previously organised guest speakers to come in and talk about suspension, brakes or body work etc. I think before the actual meeting is a good chance to chat to some of the guys out the front about what they are doing etc. I think once we get the forum organised and I get the "how to" document made we should organise a social gathering with club and forum members, something like we have done here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,3261.0.html I think the parts trading for charity is a great idea by Steve too!
  7. I'll be there and I think Steve is coming too!
  8. Hope you didn't get a nasty virus after googling sexual sushi the other day
  9. Haha yeah I ended up buying a little swift to drive to work and I filled out my uni application today so I will have no time to work on cars for at least the next 3 years I have my first z project still sitting in Dad's shed so if I sell the white car I can focus on that one at least.
  10. Edit: Just realised this is in Rev's thread, sorry for the hijack Hey mate, my advice would be to ditch the sub and build a speaker box like the one MSA sells. I made some last year http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,6268.15.html out of mdf and covered them in carpet which would match the floor in the hatch or you can cover it in the same vinyl as the rest of your interior. You can bolt it in with 2 screws into existing holes in the car so you can easily put the original panel back in if you need to. As you can see in the thread I'm running 2 6x9's off of the head unit and it is loud enough to hear clearly over the exhaust note of my 240z which is on the louder side of street exhausts. Besides taking out the spare wheel (illegal), I don't think there is any nice spot to put a sub in the cars. In my 2+2 I have a removable sub between the struts in the hatch and behind the rear seat but I don't think it really looks that great. There is a thread on www.hybridz.org or zcar.com that is called something about speaker locations etc which has quite a few people posting what they came up with although I don't remember anything in there that stood out to me as a clever and nice way to do it. Another option is this bloke made a vacuum formed speaker panel that goes down by your feet under the dash (kick panel) http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/94564-vacuum-formed-kick-panel-speaker-pods/. I think his design looks a bit odd, like too pronounced or something so you could consider making your own and modifying it if you were that keen but you could really only use smaller speakers as they get in the way of your legs.
  11. Hi Pete, no still need those parts if that's alright I'll give you a call about them tomorrow
  12. Haha google image search sexual sushi if you dare
  13. Haha thanks Brad Email sent Scott
  14. You would think mine had some crazy story to go with it but unfortunately not. When I was in high school and there was still this little program called Napster, I saw someone downloading something of mine and his user name was Sexual Sushi. I liked it and so in the spirit of Napster I took it. I generally can use it on any on-line site that lets you use naughty words like sex (some won't believe it or not). So the origins are boring BUT I did buy some surround speakers off eBay a few years ago and when I went to pick them up from their depot the bloke said all the boys were disappointed because they were waiting for this little hot Asian bird to show up :S
  15. Model: 1974 260 2+2 plus 1976 2+2 shell Location: Northside, Brisbane Item Condition: Daily driver but needs rustwork Body: The 74 car has rust in nearly every panel, rear drivers side floor replaced with all new metal bent up into the correct shape, passengers side just a bit of bent metal as the other side took about a week to make. This body is fixable if you are keen however my plan was to transfer everything into the 76 shell: The 76 shell looks to be fairly rust free, small patch around the rear left taillight holes, some on the top of the door sill (near where you push the weatherstripping on) on the passenger side. Mechanical: 74 Car running and registered until the 17th of Jan (selling unregistered but can be driven) 76 shell currently has loose rear suspension with wheels, no front wheels Price and Payment Conditions: $4200 ono $3000 ono Registration: not selling registered Extra Info: This car has been my daily driver for about 5 years. The body is fairly rusty but included is a tidy shell (plus a few extra guards, hatch etc) which looks to have had the majority of the rust fixed. The best part about this car is that the interior is 99% complete and in fairly good condition. A brand new center console was put in a few years ago along with reupholstered seats and new carpets etc. I was going to transfer all of the parts into the 76 shell and sell the car for a little profit but I have decided to go back to uni this year whilst I work full time. As a result I will have no time or money to work on this car and it will be taking up valuable garage space. As this was my daily driver, the majority of the components such as suspension, alternator, batteries etc have been replaced quite recently. See the list below for everything that I can think of: In the past year or so (probably done less than 10000 klms) New Clutch New Clutch Master Cylinder New Clutch Slave Cylinder Rebuilt Alternator from http://www.kedroncarelectrics.com.au/ New Battery Rebuilt Brake Booster New Brake Lines New Brake Vacuum Lines Rear Brake cylinders honed and had a kit through them Rebuilt British SU Carbies (http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,5896.0.html) Replaced within the last 5 years max: New Tyres New Front Shocks New Rear Shocks New Thermostat Housing Replaced Fuel Pump (used) Replaced Starter Motor (used) The Interior is one of the more complete I have seen: New Center Console Reupholstered Seats New Carpets Doors are complete and clean with trim, arm rests with chrome cover trim, winders, black plastic in door handle. All interior panels are present including plastic panels in rear (some minor cracking). The only thing that really needs attention is the dash which is cracked like most cars. (I might be able to hook you up with a guy who has a dash with the dash cap for a decent price) The engine blows smoke under load and leaks a little bit of oil from the rear of the head, this should be rebuilt but still drives. The gearbox was replaced with Steve's old 5 speed. He bought it as a rebuilt box however it has always whined in every gear except 4th. It has been fine for the past 6 months I have had it installed. I have probably missed a lot, if you are genuinely interested come have a look and I will tell you as much as I can about the car, rust etc. I've been a member on the forum for a while and I won't try and hide or cover up anything like some of those other freshly painted z's you see for sale. Here is a an unfinished blog for the car I started a few months ago to keep a full history of the car (tried to fill in as much as I can!) http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Blogs Contact Details: Reply to this thread, PM or call OfourOO five8O 8two8 If it doesn't sell I guess I'll just have to do it up!! 74 260z 76 Shell
  16. Didn't he pay a shop to do it? Not that that is a bad thing, just might make it easier to part with it. But surely it won't make much of a profit if he did? Might have to ask the Rev about the mentality of doing up a beautiful car and then selling it
