  1. I spose I better update this. As most people have already seen, the rear disc brakes went on a few months ago: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2304.0.html As well as the fitment of front strut tops in the rear to drop the arse of it some more: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2334.0.html It's currently sitting idle atm (while I'm in WA) with a gearbox 'issue'. I'm now saving up for a 'serious upgrade'

  3. This is FS over here in WA atm in the 'Quokka': DATSUN 260Z, g/box, 5 spd, rebuilt $750 ono. Klroo, WA. 0437-105-495 http://www.quokka.com.au/template.php/c0ffcca57b9f4d56751200367e895cc2/search 6 ads down.
  4. Nps, they do bolt up - same bellhousing pattern - but they are physically too short in length.
  5. It seams people are getting a bit confused so I've copy & pasted from another post: 5 Speed Gearbox's from: 280ZX 240/260Z (775mm long) 240K Skyline C210 Skyline R31 Skyline (Bellhouseing needs changing) S13/S14 Silvia/180SX SR20 & CA18 engine (Bellhouseing needs changing) S1/2 Bluebird (S3/CA20 box's; Bellhouseing needs changing) 200B 240/260/280C sedans These all fit, BUT they have different mounts & different internal ratio's & gear sizes. There may be a bit of mucking about getting them to fit. The early 240Z box is called a 71A (has the output flange at the back of the box). Late model 240Z & 260Z is called a 71B box, And the R31 skyline, R32 GTST Skyline & S13 (SR & CA) boxes are all called 71C's. They are all just evolutions of the same box. The only ones that WON'T be suitable are: R30 Skyline Stanza SSS Any of the Datsun L4 4-speed boxes. These gearbox's are around 660mm in length. These are 'short' boxes & are not long enough. The box's from the R33 Skyline & the 300ZX (Z32) will fit but require bellhousing modifications. When fitting a 260Z gearbox into a 240Z, normally the 260Z shifter will hit the front edge of the centre console (due to the fact the 260Z box has a shorter extension housing. This is how you get the 260Z shifter to come up in the correct position - heat it up with the Oxy torch & put a few bends in it! --------------------------------------------------- 260Z Gearbox Ratios are: 1st: 2.906 2nd: 1.902 3rd: 1.311 4th: 1:1 5th: 0.864 Rev: 3.382 (Open for correction at this time!) --------------------------------------------------- Speedometer Drive cogs: YELLOW is the 16 tooth for the 3.36 Nissan Pinion Assy P/N: 32702-58S16 BLACK is the 17 tooth for the 3.54 Nissan Pinion Assy P/N: 32702-58S17 BLUE is the 18 tooth for the 3.70 Nissan Pinion Assy P/N: 32702-58S18 WHITE is the 19 tooth for the 3.90 Nissan Pinion Assy P/N: 32702-58S19 RED is the 20 tooth for the 4.11 Nissan Pinion Assy P/N: 32702-58S20 PURPLE is the 21 tooth for the 4.38 Nissan Pinion Assy P/N: 32702-58S21 HTH
  6. That was a mistake mate - the R30 Gearbox's are the 'short' boxes & they don't fit. It places the shifter up under your dash somewhere... I think you really need to do some more research on what parts fit etc.

  9. Anything as long as they don't stand out
  10. Sorry Lurch, but I don't want open another can of worms here .
  11. I thought you were married, Ben?
  12. A bit of a correction here: It's not the 'new Morwell' track (it's quite a way from Morwell now), it's actually called 'Gippsland Park at Haunted Hills' or to abbreviate it 'Haunted Hills Hillclimb' It's a bit silly calling it 'the new Morwell hillclimb' when it isn't at Morwell anymore
  13. THANK THE LORD! I was having nightmares about you fitting those Downdraft's... I think you might scare yourself now Dave when they go on the new engine PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure the car goes on a Chassis Dyno after it's all together, too. BTW, where did you score the Mikuni’s from?

  15. Special Grind? Nothing special about it. Unless they have ground it to some monter spec, they shouldn't have any issues with it. Hopefully, they have the correct lash pad thickness's to go with it & some upgraded v/springs. Dave, give me a call if you need more detailed info - you know my number.
  16. Are you positive the new diff is a 3.54? Also, how do you know the Tacho is accurate?
  17. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-260z-2-2-in-excellent-condition-original-Mags_W0QQitemZ330246659999QQihZ014QQcategoryZ2030QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Looks damn clean to me. Would probably make an awesome first Zed for someone - and it's a Manual!
  18. This thread is for all non-Zed related YouTube Videos. D1 Drifter Trikes: Words cannot convey how much I laughed...
  19. Or you could get a R30 Skyline (L24 EFi) Dizzy & coil from the wrecker for $100 & bolt it straight in...
  20. Yes I know about that one Bit out of the price range for most people though. FWIW TVR Racing in the UK had a special run of blocks cast so they could be safely taken out to 5.8ltrs(!) Carl Hansen uses one in his Tuscan in the Super GT series in NZ. I've seen this car run in the flesh - positively frightening http://www.powerupdates.com/clients/supergt/pages/a_standard.asp?cid=690739861&aid=493285243
  21. PM Ash (zr240) on this forum
  22. It's fair enough if you simply don’t have the time but, as long as you have a workshop manual, doing basic work on a Zed is very VERY easy! It makes you appreciate the cars to a whole new level /end rant.
  23. You've bought a Zed, yet your not doing the work on it yourself? No offfence, but your missing 1/2 the point of owning a Zed! They are not THAT hard to work on...
  24. Congrats on the purchase. Looks clean. So whens the 'Wildcat' headed, 5ltr Range Rover headed engine going in? IIRC this car was on Ebay a few months ago?
