  1. When you put new washers on Alex, just put a dob of weld onto one side of the large flat washer to take up the difference in flange thickness (a stick (Arc) welder is fine for this job). Getting the flanges machined is a real & expensive PITA...
  2. Sounds good to me - where shall we eat?
  3. Sounds like air in the system... Have you had the MC apart, Rob?
  4. Engine bay chassis rail repaired & welded up. The power went out just as I was going to clean the welds up, so I've packed up for the day (going to be too hot anyway). I have ordered from Nat0 a new pair of underfloor chassis rails, so they will go on in a few weeks. I'm now waiting for the paint shop to reopen so I can buy some 'KBS RustSeal' urethane paint, so I can paint the insides of all the cavities. Stay tuned
  5. OK... take 2 on this. I'm hoping to have the rust repairs completed in the next few weeks, so we can now start looking at doing this again! The LightMaster (Bruce) needs some urgent 'maintenance' performed on his Zed over the New Year holidays. It's basicly a suspension & brakes refresh with a small amount of rust repair thrown in. Date: Sat 16th Feb. Time: I'll be starting at 8am, but just turn up at whatever time suits you! Be aware the later you rock-up the less there will be for you to do! This will be a great opportunity for newer members to learn a how to work on their Zeds as well. BBQ & refreshments will be provided. Location will be at my home workshop near Warragul, Vic. 8. BUMP! Still for sale!
  9. I have a eBay/Chinease AC/DC one - works great. Uses all commonly available parts so no hassles there. I prefer the foot pedal as I can regulate the amperage as the material gets hotter.
  10. No need for a battery tray thanks Ovvy - I have a replacement
  11. I just find abandoned shopping trolleys (side of the road, drains, creeks etc), cut the basket off & weld some scrap RHS or angle iron across for the sump to rest in/on. Costs me about half hour of my time...
  12. No, not really mate
  13. Foot-well finished - bar planishing up some welds.
  14. Nato - you have an email about these rails.
  15. Footwell section tacked in place, ready for TIG welding.
  16. After all my effort in hauling it back from Canberra... That damn thing cost me a fuel pump! (Good luck with the sale mate)

  18. Wow, A 4Cyl Skyline! At least they won't get done for speeding...
  19. Robbie, with your uber-tight budget just leave the factory injection on it! It'll be hassle free (if it's wired up correctly) run perfectly fine & give you good fuel economy. Rome wasn't built in a day mate - concentrate on getting the body straight & rust free. Worry about mechanicals later!
  20. Day Cancelled. Due to finding issues with the Zed that can't be fixed in a short space of time, I am cancelling this workshop day. Thank-you to everyone for their interest in attending & I hope to run this day again, sometime in the first half of the year. L.
