  1. Hi mate, all good! Yer leave the technical stuff to Gav. My abilities don't go far from just changing text! Sulio
  2. You see a lot of hack jobs as far as Z convertables go. I really like this one. The car looks great, nice colour, ride height, wheels.
  3. Not meaning to hijack the thread but just a quick note on these clocks, from memory there is a small hole on the rear thats got a screw to fine tune the clock, ie speed it up or slow it down. Try this Mike if your having issues. My clock's temperamental as it keeps time ok for some time and then speeds up at other times. Must hav something wrong with it but that does'nt worry me as I keep the battery dsiconnected alot anyway. Sulio

    My car at lorne

Man that colour combo looks fantastic. Lowering that little bit more does look great too!
  5. It was for a spray job purposes, not sure how far back they rubbed it but I don't expect you will find a Z finished to that level under 15 or 16K. Members on this forum have sold top notch stock clean restored 240's for 24K. Anyhow good luck you'll have to talk to the owner for details, I'm just putting it out there as a lead, no interest myself. Cheers, Sulio
  6. Hi, I know a member on this forum thats got a couple of Z's. a 260 s seater and and beat up 240 he's hoping to restore to keep. His 260 2 seater was a daily and has just been resprayed. I think he's putting the motor and box back in it atm but I expect it will be for sale for those sort of dollars soon. You can get him on 0413 021 483. He's in Melbourne, Quan. Cheers, Sulio

Love that blue! Bruce, just noticed you have some blue overspray on the exhaust. Nothing a can of matt black paint wont fix!
  8. US$200, my gues is the frieght to Aust would also be at least US$200.
  9. Welcome, Yer pics would be good. What year is the Monaro you have? Cheers, Sulio
  10. Some nice Z's in that bunch, thanks for the pics! Yer I was looking at the window channels on the convertable also. Looked a bit wierd.
  11. Well I'm about to bolt on tripple Dellorotos to a recently installed stock L28. Only other parts on the motor as they are: L28 dizzy, headers through 2 1/4" exhaust. I'm currently running the L28 on 240 SU's, runs well. I've been advised you can spend alot of money getting the tripples running correclty in terms of getting jetting right but I guess I'll find out in the coming weeks! :'( Sulio
  12. I saw this pic in the galleries of RBZ260's DIY dash reskin!? Any details on how you go about doing this at home and how much?? Sulio
  13. David, what did the the kit you bought from Stewart Wilkins set you back? IE cam, lash pads etc?
  14. he might just be talking about the ratios in the diff!?
  15. I'm interested in what people have to say as I'm also looking at getting a new cam for the L28 I just installed. I've been told by an old Datsun enthusiast there are "WORKS GRIND CAMS" he used back in the 70's!? Sulio

    DASH RESTORATION

man I can't believe you did that your self. Thats excellent.
  17. I put a L28 in my car the other week and coul'nt be fussed pulling the spigot out of the L26 to put in the L28 which had an auto attached to it. I went down to a local nissan dealer and bought the brass spigot for $20.00. Might be just as easir to measure and buy from local bearing supplier.
  18. Hi Steve, the original 260 carbs are he flat tops. Not very good. Using the 240 round tops is generally said to give better performance. As far as going to tripples goes I've been told by many you will not see much of a benefit in terms of power to 240 SU's on a stock motor. Perahps little more at top end depending on the set up but it might not be as good down low like the SU's. You would get the most benefit from the tripples with a non stock motor that you wanted to run at higher revs for occasioanl street use or a track car. You will find alot of different opinions on this topic but 240 SU's are considered good reliable carbs that can give pretty good performance and reliability. I've just dropped an L28 into my 260 2 seater and I've got a set of tripple dellortos ready to go but not before a mild cam is installed. The car is currently running on 240 SU's and I've had them for years with excellent reliability. If my car was a daily driver I certainly would'nt run it on tripples however thats just my personal preference. Oh and the tripples sound and look great hey!! Sulio
  19. Nathan are you back? Nathan I think you'll find it will be $600 to cut out the old floor and weld the new one in, that excludes the cost of the new floor pans which is 145 per side. Lurch is a wiz with the MIG. Ask him for a price to do the job if he has time!? He did a fantastic job on my rear tail light cutting and welding!
  20. relatively simple. You just need to cut a little off the inner section and weld plates in where the reverse lights go. Lurch is a pro at mig welding so he was kind enough to come over and weld in the plates for me. I did take some photo's just not with me atm. I'll try and find them when I get back to Melbourne later this week.
  21. Keen to see your paint roller job!
  22. Yes I've done it. A little bit of cutting and welding involved.
  23. Oh cool. You'll have to join us for the next cruise. Is Zworx now called Valworx also?
  24. Hi Dave, Long time no hear. From memory your wife is american!? Are you guys planning to come back to Australia one day? Just curious about your long term plans for the Z. You know, like is it viable to ship the motor to the US seeing you've put so much work into it? Cheers, Sulio
