Yer induction sound is ok but I expected a more re induction sound to be honest. Yes I do have to get some video of it, the problem is the car is currently stored down stairs in our work shop at work which is convinient but I generally do what I need to do and clear out of there as it starts to feel like I'm at the office night and day. Will get some vid when I get back from work trip next Monday. Sulio

hmmm...Mike, I think you have had some bad luck as I've found them pretty easy to tune seeing I've had no previous carb tuning experience other than tinkering with my SU's. The tripples actually start better than the SU's in the morning, just two pumps and she fires. na, your right but my house is on the outskirts of the CBD and I've driven through the city from my office (where I keep my Z) to the house in stop start traffic and I had no issues. My only concern would be goign through fuel as a daily driver. I have'nt measured the diff between the SU's and tripples but I'm sure there would be a bit less economy there. I agree with you that you will have less head aches with EFI and turbo. Expensive but if it's a daily driver I would see it as a good investment as it will behave nicely once set up running of an ECU.

Well since last update I have installed the 7772.6 emmulsion tubes (previously 7772.10) and also 55 idle jets (previously 60's). The car is more responsive and more power from idle to 5000rpm. new emulsion tubes it's running richer mixture, Current power peaks at 5000rpm. I believe the 130 main jets are too small and need to go bigger. Perhaps 140's. See how she goes once they are installed but might even look at bigger air correcotrs. hehe - just in case your curious as to what Scoota is talking about, the last meeting was on the stormy night a couple of months back when quite a few Melbourne suburbs had power losses due to the storms. Lets keep our fingers crossed this time hey! Sulio

Hi Guys, Still a couple of months away however just getting it on the radar for all. Seeing it will be mid winter we opted for the warm confines of the Jag Club in Springvale. We shall book the larger room that allows for one car to be on the floor for presentation. We are aiming to have Ash's new RB25DET powered 240z race car in the building for Ash to spill his secrets on. So all you fellas thinking of going down the RB route should not miss this night. As usual I'm sure there will also be an array of Z's in the car park from stock to modified for a perve. We will also be discussing the August over night cruise to Apollo Bay via the Great Ocean Road to be held shortly after the meeting on the 2/3 August and there shoud be some good video on the multitude TV screens in the room. Also hope to discuss (finalise) plans for a Dyno day. Will have more info on this soon. I am posting this very early as we have had a really good turn out on the last cruise to Phillip Island and we would like to keep the momentum going. So do your best to make it on the night. You all have plenty of time to work around this date so get those cars running and put some faces to names on the night. Remember the more the merrier. The blue car above is very nice all round...but...why not finish it off with the wheel caps, a small touch but something I notice every time I see this car. Hey how do you go about getting the steering wheel stitched up like that. Thats not a stock steering wheel is it? Oh and nice gear shifter, all very tastefully done.

Yep Mick's the bloke for tripples advise. Helped me a heap. Scoota, I've attached a spread sheet that should help you set em up. In regards to the return line you probably be able to run the car like that if it was a track car as you would use all the fuel coming to the engine but if you driving on the road the pump will pressurise the carbs and cause it to run rich and foul plugs really quickly as that is exactly what happened to me. From memory these carbs only need about 2.5 psi fuel pressure and when they originally run on the Alphas they have a return line with no restriction at all. So if you run the original fuel rail open up the restrictor abit to about 3mm, (advise I got from a workshop that sets up Alfas for the track). Cheers, Sulio PS. Hi Chris, I use a 2 1/4" "Turbo Flow"muffler with resonator in the middle like David has however I found when I had the straight though at the back I would get pretty bad resonation at 100km/hr and lack of bottom end power. I tried quite a few different combos before I got it right. Sulio

Hah indeed! Hey they've linked the artical to this thread, must have got the pics from this thread also. If only some of the people in Nissan took some notice. You know it's a bit ironic that you often hear the Japanese were/are well known for taking a good product and mass producing it to a pretty good standard and price. So the old 240z taking design cues from some Euro cars cracked the US market and blitzed it in the day. So now we move forward to the Japanese cars of today and we have companies like Lexus making cars that look like Mercs and are probably on parr with them in Quality and yet (unlike say the Americans cashing on the Mustang and Germans, BMW on the Mini) they don't go back and make some easy money by going down the retro look with one of their best selling Japanese sports cars of all time, the 240z! Go figure hey. We've gone down the path of how all this retro stuff can be seen as lack of imagination regarding evolving the look of the car but who cars I really like the look of this thing, look at the 911 they tried to kill that off but it did'nt happen because of all those devoted to the car in that form.
