  1. hehe-how much does one of those scenic flights cost? The footage would be great hey!? Sulio
  2. Yer Sach we grabbbed some food in the morning and found that you guys had left when we got back. Had a great time looking forward to the next cruise which will be to Apollo Bay in August however we still have the next meeting which will be held at the Jag Club in Springvale a couple off weeks before the Apollo Bay overnighter, (refer to Calendar). I counted a total of 11 or 12 Z's!? I noticed a few other camera's in action perhaps they got the earlier shots in Lilydale? Some pics Lou took below:
  3. Mike, I ran my carbs on a fresh set of plugs and they worked fine but fouled after a few short start and stops. I then installed the return line as I found the mechanical pump was pressurising the the carbs. The fella at a local Alpha garage that sets up Dellortos quite a bit advised the return line orifice/restrictor should be at least 3mm the stock rail has approx 1mm hole so I drilled it out to 3mm, (he advised that when they are set up on Alphas they have a return line with no orifice plate and still fine, and thats with 500cc per carb throat). I've installed the old rail as for now as I did'nt have a through type banjo on the last carb. Anyhow the result is the same you get fuel return working with no pressure build up and running approx 2 to 2.5 psi. Dimitri (Zedman240) very kindly gave me a hand and Mick74 of coarse always ready to share his well of Dellorto knowledge has got me to a point where my carbs are running very nicely. I ran the car pretty hard for a couple of ten minute sessions and found all plugs to be burning nicely when inspected. I will however install the 55 idle jets as I think 60 are too big. I have also bought 5 off 7772.6 emmulsion tubes and looking for the last one if anybody has one to sell please advise. Cheers, Sulio
  4. Well I've just got home from work after putting in a few hours getting my fuel return line working on the tripples. A big thanks to Dimitri, (Zedman240), for a big helping hand both last night and tonight. My car would not have been ready if not for his knowledgable advise and help getting all the bugs out. Anyhow, see you all at 10:00am tommorrow with Departure time 10:30am sharp. Remember fill up fuel before we leave and stay tuned on 16. Sulio P.S: I've got some decent quality colour maps printed just in case you need one plenty available!

  11. ah sad to hear mate. woohoo
  12. Thanks guys. Modular I noticed the Des HAmmill book says 3 to 4 turn re idle mixture screw but that is for non emmission type. Emmision type like ours should be running between 1 to 1.5 turn from bottom. Any more required means you need bigger idle jets and any less means jets are too big from my understanding. Modular I thing you need to first work out what all the components you have are and go from there. I know a bit of a bummer after spending dollars already. Sulio
  13. Kyle if you need front valance I have a spare you can use. You should be able to pick up some indicators pretty cheap via some members on the site! Sulio
  14. thats some bad news Kyle. What happened to your car? Sulio
  15. Hi Mate, Never heard of this or seen a Z with a vynil roof. Irregardless of what the dealer told you Zeds never had such additions. It's possible that a dealer can have all sorts of odd ball options fitted, but items like dodgy sunroofs or vynil roof will devalue a car irregardless who fits it as it's not factory. My advise would be have it removed and fixed properly. Cheers, Sulio
  16. Dimitri, The unit I bought is a scanner/CB radio, it is thesame size as a normal hand held 5 watt Uniden 40 channel UHF cb radio but you can programme all the normal frequencies and more ie it goes above and below the nomal freq range. Not that it matters as I only use the normal 40 and once set operates as a normal CB radio. For an extra $15 I bought the ext mic which comes in very handy when cruising. There is an identical unit on e-bay atm. The seller is from Tullamarine and usuallly has a few sets going. I picked mine up from him when I bought it as I was due to head out that at the time. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-UHF-5-W-TWO-WAY-CB-RADIO-SCANNER_W0QQitemZ200215082494QQihZ010QQcategoryZ296QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Sulio
  17. Hi Guys, Well after plenty of messing about to get linkages correct, (I ended up ditching the Links manifold and plastic rose joints and buying a new Redline manifold and metal 5/16UNF rose joints I have set my tripples up and got them running better than the SU's with minimal headaches as far as set up went. My 240 SU's were a nice inprovement on the the old flat tops in terms of both power and reliability. The Tripples have been a jump on that again to my surprise considering its a stock L28 in need of a rebuild. Since my last post on this topic I have installed the air bleed restrictors Mick74 truned up for me which fit very nicely. I also installed 130 main jets. The engine cold starts very easily with no requirement for chokes although I might install a cable for them one day see how I go. Engines idles as low as 500rpm but I've got it idling at 900rpm atm. Acceleration seems nice from down low with a very nice power band at higher revs there is no obvious bog down or spitting at the carbs. I am still running the 7222.10 emmulsion tubes which I would like to replace with 7222.7 but this will be a fine tuning exercise as I'm very happy with the way she goes atm. any gains will be icing on the cake. I do have one question. I have been advised by many to aim for idle mixture screw to be between 1 to 1.5 turns out and I have mine running at 1 turn out and running nicely. However the Des Hammil book advises they should be 3 to 3.5 turns out for Dells! Anyhow for anybody that might be inetersted I have listed my final set up below. As already mentioned the engine is an L28, stock cam, elec dizzy working at 12 deg advance. Engine L28, Carb Model DHLA40L Chokes 32mm Aux Venturi 7848.3 Main Jet 130 Air Correctors 195 Emmulsion Tube 7772.10. Idel Jet 60 Idel Jet Air Correctors 0.9mm fixed thanks to Mick74 Accel Pump Jet 38 Cheers, Sulio

    want a 240z

Just a rough quick guide, very poor condition $1000 to $2000, rusty needs attention $3000 to $5000, from $5000 to $10,000 you can often find a decent honest car that needs some minor mechanicals and body work. $10,000 to $15,000 you find some very nice daily drivers $15,000 to $25,000 very good cond with concourse level at the upper end. just a quick guide of coarse patients makes a bbig diff.
