  1. Yer we can sort out the pics vid etc. I'm in Syd for a couple of days but we can get together at the end of the week or early next. I'm planning to catch up with Matt Drago. In the mean time, Craig can you ge the video footage from Gordo, get it on an DVD in AVI format if possible. And I'll talk to Ash about his vid footage. We can use Warrens artical for the front page with pics and video!? Sulio
  2. I also have a bunch of spare jets. Give me a call and you can drop by if you want to get em working better. I'm sure we can sort it out easily! Sulio 0413 188 024
  3. I'll see if I can get my rear brackets sorted in time. I'm off to Sydney this arvo and back Thursday. See how I go this weekend. Sulio
  4. Bolt on coil over! Would you trust that? Sulio
  5. Hey it's nice of Chris to offer. Perhaps we can have a coupel of options. Some of the blokes are at Uni and cash flow might be a problem so I can understand if they want to keep an eye on costs but be wary of the false economy it might offer as Craig said. By that I mean check any of the accomodation in terms of location before finalising your booking. I personally am looking forward to finding a plush room close to the action so I can crash after the long drive there and not worry about getting back to my room after a few drinks. Maybe we can post the recommended accomodation and each can decide what they prefer!? I'm still to decide if the second half will come. Sulio
  6. Is the redline kit a Lynks kit sold by Redline? I can't remember but the Lynks kit i bought was ok. Works fine but the arms are a little flimsy and I reckon the rose joints could be better. Sulio Scoota, I like the brass speco linkages you found. Glen should have alook at them. $15 ea weren't they?
  7. I think it's a bit flimsy. The arms are thin and prabaly better getting away from the plastic bits on the rose joint area. Sulio
  8. Man, this thread has come a long way. Did you end up buying mate? If not I'd like to buy it, maybe I can snap it up for $300 or $400!? Just a side thought on the pricing of early Z cars. I've heard that alot of Aussie muscle car prices went up due to cashed up tradies wanting to buy their dream car from childhood memories which is cool. I've also heard alot of the older Japanese guys buy restored Z's at top dollar that that they could'nt afford when they were younger and Japan was poorer. So does this mean that today's generation of kids are gonna be paying top dollar for old Skylines, Supra's and RX'7s when most have gone to the tip for scrap!? Maybe the Z will even have a significant place in the market for that demographic! Cheers, Sulio Oh and where can I find that car?
  9. Hi Guys, I also had a ball. Gordo's place is just amazing. His got a garage that is every blokes fantasy with a hoist, TV area, a series of pics that show off his past Z cars and a very tasty 911 previously owned and still a second garage for body work!! The grassy green we had our cars parked on was perfect with a large pergola that looked like it could easily be in a public park. Heaps of big shady trees for all the tables and chairs to sit under. Perfect weather...could'nt have asked for a better day. Great turn out. The idea of having name tags was great for those of us with bad memories. Good to meet up with so many people I have only spoke to on the forums til then. We went for a spin afterwoulds and the group got split in two. The plan was to get out to the Black Spur pub for a drink and then head home. Craig and Lurch were in the first group and pulled over on a stretch of road near the base of the hills for others to catch up. I got a call from Lurch and advised we were about 5 minutes behind. I think everyone was surprised to see that once everyone had pulled over including the second group we had 18 or 19 cars up for a cruise. I think we were all pleasantly surprised. Anyhow we could see heavy rain had come across over the hills of the Spurr roads so we called it a day. I'll catch up with Matt Drago and we'll go through all the pics. I'll also get the video footage from Ash and Gordo for a short flick of the day. Thanks all for coming and making it such an enjoyable day! Sulio
  10. Now thats confidence building Lurch.....not! Sulio
  11. Bruce, good to see you have your priorities straight. Craig, get hold of some raffle tickets and we'll have at least 5 Z clocks as bonus prizes in addition to any possible hampers. Bruce donated the clocks a few months back so it will be good to make use of em. Sulio
  12. I've got the same but I'd personally go for something more heavy duty if I was to buy again. Check out RevZ this Sat at Gordos. Sulio
  13. Yep good idea. I'm busy night and day til Saturday though so just won't have time to get the hamper but will go round for names on the day no probs. Sulio
  14. Hi Guys, An update on which Maxima brackets SHOULD'NT be bought for the 280zx rear disc conversion. There is a fella selling the 86-88 Maxima bracket which is flat and has a smaller diameter bore (ie 70mm vs the 84ish mm it should be) this caliper does not work without a ridiculous amount of work. The offset of the caliper is also wrong. E-bay seller link below. The correct Maxima bracket is the 84-86 from memory but there is an obvious difference as per pics below: This is the WRONG one, (86-88). ...and this below is correct I believe, you see that it is offset. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=139445&highlight=maxima+brackets ...and this is the guy selling the 86-88 brackets that I bought and should not have. I WOULD NOT BUY THESE (IF I HAD OF KNOWN!). http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240z-260z-280z-rear-disc-conversion-brackets_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34199QQihZ003QQitemZ130271445696QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Sulio

  16. Looks great Steff. Hey Rev, they are the RB-R's, same as Lou's LC240, I think 9x17 -13mm and 9.5x17 -19mm. So where does the power cut out in terms of top end? I've got heaps of pull down low with no hesitation but with my stock cam and 40's 5500 rpm feels like the end of power curve for me. Sulio

  19. I was down there last weekend with a freind that was racing a Lotus. The garage next to us had a couple of those Datona's, man do they look like a menacing car. Saw a 911, 966 GT3 come off into the tyres and a lotus follow at some point. Might try and start my rear disc set up this weekend so it's all ready for Dec 6 so I'll give it a miss. Sulio
  20. very nice. All gthe work has been done! Hmmm...I'd really like to own this car. Will keep my eye on it! Sulio
  21. I'll only make one comment that is geared to Auszcar as apposed to NDSOC. I'm tipping alot of the comments regarding the NDSOC come from Victorians so I'll gear this to our Vic members. This thread has somehow once again gone to getting Auszcar more official and this is what I'll comment on. Anybody that is interested in having Auszcar move to a more official club really should attend our meetings, you know you are more than welcome as we constantly try and generate as many Z cars to be present as possible. At present we are getting more organized on a financial level but that is just to continue having good casual events and that works fine atm. We currently do have a limited amount of time to spend on things like documentation and legalities when it comes to moving to this next step. The state moderators do an excellent job, ie Chris in Canberra, but if anybody wants to go down the path of "becoming an official club" please attend events and discuss your thoughts in person so they carry more weight. I feel there are too many throw away comments on, hey it's all so easy to do but forums are forums and it would really help to have your input and commitment on a practical level in person. These comments are not geared to any one person and I know Dave did'nt want to start the old arguement so rather than getting on the band wagon to put down the NDSOC come to the next Auszcar Dec 6 meet and say hello to Alan and some other NDSOC members that are there and work out in person how we can be more productive as a group so Auszcar can be bigger and better and so the Z community benefits as a whole. I know we have an excellent core group of guys that I see at BBQ's and cruises all the time. Lets grow that group...focus on the posatives and not get too side tracked. See you all at the next BBQ, Sat Dec 6. refer to Calendar for full detail. Cheers, Sulio
  22. We are in the process of opening a bank account. Will have more detail on at the next event Dec 6. Cheers, Sulio
  23. Looks like it's been hit my a missile. Maybe it's come from Iraq?
  24. I'm not a big fan of sunroofs but if I bought that car I'd get roff like thones below installed. Not factory but at least they look it. Sulio
