Thanks for the heads up, but perhaps telling them to scam someone else is just encouragement? . Have you notified PayPal of who they are? The email address should be useful to them.

An Opel GT is another period car that reminds me of a cross between a Corvette and a S30 Z . I only ever saw 1 of these once I got to Europe. A really nice looking little car. I think the problem with all those Z's above ^^ (exception the 240k lights ;0) with the tail light conversions is that they look a bit bland. Smoothing off the rear too much doesn't work you need some curves . Also the bumper helps as Sirpent already mentioned it breaks it up a bit.
-
Just made sure it's reversible Best of both worlds that way.
-
Perhaps Corvette Stingray rear lights would work better with the period of the car. I've always liked early Corvette's (not a huge fan of anything after the late 1970's) Close-up Colour coded rear Modified to have 6 rear lights (reverse?) - just an idea but looks a bit odd. Probably wouldn't work on a 260z (not enough room) Blacked Out Rear Against the Tail Lamps Unfortunately I don't have photoshop but I think it would work well on the Z.
-
Looking at the stock rear lights I think it's the amount of fussiness to the style of the rear tail light garnish. The reverse light and the ridges around it in my opinion don't flow so well. I still also don't like the amount of chrome around them also. However I think your original concept is a huge improvement.
-
That looks pretty good, but perhaps a bit too modern given the shape of the circular lights? I still think the 240K lights are 1 of the best alternatives to stock. Versus

Could be good PR for the club . Get our name out there and drum up interest in early Z's.

I think on a 2+2 the darker colours work better as they tend to hide the roofline a little more (Black, Grey). The 2 seaters look better in brighter colours that highlight the swooping lines of the car (eg Yellow / Lime Green / Red). I personally think you should go with the same look as Jay's 2+2 (the first pic in the post). However it might help to look at this orange 2+2 posted by a member a long time ago. http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/index.php?cat=10096 So it could look good either way. PS: That orange 240z you posted looks awesome, do you have more pictures of it?

How do you put your name under your username in your profile?

Might have something to do with being a donating member. I will need to look at permission settings for donating members. You do have the "Owner of rust" text which appears below your post count. -

Thanks for that really appreciate it. -
Merry New Year lol... it's still 2011 though here..

Yeah if you black out the chrome I think it will look good.
-
What I don't like about the 260z rear lights compared with the 240z ones is... 1. They have too much chrome around them. 2. They have a sunken in design, where as the 240z ones pop out. 3. The separate reverse lights. Which it looks like you'll eliminate. I also like the 240z rear lights because they are very period tail lamps and remind me of the DeTomaso Panterra rear. Any reason why you don't want to just install 240z rear lights? Sulio did it with his 260z and from memory there was some minor cutting involved. I guess finding 240z rear lights is the tough part though?

Yeah a bit difficult for me considering I live in Europe, but my mum might attend. I'd have to check with her to see if she would be ok with it. I know she always wanted a 240z when she was younger and enjoyed driving my old 240z. But this 240z is pretty loud and might draw some funny looks with an older woman behind the wheel haha. I would rather the car get driven though, than just sit there collecting dust. -

Triples would be awesome, but not sure I have the correct linkage set up for the Mikuni's. Also not sure how good they are yet, I bought them from the US many years ago and was told they were next to new, but would need an expert to give them a check over. I also have a big cam, but it might be a bit hot for my current engine specs. A milder 76 degree cam might be better? -

Yeah it's 4 year old fuel, my step dad did say it was pretty hard to start the last time haha. I told him fuel goes off after about 6 months of sitting so I was surprised he had managed to get it started myself. -
Hi Guys, I'll be in Melbourne from the 6th - 25th of February. It would be great to catch up with a few of you if possible and meet some new faces (but old forum friends ). I may also make it to other states NSW / QLD - but haven't planned that far ahead yet. Would like to see Uluru / Ayers Rock but again not sure how possible this will be. I was considering trying to get my 240z on the road, but not sure how feasible it will be for just 3 weeks? My step dad has been starting the car every so often for the past 4 years! - My plan was to: 1. Bleed to brakes - possibly replace the rear drums with caliper conversion 2. Drain fuel tank (the fuel is 4 years old) 3. Consider replacing rubber fuel lines 4. Replace spark plugs 5. Drain oil in sump and replace with fresh oil and filter 6. Step dad says air is still in tyres (I'm surprised about that) - Do tyres get flat spots from sitting that long? Should this be a concern? 6. Try and get temporary reg or Club Reg (CH Plates) - I want my mum to be able to take it out every so often - it's a waste having it just sit there. - However I'm not sure how feasible it is to get temporary insurance cover (Possibly 1 month only?) - If I got real enthusiastic 1. Fit Triple Mikuni's - I have in storage 2. Maybe fit bigger camshaft 3. Consider replacing gearbox 4. Do some minor bodywork But really my main goal is to just get her on the road and enjoy driving her for a couple of weeks while I'm back home and it's sunny! How I miss Brighton beach in summer and driving along in the Z.

Hey John, Could be interested in gearbox and rear caliper set up. What would be required to get the rear disc conversion done? Any parts to go? i.e brake lines, caliper bracket etc..? I know you don't know the ratio but the 260z box, do you know for sure if it was the original unit that came with the engine? 260z 2 seater box's have the good first gear ratio .

My Dual Exhuast set up is very very loud It only has small resonators like those pictured on that website. If you were going to go with a system like that you might want to have some form of mid-pipe (that could be removed for track days?). I personally love it loud, but it can attract the wrong sort of attention. Although I've had blokes pull up next to me and tell me it sounds insane . Yes I run a risk of being pulled over and told to get it tested etc.. but I have a quiet system that bolts right on for that sort of thing.

Merry Christmas Everyone and Happy Holidays. Thanks for continuing to make this site great and welcome to everyone.

If you are willing to sell to international market it might be worth advertising to the UK? 240z's are hard to find without terminal rust. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/list.asp?s=405 The current cars listed there are definitely on the high end, but that Samuri sold very quickly.

Coming from someone who spent big money to get l14 rods and an ld28 crank. I couldn't agree more the l28 or l29 is all you need. Its mostly in the engine head work where you get power anyway displacement helps but it isn't worth the additional expense imo. I'll still build an l31 because I have the gear but I would have done things different given the same optns again.

Best Color for a 240z ever! Seriously it's 1 of the best factory colors and hardly any of the 240z's left have it. You made a great decision. My 240z was originally silver but not sure I like the factory shade of silver so much on the Z. If it was lime like yours I would have definitely gone that color though
