  1. All early Datsun 240z's delivered to Australia were all HS30's. The underlying chassis is S30 and the H prefix represents an L24 engine.
  2. That article is full of gold, if you read it correctly. Must be a long list of people he's ripped off, if he needs to go back every five minutes. If anyone can find a car where Phil has circled and disclosed this information I'll eat my hat. Yes because let's face it, NCAT loves sticking up for the little guy. In fact our whole system is designed to bleed small business owners dry of revenue / income. LOL.. "I'm the victim". LOL, the whole thing is contradictory. But show us said cases Phil? and then.. Yet a car yard full of expensive cars such as split screen kombi vans...Yeah I'll bet the company was broke. Reminds me of this famous quote. Draw your own conclusions. Gold. I wonder how many of those 350 video testimonials would be happy customers if they knew their cars had been given haircuts? Phil also deletes any negative comments on the videos on Youtube, also take a look at the Google Reviews you'll see a lot more negative comments. But I'm sure it's just a case of a few bad eggs..
  3. A nice early 1970 240z in 907 Green. HLS30 16234 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-/172096030384 *Edit and it's sold already. A whole 24 hours later... Sold for:US $24,000.00 Approximately AU $33,905.49 at today's rate.
  4. Hi mate, I've just added HS30 00894, but if you go look at the way this car is included you'll notice it has a link to an album, this is actually easy enough to do. What I am currently thinking is all the cars I've collected so far can be documented with their specifications in a regular CSV file (like a spreadsheet) and I'll maybe have relational sheets for owners details and history etc.. The images can be stored locally in the gallery, each album will be given the name of the chassis ID and when I get a chance I'll figure out how to integrate the gallery and csv data into a custom module for this site. So that basically the register is part of the site. However the good thing about storing the data in a CSV is that it should be easy enough to transport it and join it with the new database when ready. The good thing about this approach is we can work out what fields / schema we want i advance before writing anything permanent. Still there is much manual work in maintaining it, but it's my hope that members will eventually be able to contribute information with the need for me. So we can open it up to later S30Z's like 260z's and 2+2s etc.. That was a long winded way of saying currently all the images are hosted on my own Google Photos account, but I plan to move them to Auszcar's native gallery function.
  5. Think this video was posted in the Off Topic Youtube thread, that poor S30z looks like it was 907 Green, so probably an early 1. Chalk that up in the Bingo thread as another missing...
  6. It's a great car alright, I would have preferred it in a period correct 240z colour but to each their own. I do prefer the look of the Office Tomitaku S30z. A cross flow head looks at home in an S30z, it's a shame the LY cylinder heads are not more readily available. The O.S Giken head is great but really only useful on a street car. Still I wouldn't say no to an O.S Giken build myself .
  7. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/1924-cars-for-sale-3rd-party-sites-ebay-carsales-etc/page-171?do=findComment&comment=166961 Same car, is it worth it? Go have a look. Not many 240z's left anymore..

  9. I forgot to say welcome, if you can confirm the number I will add it to the list of known early 240z's still in existence. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13773-early-girl-bingo-with-photos/ It looks like a #655 is already on the list but registered in QLD?
  10. Mitsubishi Distributor for L-GATA engine. http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/p504035180 30 mins to go.
  11. What's a rust bucket in Japan worth? Buy it now: 810,000 yen - auction ended early... Fairlady Z-L from the looks of it, 74 model. L20 engine, rally clock and foot rest. Says it has documents which probably helps a lot. http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/u95225911
  12. I was watching this steering wheel. http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b191620872 It looks like it would have really suited an S30z, but was listed as a Nissan Cedric item. The wood rim wheel would look at home in a 240z.
  13. Would fit in down Newtown / Marrickville way, Soy Chai Latte's on a Saturday Morning whilst wearing flannelette shirts and skinny jeans. It's the aspirational lifestyle of today's young fellas.
  14. Anyone for a Cedric? http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/richmond/cars-vans-utes/1964-nissan-cedric-sedan-original-condition-barn-find/1103608009 Genuine rat rod / patina style, I kinda like it. $3,200.00 cheap..
  15. Nice but we want to know the details, why wasn't it working before? Did you have to take it to an auto electrician?
  16. Why do I feel an Ice Cream headache coming on?
  17. Nice 71 240z and Fairlady Z. Do you know what chassis number the 71 is?
  18. This would be my assumption also, but I would figure that replacing any 40+ year old joint would be a good idea anyway.
  19. Classic car market downturn? http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000490673 Here is a list of cars. http://www.goodingco.com/results/realized/?cat=40 If you click into them you can see a lot of cars for lower than their estimated ranges.
  20. It's an early S30z hazard switch as the American's would call it, 'series 1' switch. None of our 240z's came with a hazard switch for whatever reason, so I doubt anyone has sold 1 recently. I would be interested in it, but I'll PM you the price I'd be interested in it at.
  21. Datsun Cheviot Hotwire Rims with Rally Tyres http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/301867891784 Same wheels I have on HS30 00150. Starting bid is $250.
  22. 260z radio trim surround with antenna switch. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-1978-240Z-260Z-280Z-Datsun-Nissan-AM-FM-Radio-Trim-Bezel-/301868348157 260z radio trim for 8 track head unit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-1978-240Z-260Z-280Z-Datsun-Nissan-AM-FM-Radio-8-Track-Trim-Bezel-/301868457701
  23. 1. You could take either S30z to a specialist who works on these cars or has had experience with rust repairs on them. I'm not sure of anyone in Sydney with bodywork experience on S30z's that I can personally recommend. For the car in South Australia you could ask member "Ledge" who has a workshop if the car can be brought to him for inspection. https://www.facebook.com/CustomAndClassicCars/ Since he has repaired quite a few S30z's and 2+2s which rust differently believe it or not? (For example 2+2's have different roof pressings which tend to trap water more than 2 seaters and rust them differently around the top quarters. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/9961-new-workshop-custom-and-classic-cars/ 2. Stewart Wilkins in Sydney or James Flett in DeeWhy.
